Cancer Survivor Record Jump

They broke the old record by 2. I believe it's 20 now. -
If I was plowing fields and all of a sudden chicks started falling out of the sky, I'd be thrilled too!!

Sorry to hear about this Doc. should the person wind up at your mercy, I move that we strap your gear on them and then "13.5 - Exit - Exit". And if the gear won't fit, I'll voulunteer my old Vecter and we can attach your canopy to it. Hope you get it returned. BSBD Larry 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

What make's you think your going to be fast enough to "cutaway if needed" ? Once the freebag leaves the container and loosens things up, the main D-bag could be right behind it, and you'll have a deploying reserve and main before you realize it. IMO your increasing your risk by choosing the "2 possible fixes" route. If you cutaway you decrease the chances of anything entangleing with your deploying reserve. That being said, why would you teach your students anything but what you consider to be the best possible solution, regardless of overload, considering what we know about reverting to what you were first taught in times of stress. ohhhh... obviously I teach cutaway and reserve. Added: whoops.. Thanks SkymonkeyONE. I neglected to mention I'm referring to any "have pulled" situation. If nothing has been pulled I teach 'em to go straight to the reserve handle. If in a practice "no pull" scenario they do both, I let it go at that. BSBD Larry 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

And people insecure in their convictions are constantly arguing them to others in hopes of swaying them to their way of thinking, thereby validating themselves in the process. Larry 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

maybe where his lower extremities are concerned. But you'll never convince me he gives a shit about anything given his responses in this post. On a different note, assuming your "the" Kristen: If you answered "Yes", I wish you both the best. BSBD 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

No. But we kinda leave the stage for awhile when we find someone else to play with it. 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

If your anything in person like you are here, don't worry, you won't be. You could have chosen not to post what you knew was going to be an inflammatory opinion. Although the reason why he died is not clear to you, you should reflect on the fact that he did die while serving in the United States armed forces. He died believing he was protecting the rights of people like you and I. That in itself is worthy of respect, not your mindless driveling response. As for usable organs, obviously your heart isn't one of them. BSBD Larry

I was told when I started 10 years ago, and I tell everyone today.... "If your not scared, your stupid." Everybody's scared. The difference is in how they deal with it. BSBD Larry "Pull low and date your rigger's wife."

Congrats to Brad & Joe Lambert on the arrival of their daughter Taylor Skye Lambert 8 lbs, 10ozs on Wednesday. I just spoke with Brad. Joe & Taylor are doing fine and will be coming home soon. I'm going to meet Eric & Brad over at Brad's tonight. We're going to have some booze and put together baby stuff. "Well gee honey, I dunno WHY she keeps rolling out of the crib." I'm sure Brad will send out an email eventually. BSBD 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

More what would you do if? (#3)
Luminous replied to Hooknswoop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
ultimately lies on the riggers shoulders? That doesn't make any sense to me. Should the rigger in fact be questioned his own log book would show when he last packed the rig. And, unless it's the rigger doing it, he can't be held responsible for any pencil pack performed on the rig. This is the responsibility of the rig owner. The pencil back job should ultimately lie on the pencil packers shoulders. (pun intended). BSBD Larry 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock -

NO. NO. NO. In the freefall reference, I'm sure what you refered to as "clouds" was in fact "Industrial haze". BSBD Larry 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock -
Another skydiving related injury. Your weren't skydiving, and you got injured!! On the plus side, besides the neighbor thing, you now have been shown it's safer to skydive than perform any other activity.
