  1. it works :-) i've bought it, tested it, and are ready o fly :-) thank you for replying Caren
  2. hi, is there somebody who knows if it is possible to start the analoque-in function (so recording via audio-video-in, no dv-in) using a cameye? I tried but it does not seem to work and I have to use the display to start recording (not really an option when youa re in the air...) I need the function since I will start using a bullet-cam with trv33 on my stomach. Caren
  3. hey gadget, are you putting on some skirts and fly with the girls? by the way cookie, do you need a camera-woman? for europe? Caren
  4. cheapest TRV33 I could find on the internet today is euro 736. For the TRV22 they as 699. See http://www.pick2pay.nl/ Although it is an inetrnet shop, they also have a normal adres where you can get your ordered system (in Elst, gelderland, approx 1.5 hours by car from the border of belgium) Caren
  5. what do you consider 'cheap'? last time I had a look they were a lot more expensive in belgium than in halland (where I live...) can you get a TRV33 for around 750 euro? if so, please tell me where Caren
  6. Sorry, but this model is too new, and it looks like it won't be possible to enable DV-in. In the older models of Sony, it was possible to enable DV-in by changing some bytes in the system's software (using a PC and a special program) but Sony changed the way of enabling DV-in by making it a hardware-action, so no onger hooking your camera to a PC and there-you-go By the way: enabling your DV-in would officially compromise your rights on garantuee, (but I have to see the first example of sony NOT helping somebody with such a camera....) Caren
  7. I've done it :-) making a 3D movie myself, using two camera's and a lot of time. See my website. Note that the 4 minutes movie on DVD took me over 50 hours to make ...... (note: the learning effect will make another movie easier....) Caren
  8. hi, I fly with a wingload of 1.3, which is roughly the same as the people in the formation. Have filmed 2 way's as well as a 27-way with it, and no problem. Just use the burble if you go to fast or to high, use your muscles (learn to front-riser :-) and it is always nice to have some lift in case you want to make nice shots from above&behind. My rule-of-thumb : stay as close to the wingload as the formation flyers, and you should be OK. Caren
  9. hi neil, what kind of lens are you using with your camera? After my first reaction (see above) I did some reading on the site you presented, and it looks better than I thought, so i am seriously considering byuing one. But not sure of the lens. I was using a .45 lens on my sony cam, not sure what the AOV (angle of view) is... looking at the internet site of rfsolutions, i think i need a 2.9 mm? (130 aov)? Caren
  10. although it is small, and for my neck it would do wonders (see also http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=780508;#780508 but for me it is no option (just like the monkey-kam bay the way): (quote from the site) Your camcorder MUST have AV INPUT CAPABILITY, otherwise known as ANALOG INPUTS. If you are buying a new camcorder, look for one with Analog Inputs. This is to say that you must be able to record TO your camcorder FROM your TV. This is the definition of AV INPUT CAPABILITY. You can NOT use the DV Inputs on your camcorder if they are in the form of IEEE 1394 or FIREWIRE. NO FIREWIRE CONNECTIONS CAN BE USED I am still looking for a not too expensive firewire camera, something like the sony DFW-sx900 http://www.1394imaging.com/products/cameras/dfwsx900/ but then cheaper. I have not found something like that... Caren
  11. thanks for the response I did not yet put in on my website, family is watching that too What happened is that I had a weekend with 10 camera CRW jumps (filming the new dutch record ). first of all, I made all jumps those day's with video AND photo camera. The latter is a heavy one (Nikon 8008) and normally I only use this one for one or two jumps a day/weekend. Then secondly, one of my openings resulted in a MAJOR twist, with my head to my chest. Since I had to know where I was flying (and not going into the formation...) I used all my normal and adrenaline-strenght to pull my head through the twist. I think that that was the incident that resulted in the real pain... Afterwards I jumped 3 times (I just had to film the record...) using paracetamol to ease the pain. The night and day after proofed to be very painfull, and the feeling of my left thumb was gone. To make a long story short, after seeing some doctors, I received better painkillers, and was diagnosed with a hernia. That's all 6 weeks ago, and the pain is gone (already for 3 weeks) and today I almost have a normal feeling in my thumb. I am getting physiotherapy to strenghten my neck it is the neck.... yep, my lightning has already been adapted by my good friend the rigger, no more spider but split-slider. he tested it himself and told me it opens like a baby About the video equipment: this is a very good reason to finally buy that supersonic digital photocamera which is half as heavy as my nikon. Furthermore we are looking for a split-camera (with firewire interface) with the lens on my helmet, and recording part somewhere on my body. my other canopy (for freefall) is a spectre, did not use it yet for CRW filming... maybe also an option future: i will take it easy for the next three month (its too cold anyway :-) and decide in march on how I feel. But giving up skydiving is not yet in my vocabulary.... caren Caren
