Who in the H*** are these groups you guys are naming ? Some of them sound like characters from "Lord of the Rings", or something !! I guess Iflyme, Triple F, and myself ARE the dinosaurs of these forums......maybe you young whipper-snappers should pay heed to our knowledge -- I mean, we've been around longer, and heard it all, so our opinion SHOULD be the ONLY one that matters !!! at the end of the rainbow !! AFTER : 1) 6 months of "student" status, 2) 6 static-lines, 3) 20 freefalls (some REALLY ugly), 4) 6 stand-ups, 5) 2 heavy-duty butt bounces, 6) 1 off-DZ landing in the median strip of a highway, 7) 1 off-DZ landing in Farmer McNasty's cow pasture, 8) 7 all-day waits for the wind to die down, 9) 5 all-day waits for the clouds to rise/burn-off, 10) 4 all-day waits for the rain to clear, 11) 3 truly spectacular high-speed cart-wheeling PLFs, 12) 13 maimed, slow-of-foot obese children, 13) 5 cases of beer for various firsts/f***-ups, 14) approx. $1300.00 for course fees and jumps, 15) 1 DZ closing and transfer, 16) numerous laughs and good-times, 17) and dozens of tips and words of encouragement from the Dropzone.com regulars, I am now an "A"-licensed skydiver. Thanks for all the help, folks -- you made it a lot easier...... Don (for David Shanks -- rest in peace; I loved you, man.)

Hey all -- First official post on the new site -- BEER !! (thanks, Sangiro, for building a crutch for my hopelessly out-dated compooter !) I've done some sit-fly on my last 2 jumps. The first came about by accident - somehow, I got half-way thru my backloop and just stopped in a sit position, and actually held it for about 4-5 seconds. Then on the next jump I TRIED to get in that position again, and it was back-belly-back-belly-side-headdown-etc... all over the place. When I did hold it the first time, it felt pretty good....now i just have to figure out how I did it ! I was really surprised on how fast I was falling -- I got cold feet and went back to belly-down at about 6000 ft, and it was like hitting a wall ! Also, will be buying my first rig in the next couple of weeks -- I'm 6' 1", 215 lbs. If anybody's got a 230-250 sq ft main in a rig that will fit, shoot me an e-mail. The PLF "Head Honcho" (in tribute to our fearless leader !)
