  1. Say what you want. I did not know much about this firearm only that a friend told me about it, I looked it up and saw how potent it could be in a confined urban environment (especially when it is configured to fire rocket propelled grenades). But others have corrected me, others have told me that there are comparable firearms out there and even more potent ones (but the more potent ones are less maneuverable). This is one bad ass shotgun. I hope I never am standing on the wrong side of the barrel. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. This is spot on. Most competent swoopers know where their window of opportunity is and adjust their turn rate depending on numerous factors. The hardest part I found with learning how to swoop was when to get off of the front risers (ie: when to stop the turn). Practice, practice, practice. This skill does not come naturally. Repetition is the name of the game ... and I am not current now so if/when I get back into swooping I too must back up many many steps in my progression and do not pass "Go" without putting my time into playing high, not going big right out of the box and figuring out this oh so important skill of learning one's window of opportunity and learning when to roll out of the turn. I know what to do to get back in the game, but I would be a damn fool if I thought I could be in the game right away without putting my time in. 3. I hope you are kidding. I hope you are not trying to advise people to follow your formula. You should push yourself up higher. 300 feet is far too low. It may seem hard to do at first, but it's the right thing to do. A few years back I showed up at Perris Valley to do my first swoop coaching using a Crossfire2 119 with Jim Slaton and I was turning kind of low like you (around 400 feet for me on the xFire2). He pushed me up 200 feet after scolding me in a good way, like any good coach can do. 300 feet is too low. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. The United Nations Agenda 21 ... Global Communism ... They want to tell you where you will live, where you will work, what you will do at work, how you will get to and from your assigned job and if you try to venture out of your assigned zone, well you will never be heard from again. They want to do this all in the name of: "Economic Sustainability in order to manage Climate Change". It's being taught in University to the older students and taught in elementary school to all the young ones. I am sure a professor will be happy to tell you all about the blissful benefits of adopting their global commune. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. It's been an average winter so far here in Calgary. A couple of months ago we were dealing with arctic -30 or colder temperatures for a few weeks with tons of snow and then it warmed up. Then it got cold again and even more snow fell and then it warmed up. This is what we get in Calgary. Snowy icy cold nasty weather mixed with the occasional chinook warm spell. Same old same old. I would be a fool think that we will not be getting more cold snowy weather in the weeks or months to come since we are only 11 days into February and it is not uncommon for us to have snow in May or June. But I will fess up and say I welcome as much warm weather as we can get, dealing with arctic temperatures is not fun. There is nothing wrong with people trying to control their consumption, control their waste, reduce, reuse recycle and use different forms of energy. But the last time I checked Mother Nature was much more powerful that we humans ever were and no amount of increased taxation or carbon trading scheme will ever control what Mother Nature throws at us. 6. If you watch the YouTube video you will see that it does. Plus I looked up the Saiga firearm after others mentioned it and it too has some dampening. This is definitely not your grandfather's shotgun. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. Of course being on the other end of having 20 rounds of shot fired at you in automatic succession would be pretty lethal. You would need to be dressed in some future armored suit to withstand it's barrage. But it was not the automatic action that got me. It was in the YouTube video when they talked about the miniature rocket propelled grenades that could be fired. Kind of makes the old single shot rocket propelled grenade launcher obsolete. Now a 5 shot mag for public use would not be much different than a pump action shotgun. Except you are able to fire faster thanks to the semi-automatic action. I do not know ... for the military (or tactical police) this firearm makes sense. It just seems like a little overkill for home protection. Of course when the people knocking on your door are carrying AA12s themselves what are you going to do. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. If I had a rocket launcher ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

