  1. Omar were you there this week or are you confusing Labor Day with Memorial Day? I didn't see you. But then I was only around on Saturday and Sunday. To ImageThisPhoto: I was only jumping on Saturday but I jump a red/black tie-die rig with a red with black center cell FLiK canopy and I wear a black 1/2 shell protec helmet. Any pics of this jackass? (that would be me). I was the one doing all of those (less than appealing) solo belly to earth jumps as I pretty much suck and don't have the ##### to do aerials (at least not yet). 2. Everyone likes to blame Canada. Hell even I often disagree with the Liberal government north of the border. So why should you be any different. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. Well the marbles are now on the table as the elimination games have already begun. Finland has sent Germany home with their 2-1 win yesterday. Sweden hosts the Czech Republic this morning, while the USA will play Russia this evening and Canada will play Slovakia tomorrow night. May the best team win. 4. I don't know are you okay with Communism? If not, why isn't the USA off in China, North Korea or Vietnam right now liberating those people of those respective oppressive regimes. Better yet why isn't America off liberating all the other oppressed people around the world? The answer should be because it's not America's job to liberate oppressed nations. It sure looks like America is in Iraq because of their oil and the lucrative reconstruction contracts that GWB promised his buddies who put him in the White House to begin with. But that is just my opinion. Oh and to answer your question, no Saddam was not right to oppress his people in the ways in which he did and in that respect, it is good that he is gone. But there are a bunch of other oppresive regimes out there with actual WMD. Why is Iraq different? And save me the 9/11 speech as Iraq had nothing to do with that horrible day in human history. Let the flaming begin. But I can only carry this on for another couple of hours before I check out of here for a weekend of BASE jumping. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. I'm assuming you're a GWB supporter (I could be wrong). Do you want GWB to go down in the history books with the likes of Hilter and Stalin. Do date GWB does NOT belong on the same page as these two guys. But the way you're talking and the way you want to unleash your holy war, he'll be there. Also, will the world be a better place if the USA was to unleash their holy war on the middle east? I say NO fucking way. The rest of the world will view the USA as a war mongering state (many already do) and do you really want the world to wage yet another war on itself (this one will be the war to end all wars as we as humans will finally succeed in killing ourselves off). There is no easy solution here. I am all for the US military and special forces hunting down Bin Ladden and his associates. But to wage a holy war on a race of people who already believe the west is out to get them (and we know they'll be fighting their holy war) will be the end of us all. 6. Wow I didn't know they held the election last night and that GWB won. I must be out to lunch (or more importantly I was off playing sports with friends instead of sitting at home watching TV). Ever wonder why sporting events are actually played? They play the games, because sometimes the person and/or teams which are deemed as the favorite going into the games don't win. GWB may indeed win the election. But that night is two months out and to proclaim GWB the winner because you liked what he said last night is a joke. 7. You are now putting yourself on the same page as these extremists. You say they have a bullshit view of their religion yet I'm thinking (possibly a mistake on my part) that your religous views are also clouding your mind when you say "we need to unleash holy hell on these people". Also, do you know the meaning of the word genocide? If you don't might I suggest you educate yourself as that is what you are calling for. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. The US and Russia played an entertaining game last night (Russia winning 3-1) and the biggest thing I took away from that game was that Russia is still a very good hockey nation and Saturday's Russia/Canada hockey game will be good. Too bad it won't be covered down here in the good ol'e US of A as ESPN I guess has figured that it's more important to have the ump'teenth college football game of the day shown on TV instead of showing this classic hockey game. Good thing that this game doesn't mean that much in the big picture as that would really suck if it was the World Cup finals and ESPN would carry some baseball or college football game instead. Question: Can the US beat Slovakia tonight and if they can't doesn't it really matter? They're going to have to play Canada or Russia in the quarter finals anyway. 9. Good for them (the Spanish Police). But it isn't always going to be that easy. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Huh ... most of the Iraqi military chose not to fight. So did you ever wonder why the Iraqis chose to not pick up a gun when America invaded their country? Did it ever occur to you that maybe they are smarter than you give them credit for and that they knew that they would die if they tried to fight a conventional war with the most powerful military in the history of mankind? Yes I am sure many Iraqis are happy that Saddam is gone. But that doesn't mean that they are going to instantly like America and Americas way of life. Dude it's a different world over their, with a different culture and maybe they don't want to have a McDonalds built on the corners of their streets. Why is it that America must force their way of life on other nations? Dude with war mongering comments like that, is it any wonder why the Islamic world feels threatened by the west. Yes there are some pretty fucked up people over there who do not value life the same way we in west do. But wanting to wage war on them isn't going to help bring peace to the world. 11. Hey Rhino Make no mistake. The United States with the help of Britian did invade Iraq. Whether it was for WMD (which have yet to be found) or to remove Saddam (who was an evil person, but don't forget who created him, the USA back in the late 70s and early 80s). Or maybe it was to take control of Iraq's oil or better yet to win lucrative reconstruction contracts for GWBs networks of friends. Or how about all of the above? Likely the case, but money talks and GWBs friends are getting richer at the expense of Iraqi, American and British lives (not to mention all the other foreign contractors. many of whom have been murdered). The bottom line is that the USA did invade Iraq and you can't blame a certain group of Iraqis for trying to defend their way of life. Put yourself in their shoes for a second. If some other nation invaded the USA to free the USA people from the ruler that this other nation didn't like, you can't tell me that you wouldn't be fighting back and fight back in any way that you could. 