despite your statement I suspect that you consider a group of blonde, blue eyed Caucasians from a group called the Nazis , who beat up a blond, blue eyed Jewish Caucasians to pulp because he's Jewish, to be racist.
-
The statement "All black men have large penises", doesn't necessarily imply that black men are inferior or superior to white men. Notions of inferiority/superiority are essential for something to be considered racism IMO.

Fair enough. I didn't really look into it that much. Mental illness sucks. About the rest of your rant: it's a miscommunication that's mostly due to my sloppy language. The phrase "I suspect" sort of implies that, but not nearly enough to make it clear, I think. There's occasions that I really enjoy the down-fall of a Christian. Ted Haggart, for instance got what he deserved, brought it upon himself even. This individual however, I do not know, I do not know what he stands for, therefore I didn't care much about it. And now I know it was probably a mental issue and not booze and happy pills, I sort of pity him. As for many Christians having a HTT attitude: that leaves a lot of room for those that don't have a HTTA, so that part of your rant isn't even remotely fair, but I guess you just went ballistic, and lost a bit of nuance. And what the fuck is a morality complex?

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/explainer/2012/02/afghan_quran_burning_protests_what_s_the_right_way_to_dispose_of_a_quran_.html When in Afghanistan, do as the Afghans do. It took me less then a minute to learn that there are in fact proper ways to dispose of qurans. If I would want to get rid of my own copy of the Quran, I wouldn't go that extra mile, but if I was a guest in an Islamic nation.....

That's just how you look at it. Too me flaunting SS runes is obviously racist, I'm smart enough to understand that it's different for others, but if I see people pose with an SS rune flag, my first reaction is "They must be racist".
-
Exactely, I also know it when I see it, for example: this is obvious racism: http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/02134/ssFLAG_2134019b.jpg Or is it? Personally I think racism is too big of a deal to be quick and easy with drawing conclusions. Even if I'm sure someone is a racist, I explicitly ask them if they are.

But what if turns out that afro-Americans are in fact generally niggards cheapskates? Well, cheapskate isn't a nice term, but conserving money isn't necessarily a bad thing. Keep in mind that I don't know anything about the tipping behaviour of blacks in the US, so I'm not saying Afro-Americans are cheapskates. But I do know about the tipping behaviour of the ethnicities around here, and there are differences. Especially one ethnicity is considered to be cheap throughout Europe, and I can't say I don't agree at least a bit with that. Sure members of this ethnicity usually don't call it cheap, in fact they often take great pride in their economical ways, but the term cheap isn't completely unfair in regard to this ethnicity. I'm not a racist but I don't think you should deny something about an ethnicity that is partly true just because it might hurt some precious feewings.
-
Race is most probably a human construct and not a biological reality, in other words, there's no different races in our species. So if that's the case in a sense racism becomes a meaningless word. What's called racism is really usually an ethnic issue.
-
Except, of course, your hypothesis doesn't survive European reality where most welfare states do well compared to the non-welfare states and low-welfare states. Welfare states work excellent as long as the population pays enough taxes. Sweden for instance has a social security that'll make Obama weep in horror, but the country is doing fine. And despite the horrific taxes (50%) Sweden is one of the happiest nations on the earth. Obamacare, (for example) is nothing new, in fact calling it Obamacare is almost ignorant. Much if not most of Europe has had "Obamacare" for decades now.

You might be right about that, but often there's some time between the violence and the incident that sparked it. We haven't had the Friday afternoon prayers yet. As for violence as a reaction to quran burnings etc: I think it's very hard (if not impossible) for us to understand which significance things like the quran have to some Muslims. For those it's far worse than some dead civilians.
-
Yes, if you want to hide a Muslim in the White house, take someone who potentially looks the part and listens to the name Barack Hussein. Make sure his last name isn't the same as the name of Enemy of the Stan no 1 Osama, and no one but the smartest people will suspect there's a lot of connection between BHO and Islam. I wouldn't be surprised if BHO doesn't care a lot about his own religion, btw.
-
So the only thing that's between the kids in your house and a loaded fire-arm is a couple of assumptions? Good luck, you'll need it.

Before the Afghans kill the next six Americans over this massacre I would say. That's practical you know, you sacrifice the worthless mass murderer to save the lives of the good guys. Note that practical isn't necessarily the same as ethical. Maybe you should try to understand what you read. mention the practical solution =/= holding the US to a certain standard. If you try to understand my post you'll actually see that I object to the DP on ethical grounds.
-
With things like this, my opposition to the DP is on rational/ethical grounds not on emotional grounds, so I really can't blame you if you'd like to see him hang. (You're not the only one I must admit ) And of course there's a practical and political side to it too. You can't really sell it to the Afghan public if they don't execute him ASAP and publicly.
-
You're basically right, but unless all the news regarding this is total bullocks, it's completely clear what happened. And yes, call me biassed and emotional, but someone who has, among other things, killed a 3 yo girl and 8 other kids, is a PoS in my book.
-
Not that I would regret it much if this POS would die in an unfortunate accident involving lots of honey, some pickets and rope and an anthill, but technically I'm against cruel and unusual punishment. It is however an interesting idea to see if he should be tried under Afghan law I think. I'm sure that there are factors that contributed to this massacre like stress and stuff, but in the end the main reason for this atrocity is most probably the fact that this guy is a psychopathic sicko. I find it kind of peculiar that people try to redeem hm, especially here on SC were people are crucified over their political believes and lesser "crimes". Come on the guy slaughtered 16 people in cold blood, if there ever was a time to get the (proverbial) hammer and nails out, it's now I think.
-
We'll probably learn that a piece of human waste killed 9 kiddies and 6 other people because he thought it was a good idea at the time. Just make sure that thing never gets out of prison again.
-
And what point would that be?
-
While I do feel emotions while watching movies it doesn't motivate that kind of behaviour in me. That's probably because we're rather introvert an reserved as a people. You might google the phrase "cultural differences" before you damn this topic any further to SC hell.
-
So clapping, cheering, standing and saluting movies makes sense because it makes your job easier?
-
I hardly understand why someone would do such pointless things but that's due to cultural differences, I guess. Saluting a bundle of light projected on a screen is just too.... unpragmatic for my taste, I guess.

Santorum Song - Believe it or not, this is real!
Marinus replied to quade's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah I mixed up some terms. As for the rest of your post, that's just nonsense. The US only saves the day when it's in its own interest, not because the US is on a mission to spread equality, happiness and liberty. And there's nothing wrong with that, and even to till this day the Liberation after WW II is our national holiday, but you shouldn't make things nobler than they are. Also you take credit for things you didn't do at all, (US liberated the East Bloc? the US brought liberty and the light of civilization to most Asians? When exactly? and you sell an unjust war because you needed oil and that left an enormous pile of dead Iraqis as a noble cause.
