Yeah....those median strips are something else. I had to crab on final also, but at least my canopy didn't close on me ! Marc, you did a great job riding it out and working the problem. And deep down, you know you have to get back up......and the sooner the better. Seems to me that you learned a few lessons on that jump....... Don

My name is Don, I'm 43, and weigh 205 lbs. I have 72 jumps, and my SSN is 3**-6*-5***. Last Wednesday at the Lowes Food store on Westchester Drive in High Point, NC, at approx. 8:13 pm, I went through the Express checkout line with 13 items, when it was clearly designated as "12 items or less". I have been racked with guilt ever since. Also, on Nov. 23rd of this year, just outside of Pike's Peak in Colorado, somewhere between 3:18pm and 3:30pm, at longitude 33 degrees 12 minutes 13 seconds north, and 59 degrees 43 minutes 29 seconds west, I plan to do an illegal B.A.S.E. jump. Please notify the proper authorities..... Don

I can really only remember thinking of two things while trying to choose a spot to set it down -- 1) "Okay, here are the options....trees, or 4 lanes of rush-hour traffic, or.....HEY ! How about that nice, soft-looking, unoccupied strip of grass right there ?" 2) " Now, WTF was that he said in the FJC about *crabbing into the wind* ?"

I like that pic, Brandon....where was it taken ? Here's mine....same at home as at work. Southeast Airport in Greensboro, NC was where i did my S/L training. I took this on jump #11 with a one-time use Kodak, hence the poor resolution (the median strip is where I landed on my very first jump). I like looking at it at odd moments of the day.....if I concentrate on it, it takes me away from my desk and back up into the blue... Don

Clay is right on the money. I use the batting gloves if it's under 30 degrees, but the polypro is too warm for me. I've never worn more than a long-sleeve t-shirt and a pair of jeans under my jumpsuit......guess I'm just hot-blooded ! Don
