  4. I actually found this earlier in hopes that it would. I found that it has a lot of information regarding the organizing the judging around such an event (I'm positive this has never been followed for establishing a dropzone.com record unless by coincidence). Unfortunately, there is next to nothing with regards to what needs to transpire within the skydive itself. Let me know if I missed something though.
  5. Thanks Bigun this helps a lot. Sounds like fun. But if it goes to shit I have a feeling it's going to hurt.
  6. I actually looked for that and couldn't find anything? Where can I find it?
  7. Yeah I wasn't very comitted to that. Really? I have seen so many hybrids in which hangers were able to get vertical under the flat flyers but didn't ever achieve stability. Usually by the 5th second they would basically cork and pop up above the formation. I'd say almost anyone could hang for at least 3 seconds just by tucking up briefly but that hardly reflects that they performed their role adequately. Excellent point. I will add it. Although I'm not sure I'd agree the stingers should preplan where and how they sting the base.
  8. In the interest in creating a dropzone.com record category that allow people across skydiving disciplines to participate on equal footing I'd like to establish a new hybrid record category. The following suggestion for guidelines has been posted in the interest of establishing a standard for judging dropzone.com hybrid record attempts. This does not pertain to Hybrid RW (turning points between two or more complete hybrid formations). If the draft is rejected by 25% or more I'll revise it with any generally accepted suggestions and submit another draft in one weeks time. If this gets to the 4th draft and is rejected by 50% I'll just leave it to someone more qualified to establish the standard. 1st draft follows: The attempt may not start at an altitude any higher than approximately 14,000 feet above ground level. The formation must consist of an equal or greater (up to twice) the number of hangers and stingers to people flat flying. The formation of all flat flyers in the base and all hanging hangers must be held for at least 10 seconds. All stinging may only be counted while it is built. This includes consecutive base completions within the same skydive. Stingers must be in either a head down, sitting, or standing (which includes standing on the base) position. A sting must be held for 3 seconds to be counted. One sting per stinger is required or the attempt is disqualified (although more are strongly encouraged). A stinger may sting a stinging stinger Obviously there must be judgable video of all of it.
  9. [PUBLIC MESSAGE] And he has to bring YOU beer why? Sorry TallGuy.. it's not about you here.. it's about Kelpdiver having a good time at the boogie. .sorry to burst your bubble here [/PUBLIC MESSAGE] he he.. you asked for a PM here you got it ballsacker I got a six pack of Sammy coming that says you're wrong. Yep that's right, you're wrong and I'm right. Once again all about me.
  10. I love beer as much if not more than the next guy but I just have to speak up about this. The beer rules do not apply at a boogie with free beer. However... that little piece of information will cost you a six pack of Sammuel Adams to be delivered directly to me at your earliest convenience. Carry on. And please send hate mail for disclosing that via PM. I wouldn't want to see this thread get bogged down with it.
  11. Haha I don't even remember announcing that I was planning to be at Rantoul this year. Good assumption seeing as I wasn't there last year. But yeah I'm game.
  12. As if I'd miss the first tailgate jump plane in NorCal in about a year.
  13. It's not about my needs. Well... actually.. yeah it is.
  14. Oh great! Lock up your women everyone!!!
  15. Yeah yeah, blah blah blah yackety smackety What I really want is some input on how to judge hybrids. At this point I'm about ready to post my draft as a poll in the General Skydiving section. But I was really hoping to get some input first. When I start touting the draft as being the DZ.com end all be all for judging hyrbid record attempts I don't have want to have people call "bull shit!" and be the only one taking heat for it and defending it.
  16. Haha you are going to get in trouble with livendive. You are supposed to try to talk people out of going by telling em' all about the warm canadians and too much beer. Frickin amateurs. Sheesh!!!! Yeah that's one way to go, however having just downsized my canopy I think I'm going to try to downsize my beer gut. My goal is 20 lbs before LP. Also be warned. I just got a new RW suit with more drag for the almost sober loads. I will not be taking any more shit from jdobleman a.k.a. Mad John for going low this year. How does this affect you. More drag = bigger burble. The gravity well just keeps expanding.
  17. Depends. Are you planning to skydive where you are stationed. I was stationed at Ramstein and LOVED it. But there was no drop zone close by and the ones that were remotely close by were pretty small.

    Haiku?

Dieting Today I have to lose twenty pounds almost Lost Prairie Its way too high there landing my new canopy I'll be eating cow poop.
  19. So it looks like I'll be flying into Kalispell. I'm thinking of renting a car there this year so I won't need to be picked up at the Airport and can go to the lake whenever I like. I don't want to pay for the car by myself. It'd be nice to share the car between myself and two other people and split the charge Anyone else flying in that wouldn't mind chipping in (like $100 flat each) for a bit of mobility? PM me if you are interested.
  20. Oh I chose this user name because.. Umm well... Yeah.
  21. Sometimes I like to freefly in my birdman pantz and a long sleeve T. For sure it's a ton of drag. Really helps when trying to get head down. What I don't like about it is that it is so flimsy it flaps around like crazy. Also ZP doesn't exactly breath very well. So on a hot day you definitely don't want to be walking around in it.
  22. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder if she is single? I've never been with I woman I could climb before.
  23. Do you mean "everyone must be on at the same time"? No. I'm thinking So long as the stinger can make at least one 3 second dock on the built base (with hangers hanging) at some point during the skydive their part is successful.