  10. This is one of those weapons "I hope" the US public is never given access to. But more importantly I wonder how long before the Chinese or Russians start selling variants of this weapon to anyone who will buy it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. A friend was telling me about this "military" purpose automatic shotgun. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atchisson_Assault_Shotgun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu965sVymMs&NR=1 The US military would be smart to prohibit access to this shotgun to only those inside of their trusted circles. But how long before others begin to make variants of it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I think Betty Fox would be a good choice. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. There is nothing wrong with peacekeeping when there is peace to keep. Cyprus is an example of a successful peacekeeping mission when Canada helped keep the Greeks and the Turks from going at each other. Somalia was an example of a poorly run peacekeeping mission. But the Somalis were largely responsible for this failure since the Somalis were never interested in peace. Whether or not Afghanistan has been worth it is still yet to be determined. But Afghanistan never was a peacekeeping mission. It was a combat mission with some humanitarian efforts coupled in with it. Canada is a peaceful nation. But when called upon, the Canadian soldier has a history of acting like a savage warrior just as much as they are good humanitarians. Why do some Canadians continue to ignore this fact? Politics that's why ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Say whatever you want. Free speech is something worth protecting. I just call "bullshit" whenever someone tries to tell the world Canada is a nation of peacekeepers. The history books tell a completely different story. When called upon the Canadian soldier is just as good acting as a savage warrior doing the job they are trained to do as they are delivering humanitarian aid. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. I stand my my original stance of "Do not politicize the Olympic Games". No politician (regardless of what party they represent) should be the one who lights the flame. This honor should be reserved for a Canadian athlete or an unknown child. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Well if it would shut up the whiny Liberals and their publicly funded media for just two weeks, then yes maybe allowing Mr Dallaire to light the flame would not be such a bad thing. Personally I do not have anything against Mr Daillare (though I think Canada has had much better military leaders than he ever was). But I don't think that would matter. The Liberals have been whining everyday since they lost power and they are pissed to the gills that they are not at the front of the troughs doing their time honored tradition of padding their pockets with tax payers money. I just love how the mainstream media works in this country. Harper prorogues parliament and all hell breaks loose in the media. McGuilty prorogues the Ontario legislature and the media is silent on the issue doing their best to keep it low key. I know it's not written in the history books Liberals like to follow, but when called upon Canada's military can act as the savage warriors that they are just as well as they can deliver humanitarian aid when needed. But the military needs the population to support them, the military does not need witch hunts for alleged crimes they did NOT commit and the military needs to be properly funded for them to do their jobs. To send the military to the most dangerous region of Afghanistan poorly equipped all because some Liberal PM dithered when assignments were being allocated is NOT a sign of good governance. The days of the natural governing party are over. The Liberals have to earn the right to govern instead of believing it is their god given right. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. You want a politician to light the Olympic flame? You want a Liberal Senator to light the Olympic flame? I thought the Olympics were NOT supposed to be politicized? Yet here you are calling for a politician to politicize the games? BTW since Nancy Greene is also a politician (a Conservative appointed Senator) she too should NOT be the one who lights the Olympic flame. If she was to be selected this too would come off as political. You should stick to your original intuition and have someone like Gretzky, Nash or Howe light the flame. But none of these guys have roots with the Olympics. How about choosing someone with traditional Olympic roots? Or better yet how about choosing an unknown, like a young child to light the flame (you know like they did in Calgary in 1988). Nah ... that would not work. It's much better to choose a Liberal Senator. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. You forgot to include Willie O'Ree in your picture (as well as forgetting many others). Willie was the first black man to play in the NHL (he made his debut in the 1958 season). Was he a star? No ... he was not good enough to be considered a star player. But he did not play in the NHL because he was black. He played in the NHL because he had the skill and the talent to compete at the NHL level. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Agreed it is real and it is one of the most brain dead policies Leftist have ever come up with. There are not enough white people in the NBA, there are not enough Orientals in the NBA, there are not enough East Indians in the NBA ... whine whine whine ... Where is the racial equality in the NBA? How come there is no affirmative action in the NBA? Oh I know, maybe there is no racial equality in the NBA because the people running the NBA are not as stupid as the people running governments. There is no affirmative action in the NBA and as a result the best basketball players in the world (regardless of their race) are given the jobs. Yes affirmative action is real, it is real stupid. