    Daughters

I am not a parent, but I am thankful for mine. My given name is Noah Kane. Yet, from the time I was a little child my mother called my Nova. (She kept on say I had a numbing personality!) Now over a decade latter all my family members call me that. And also my friends. Though I've realized this has nothing to do with your situation. I think I've made you a dumper person for reading this! Whatever your daughter decides to go with, I think it is important for her that you support her decision. It will help both her and you in the future with tougher choices
  2. Where can I get one of those?
  3. If everyone's in a broke boat then how come it hasn't sunk by now??!?! GROAN Yeah I know but I couldn't resist Did you hear that! I think the boat is sinking. But the question is, does one go down with the ship. Or does one jump out of the ship?
  4. Can someone help me understand something here. If the Department of Motor Vehicular allows people of 16 y/o have drivers license, why doesn't the USPA allow then young people to skydive? Last time I checked car accidents where one of the largest causes of death for people ages 16-25. It just doesn't make any sense to me. It seems to be a double standard. By placing an age limit due to "BSR" does this mean that USPA doesn't trust the DMV by allowing 16 y/o to drive?
  5. It sure sounds like your raising a future skydiver! Keep up the good work!
  6. I just told some one at work that I am on a new Fad diet. What is it? they asked. Being a broke assed Skydiver, no money for food=much lower wing loading Yup! I know that feeling! I've actually have gone to a paint supply store to pickup one of those paint swatches of green. You know the ones that have 5 different shades of green one them. I've taped this card to the fridge. If the bread is in the first 3 light green shades, its edible. If its in the the last 2 shades I throw it out.
  7. I can hartly save money for jumps, let a lone magazine Subscriptions. Isn't this sport just great though. Everyone seems to be in the same boat. Broke!!!
  8. Interesting. My States Farm insurance broker told me to go to hell. He said he doesn't want his name being associated with skydiving. Stupid whuffo. So what did you do have convince the broker to add skydiving on the insurance?
  9. Here is something that my brother-in-law send me.

  19. If I had something like that I'd hug it several times a day.
  20. What about robbing many, many 7-11 across your State. I'm sure after robbing about 100,00 7-11 stores you'll have enough money for the gear. But what do you do for jump money and beers?
  21. Well welcome to DZ.com. As you have mentioned, there are many great people in this sport. I've found that its because we are all kind of a family. We're the only ones that know what skydiving is all about. To me, skydiving is more then a sport. ITs all about choosing life, not death. Its about freedom! Welcome to the DZ.com family!
  22. Well, the only bad spot I've had in my early jump career happened on my 10th jump. I was flying in the DZ's C-182. I was the only student jumping this day, so the plane was loaded with seasoned vets. There was another plane in the air (C-208) with seasoned jumpers. Both planes were planning an 8-way. Since I was the student (this occurred before I know how to spot), The JM told me to exsit the aircaft. There was some low cloud coverage, so I couldn't see the DZ. But the JM assured me the DZ was below the plane. So stupid me leaped out of the plane. I landed 8 miles from the DZ. When I made it back to the DZ, after a long walk and a kind motorist, the JM apologies to me for the shitty spot. He was more concerned with catching up to the 208, and doing the 8-way. For me, the answer is yes. Bad spots do exsit, if Jms have other things on their minds.
  23. Just got back from watching Harry Potter. It was a good movie. Though the spider scene freaked the hell out of me. (I hate spiders!) And now I can't sleep. Just say a spider run across the floor. God Help Me
