Something went wrong on my AFF 1 Jump???

Because your sense isn't common. Shut up and jump cupcake. alright I like that advice Doug -
Makes more sense now, you left that bit out. You don't have to convince anyone. Sure we all know it's possible, the record horizontal speed (average over 1,000 vertical meters) is 175mph, and that wasn't boosted by a dive before hand. You did say you were getting 120MPH into a 12MPH headwind when maxing out your glide (and 140MPH is easy), this is also highly unlikely. on patrol again I see!

Something went wrong on my AFF 1 Jump???

Here's some things you could learn: - Any FF body position is NOT the desired body position for AFF. It is a skill that should be used ONLY if absolutely necessary...and then you ask yourself a question....Why are my belly skills and/or judgement skill so lacking that I needed the FF on that AFF jump? - It's always best to refrain from giving advice and commenting on things you know little to nothing about. - Know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. so when the jump is happening going into a fast kneefly or sit to catch a student is a skill you'd use if all else fails? It doesnt matter if you beat yourself up for not wearing some lead about it later...cypres can fail better do whatever it takes... why need an AFFI rating to talk about this its common sense? -

cutting through your layers of negativity and sarcasm is hard man...hard to even have a discussion with you man oh well there was probably nothing to learn here for anybody wanting to be an AFF instructor or wanting to be a better aff instructor -

You should go to that DZ and show them how it is done. They would be for ever in your debt for sharing your huge amounts of internet skydiving experience. kind of a retarded comment Doug???...do you disagree with my comment that you can fall fast or slow in a kneeflying position....fast or slow in a headdown... I've sitfly/backflyed with people on their belly before so its possible to match all sorts of orientations with different speeds. -

anything doesnt "have" to be a fast position I've seen people orbit around on their head pretty slowly. It (knee-flying) certainly can be a very fast position (not as fast as sit but getting there depending on the positioning of the legs). -

If they can't match fall rate of their students why are they AFFI???? Fine to play a guessing game but shouldnt body position be able to give the AFFI enough range to catch a fast-faller. if you fall slow as an AFFI wouldnt you think you'd learn to knee-fly??? -
lets see some of your recent swoops

looks like fun!

sounds like the instructors failed that level! -
must be you or the people you jump with then because two way belly jumps with a friend are still fun as hell and I have 320 jumps once I realized that you could freefly on your belly - then two way belly jumps became a lot more fun

Thats because you have no idea what goes into being a good canopy pilot. You're entitled to that opinion, however wrong it may be. Ian reread his post, Ian, pretty sure he is saying that he doesnt have the experience to really determine whether its true or not so he'll go along with what the experienced people are saying. You know, and I am not singling you out by any means Ian, but posters in this forum have a real problem with actually reading posts people are making and responding to the content in the post, rather than laying some template over the person behind the post and misreading them as a result.

canon what???

that is an utterly fucking ridiculous waste of money He wants a G3 w/a camera. Datz a G3 w/a camera... Didn't say you had to buy it. yeah word I hear you man...its steep being in the sport needing/wanting to buy new gear....its a waste to me but to each their own somebody has to buy the new stuff so I get it a year later!

if they are a heads up altitude aware jumper who can get stable after being unstable then they are good to go. I would say as soon as they have their A license for some but never for others. Just leave it up to local DZOs/S&TAs to work out amongst their local jumpers. Why the incessant need to make regulations that pervade the macro-community?

Having a whuffo as your significant other
5.samadhi replied to airdvr's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I dont really see whats so difficult about it. I jump once a week and have fun during the day much like I would if I were whitewater kayaking or mountain biking or whatever. Then I come home and spend time with her - works perfectly :) If you work in the sport then I still dont see the problem, its work and your significant other should understand you need to work.