  12. a couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with a cervicaldiscal hernia of C5-C6 (via an MRI scan). I'm recovering rather fast, no pain, just a minor twinkling in my left thumb left. But the big question is: what to do with skydiving?. Currently I am having physiotherapy to strengthen my neck muscles, but nobody can give me a good advise on how to go on, because they do not know what skydiving really means..... So is there somebody out there with the same experience (hernia) or (real) advise? Caren
  13. just a note: the flat top pro hinge is not additional but a replacement of the original (for older helmets) or standard (on the new ones) regards Caren
  14. yeah, I had problems with nero, especially with the DVD+R disks. the finalizing stuff does not always work. but now I just stick to using it as pure writing software, so authoring with DVDlab, testing it on a DVD+RW, and then just copying the directory to a DVD+R (making sure 'finalize' is ON) Caren
  15. I'm using DVDlab, can be found on http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/ which will give you more info and a working executable. The software is very good in authoring your DVD, to burn I just use Nero... caren Caren
  16. Yesterday, October 19th, we beat the old record by 10 people, going form a 17-stack to a 27 diamond with stinger. More info can be found in the next days on http://cato.makes.it Caren
  17. well, I could have told them that they should have bought a Philips :-) (guess were I am collecting my salary :-) Caren
  18. go and see TMPGEnc, its from Pegasys, you can find a freeware version via the pagasys page http://www.pegasys-inc.com/e_main.html. In all tests I have seen this tool is top and considered to be a standard encoding tool. it can encode mpg1 and mpg2, SVC, etc etc. I use it for making dvd's. together with dvdlab http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/ Caren
  19. but sometimes a shadow can also be great to watch and video: Caren
  20. It worked! some time a go I posted my plans to make a skydiving stereo-3D movie. Well, after 55 hours of struggling, I've succeeded, and proud to say that I have now a 4 minute 3D movie (anaglyph) 'Its a kind of Magic' The movie shows some CReW footage, shot with two camera's and edited together. You can see some pictures at my site: http://CaTo.makes.it and I will also extend this page with a snapshot of the movie itself. Of course you will need red-blue glasses to see the effect. I think this is a worlds first.... The first-show was at the dutch nationals, you can see a nice picture on the site, with all spectators having those 'silly' glasses on :-) Caren
  21. [reply AFAIK: Maria ended up with line burns, Roel's canopy had a little damage but the other guy's canopy (green one) had a big tear in the topskin. He landed it tho. So, no reserves (this time). nope, this was a different one, this was the wrap on saturday, and at the end nothing happened (it could have been worse....) everybody landed using their main canopy :-) Caren
  22. as I said... see link. But follow the 'what's new' link, I see that i forgot to edit the cf-spektakel home page... Will do that tonight Caren
  23. first pictures just downloaded, follow the link via 'what's new' or via the cf spektakel link on the home page Caren
  24. Hi! congrats Saskia! (now you can really work on your camera-slot ;-) I will try to post some pictures taken from my video (photo-camera broke down...) later this week on my site Caren
  25. last night I put the two tracks together, made them black and white and did the 'tint' trick. It looks like I have something now. Although I am missing red-blue glasses :-) So I ordered them and hope to have them beginning of next week There was something weird with the footage that I can not explain: in stead of shifted from left to right, the footage seems to be shifted up and down.... but the cameras were definitely placed next to each other.... zooming was equal, so I can not explain. But am curious of the whole trick will work.... Last question: the footage is no without color.... thats not what I really want. I know that red-blue also works for color pictures, but how to do THAT? Caren