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. How about "let's just talk about racism" instead of isolating it to one group. Or do you have your own agenda here where your blinders prevent you from seeing what is going on out there? I don't give a damn what race someone is, what religion they follow (as long as they keep their beliefs to themselves). I do however care that the most qualified person be given the opportunity above all others no matter how politically incorrect, no matter how much against affirmative action it may appear to be. If those who are not the most qualified are not happy with the cards they have been dealt, then I must ask what are they doing about it? Are they being pro-active towards making themselves more talented and more marketable? or are they simply sitting back whining to the world what victims they are and using their racist card. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Big thing of what? I wasn't even contributing to this thread until someone decided they absolutely needed to bring up something that happened hundreds of years ago. Then I stepped in saying the "African Slave Traders were responsible for uprooting Africans". WTF does African Slaves have to do with modern day Tea Baggers? Want to talk about racism in the modern world, then yes let's talk about racism in the modern world. Racism exists in many cultures. It's just popular among Leftists to bash white racism since bashing the other racism does not mesh with "affirmative action" idealogy. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. What do some of you people want? There are injustices going on all over the place (past and present). There has always been a ruling class and contrary to what leftists think, there will continue to be a ruling class. If you are not part of the Bilderberg Group (I am not part of it), then you are NOT part of the ruling class moving forward. Don't blame me a white male for what happened in Africa centuries ago just as don't blame modern day Germans for what the Nazis did, etc, etc, etc. Racism is not good ... but ... "Affirmative Action" is also not good. I wish people would just start taking responsibility for their own actions for a change and stop relying on governments to manage every aspect of your lives. Sure there may be some racist Tea Party folks, but there are racists all over the place. I live in a part of my city dominated by the Chinese and you better believe that they practice their own form of racism. Since I myself am not Chinese, my neighbors want nothing to do with me and they do whatever is in their power to ensure I am excluded from their community. But just because the Chinese won't give me the time of day, doesn't mean I need to view myself as a victim. Suck it up cup cakes. Stop viewing yourselves as victims and stop trying to label the present generation as responsible for what people who are no longer alive did in the past. Sure we can recognize past injustices and not try to repeat them. But this white male (as well as the present day whites in Europe and NA) had nothing to do with the African slave trade hundreds of years ago. Good grief ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Some say that FAR 91.103 "is the most important aviation safety regulation in existence". It states: "Each pilot in command shall, before beginning a flight, become familiar with all available information concerning that flight. This information must include ... blah blah blah" GPS is a wonderful tool. But one must do more than just plan from point A to point B. Who knows what was going on in the cockpit of the Cirrus. Did they have their noses down in the instruments? Were there fuddling with gadgets? Were they simply distracted talking to each other about the incredible views flying over the front range? Who knows? But shit happens fast up there. Complacency kills. I was flying over Lafayette one day (heading from Jeffco towards Longmont) when I put my head down to look at my instruments for a few seconds. When I looked up I noticed an aircraft approximately 1/2 mile away from me on a collision course. I immediately turned right and it was only after I started my turn did the other pilot see my profile and they turned. The airspace over northwest Denver is challenging airspace. It is some of the more busy GA air traffic in the entire USA. There are aircraft coming and going from Jeffco transitioning from different altitudes. There are the glider tow operations in Boulder and the skydiving in Longmont. If pilots are not aware of the challenges of this airspace, then they are not following FAR 91.103. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. As long as they realize it was "African" slave traders who did the kidnapping. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Pick up a Denver sectional and you will see that Boulder Municipal Airport is a glider tow airport. If the Cirrus pilot was not aware of this, then he violated an FAR. When I did my flight training on Colorado's front range a few years back (Jeffco was my home base), my instructor would chew my ear off if I was not constantly monitoring the airspace (Denver's front range is a pretty busy area). Plus while there is nothing saying I could not fly over Boulder's airport, I was strongly advised not to do it. Why? because of the glider operations. Radios are valuable when landing and taking off and sure radios can also be used at anytime during the flight. But radios were not the cause of this accident. There is a reason why FARs exists and this Cirrus pilot was complacent with these very same FARs. Alex had the right of way. Complacency kills ...