12. Ever been to Toronto? How about NYC? There are tons of different foriegn nationalities in both of these respective cities. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Neither one of them wears towels on their heads. Last time I checked I wasn't fat. But there are obese people that's for sure. It all depends on where you live and what sort of activities you do when your work day is done (some watch TV and get fat, some get out and exercise and stay fit). North America is populate with people from all over the world. You are actually hurting yourself more than helping your arguments with claims like this. Yes North Americans could be doing a better job with educating themselves about what is happening outside of their own borders. But once again blanket statements like this discredits your arguments. 14. A bunch of CO peeps will be there (Colorado people). I sent my registration in Monday. It's going to be fun. 1) Freeflying and tracking with TJ. 2) Wingsuit jumps. 3) Sunset cross-country loads. 4) Swooping into Mineral Bottom. 5) BASE Jumping!!! 15. Hey if it makes it to the video stores, I'll watch it. And I'll try to watch it with an open mind. Partisan politics serves no purpose except to distance people from each other when we really should be trying to understand each other better. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. From what I understand the Czechs played really well in the 3rd period of yesterday's 4-3 loss to Sweden. So I wouldn't count the Czechs out yet in the European pool. Canada has looked good. But these preliminary games are more symbolic. The marbles will be on the table for the taking next week. May the best team win and hopefully the refs won't be deciding the games. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. Hey Turtle (hopefully you know I actually do like you). If you really need your poltical fix, might I suggest that you spend the $$$ and get cable TV. There is no shortage of political TV on CNN, FOX, CNBC, MSNBC, CBN, PBS, etc, etc, etc. Maybe the big three networks have choosen not to cover the polical scene because they aready know that the rest of the TV channels are saturating the TV waves with this political crap to begin with. Personally I think the programming on the major TV networks has always sucked ass (stupid sitcoms and dumb reality TV shows for people with no reality in their lives). But these major networks are still trying to satisfy all those TV zombies out there who need their sitcoms and reality TV shows without having to bombard them with politics. Thank god I was playing volleyball last night with friends, then watching taped coverage of the Canada/Slovakia World Cup hockey game (Canada looked good in a 5-1 win) and in the mean time I was packing my BASE rig for the up and coming Labor Day long weekend. I mean TV whether it's sitcoms, reality shows or politcal shows is for zombies. I never thought skydivers/BASE jumpers would be grouped in with the rest of the zombies. But I guess I was mistaken. Turn your TVs off people and get out there and enjoy life. It might actually make you a happier person. In 28 hours I'll be on the road for a long weekend of BASE jumping with friends. But before then I have another night of volleyball to play, a night of watching a taped World Cup hockey game (USA vs Russia) and some packing to do. I guess I'm going to miss out on GWB's war on terror speech. Oh well, I already know how it goes. Let the flaming begin ... I don't care ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. I see so much hypocracy going on all around here. Yes you are correct in saying that both sides of the fence are guilty of partisan politics. Yet some still feel the need to keep feeding the beast by whining and complaining about why the media picked up on one story or didn't pick up on another one, when they know that these stories have been covered. They just may not have been covered in the way that satisfies their partisan political needs. Just look at the fact that you started a thread about this Miller guy. You're saying that the media didn't cover him. Yet I call bullshit on this one. There is plenty of media coverage concerning this Miller guy. It just may not be satisfying your partisan political views. But it's out there. John Kerry sucks ass ... but GWB sucks Cheney's ass ... There you have it. All politicans suck ass!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Note to self. Never run for public office as I know the moral majority (basically the hardcore Christian right wingers) would not agree with my past. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Are you feeling better today Lisa? My self-inflicted Te-Kill-Ya hang over has come and gone ('til the next time) and I'm feeling human again. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Of course my misery (which is starting to fade) was totally self-inflicted. Hope you're feeling better Lisa. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. I'm not talking about NHL teams. Plus we'll just have to see who wins the World Cup. The Czechs are struggling and the Russians and Slovaks have yet to play (Eastern Europe). Sweden looks to be poised to be 2-0 and Finland is 1-0 (Western Europe). Canada (with Canadian born players) beat the USA (with a Canadian born player on their roster) last night 2-1. Of course it's still early in the tourney and the marbles won't be out on the table until this time next week. Of course what does this all have to do with John McCain? I'm hiijacking my own thread. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. LOL ... you guys are just afraid that us ice backs might actually breed with your women and create better hockey players than what you're able to create. Canada 2 - USA 1 Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. I don't mean to be too confrontational, but are you familiar with this process or is this just a blanket statement? Too many Americans think that someone like myself (I am a skilled/experienced software engineer) can just show up and say "Hey I want to be an American" and the next thing you know [stamp] you're a yank. INS is actually a bunch of assholes to myself every year and I basically have to fight with them just to get accepted for another year or work eligility. I know it's nothing more than a power trip to them (seeing me sweat), but it's just the reality I have to live with in order to work in the USA. So becoming a citizen isn't even close to being on my mind. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Whatever dude ... if you're looking for a fight, go join the military. I'm sure GWB has a war for you some where out there in the world to engage in. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
