You mean this one (picture 9)? the attempt was made at the CF Spektakel @ Teuge last year the second picture (8) showed the rest of the jump..... two reserves as I can remember. I should have a copy of the movie also, will search for it so i can share Caren

My boss is sending me two days to Andover..... work all day, but perhaps a few minutes left at night to make use of the cheap dollar (compared to the Euro) and get me a lens for the new rebel XT..... But I need some help finding a good store around. Anybody got an idea? (webshop is no deal: i am only there for two days, and staying in a hotel) Caren
-
Do you use the auto-white balancing state, or are you using some custom, or one of the other pre-defined, settings? Caren
-
but then the one-million-euro question remains: D70S or Rebel 350D? nikon: + THE camera brand around, I grew up with nikon and all my other cameras and lenses are nikon - heavy and slightly more expensive 350/rebel + small and cheap - i have no other suitable canon lenses so beside the ever-on-going religious discussion between canon and nikon lovers: which camera is REALLY more suitable for skydiving? looking at * quality * speed * endurance ???? Although we have a small country (the Netherlands), we do have a CRW page :-) Caren
-
where did you buy your camera? I would ask for a refund: that vignetting (black on the edges) should not occur, or do you use a very wide angle? When I received my first camera from rfconcepts, it showed vignetting, and I could return it and it was replaced without discussion. Caren

shot was taken by another cameraman while doing a two-way stack (CRW) so no mounting in the canopy (yet ) Caren

i know, but better waste space then waste money: I had the FTP already since I used to jump with a normal setup, but after I hurt my neck, that was not possible anymore, and I did not want to buy a new helmet rightaway.. And, I can mount a still camera on top. Furthermore, it gives you funny reactions in the plane: "hey, you forgot your camera!" , or (whispering from the back) "does she know she forgot her camera??? " Caren
-
here you see my setup, I have integrated it into the front of the FTP (the little black circle on the left). By the way, this is a photo from alst year, today I have two bullet-cams, one on the left and one on the right, with different angles and a switch on the back of the helmet to switch during air-time Caren

It might save your neck but its specs say: Resolution: 380 TV lines About half of standard today... like I said good for specality jumps but probably not usefull for selling and the such... Scott C. see my website: cato.makes.it and look in the about section. Even professional camera people do not see real differences between my shots and shots made with a normal camcorder. I've amde compilation video's with shots from both types of camera's in it: no difference noticed by any of the audience, ever. So using a good bullet cam, and a good camera, is not onlys aving your neck, but also giving acceptable (and better!) quality pictures regards Caren

Caren, How do you switch between the cameras? Some sort of switch? - Kristian yep, i have a switch at the back of my helmet, and can move it between left and right. Since i usualy only shoot CRW video, i have my hands already up in the ait (toggles) so the movement to the switch is small and not interfering my flight. caren Caren

hi, I am using the bullet cam(s) for over a year now, and are veryhappywith it. recently I installed a second cam on my helmet, with a wider lens, and can switch between the two cameras in flight. The coloration you are mentioning is not recognizable to me. But that can also be because I usualy do not have big differences in light, filming merely CRW. But try to replace the camera at rfconceps, they have great end user support (I had to chnage mine because I saw vignetting with my first cam) And about the LANC: you have to use a cameye sports in combination with the recorder, this will enable you to have a record button that directly starts recording. Note that the recoder has to be in video mode hope this helps Caren

i thought i was adding usefull information, thanks for your stimulating answer.

Guess you mean my rig... I am jumping this rig in this state for over 3 years now, with some 600 CRW jumps (so hard openings and loooong canopy rides = stress on the main lift) without any problems. Idea came from the master rigger at our DZ, and it is far much cheaper than buying a new rig. And I am more convident about it than doing any sort of tiggling on my mainlift itself.... By the way, my (Javelin-) rig has been checked on different (international)DZs, nobody ever made any remark on it. attached some photo's, the two rings are perfect for hooking yourself to the savety strap on the plane....

Since it was a technical malfunction of the camera, it was replaced without questioning, and I received a new one, with same sort of lens, without deformation, so it can be done Caren
-
Well, for me it is completely the opposite: I received my cam and the recording showd some deforming around the edges. I telephoned RFconcepts and they told me to send the camera back. Without questioning I received a fully new working camera the week after, and the refunded every expenses (like postages) i did make. So I will definitly buy another camera with them. I fact, I will order an extra this winter, so I can have two camera's in my helmet, with different lenses, so I can switch during flight Caren

you can take a look at my website, http://cato.makes.it especially the about-section I have been jumping a bulletcam frm rfconcepts now for almost 1 year and I LOVE IT. Don't be scared about them talking about a lot of gear around your waist: i have just a small package, strapped around my waist, under my rig, with a Sony trv33 and a separate bullet-cam battery. No problemo Be sure you buy a cemera-recorder (like my rv33) that can - record analogue - is a sony : can use a cameye-sport the latter is very important since starting recording via the screen is almost impossible when you are about to leave the plane. attached is a photo with me, my camera and my recorder on my belly if you want to have extra info, please ask or leave me a PM Caren

Small digital camera with remote shutter release?
CaTo replied to tkhayes's topic in Photography and Video
hmm, i as looking also for such a camera, but my biggist concern is the possibility of using manual focus, AND the fact that the camera has no automatic shutdown period (can be set to 0). This beacuse I want to use it with CRW, and automatic focus will slow things down dramatically, so "ah, nice formation, wait: push the remote button----wait----wait----click (ah boy, they broke up already)" so the 1-million dollar question is: does this sony camera has manual focus and a configurable shutdown period? caren Caren -
Hey remko, you beat me to it Thanks for translating if you don't mind I will incorporate it into my own site We al ready have people comming from the UK, Germany, belgium, so join the fun. But remember: first things first: we want to beat the Dutch record Just for information: the http://CaTo.makes.it site is up and running again after a few days of outage. I will be searching for a new (own) URL, to prevent this from happening. see you at teuge, and hope for good (photo-) weather. Caren
-
and since that site hardly shows any pictures of the Women's record attempt, go and see http://CaTo.makes.it and go via the 'whats new' page to the womens' pictures o(or directly to record (Thanks hans!) see you somewhere under a canopy Caren

I am still using film. Well, actually slides (dia). Not only because the camera itself is lighter, but also because of scanned slides still give me a much higher resolution then any (affordable) digital camera can give me: over 24 Mpixels. And yes, I know people have to wait for a couple of day's to see the result, but I do not get complaints.... :-) Caren
-
and now for something different: me myself and I under a canopy, since my speciality is CRW By the way, my camera is the small round thing at the left of my helmet, and the recorder is on my belly. Caren
-
so I guess PAL is better :-) I have been using a bullet cam for almost a year now and there is no difference on first sight. People looked at it and did not notice it was bullet-cam-quality, it was just plain skydive video quality to them. I already made video-compilations with DV and Bullet-CAM pictures in it, and nobody saw any difference between the pictures. Mind you, there is a Sony CCD in it, the same as used in the Sony cams. There is just one single problem I see and have with the cam: grabbing still pictures from it is giving you not that good of a quality as with a normal DV tape: more interlacing. But look at my website: all grabbings from 2004 are made with the bulletcam! Caren

NAH, it's OK I still have the letter Skydiving sent me when they published one of my articles. I just received 'my' letter yesterday, together with a copy of skydiving magazine of september, and YES, it feels good to see your photo on page 3 Caren
