That's what I did. Prior to that, I did the TN shuffle every year. After 6 or 7 years and two jobs, the INS started to get a little suspicious that this was more than temporary. Even with a valid and current TN, I got hassled every time I crossed the border. Edit: PS: [[{{(())}}]] (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

Commonly misused words in dropzone.com forums and rec.skydiving
TitaniumLegs replied to peek's topic in The Bonfire
Yes, that's one of my favourites, too, People are confusing "irrespective" and "regardless". Also, I believe the correct spelling of that non-word is "irregardless". The non word is a double negative since both the prefix "ir" and suffix "less" mean negation. "Expresso" is another one, even though many people spell it correctly, but mispronounce it. Dudette - that is much too low a wingload for her - she'll be up there all day Yeah, I was going to say that would be about 0.248 : 1 wingloading! I'm thinking one of those ram-air kites would be about the right size. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

Are USPA rating recognised in Australia and New Zealand?
TitaniumLegs replied to iam's topic in Safety and Training
That's no longer true. Since tandem was legalized, the FAA now accepts the USPA tandem rating or the manufacturer rating. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me. -
Hey Californians, Enjoy Your 300% Car Fee Hike...
TitaniumLegs replied to Gawain's topic in The Bonfire
Same reason taxes go up as your income goes up (loopholes and shelters notwithstanding): You can afford it. If you've got all that money to throw at a Porsche, you can pay the taxes. I've still got the same POS Jeep I got when I moved here 8 years ago. With the depreciation schedule, I'll be paying ~30% of the baseline. Don't forget - the luxury tax portion of this (the VLF is all luxury tax since it's based on the value of the vehicle) is deductible on your federal income tax. Check with your tax guy. What am I saying? I'm talking to skydivers, the majority of who don't even pay their taxes!! (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me. -

Close. At Skydive Monterey Bay, the roads around the airport are slightly obscured by a slight berm. Most of the nearest houses have trees blocking the line of sight. A few years ago, we had some whuffo call 911 a couple times after seeing the top 3/4 of hook turns. Cops and ambulances would show up asking where the injured jumper was. Then they would try to bill us for the dispatch. We said "When we call, we'll pay." (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

Yup. LH592 11 Feb 93. Frankfurt --> Cairo --> Addis Ababa. Hijacked 45 minutes into the flight. Diverted to Hanover for fuel then flew to New York/JFK. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

You don't. You're not allowed to insert anything that isn't part of the markup offered. That includes any graphics. Kinda sux, but it's to prevent abuse. (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

So, what are the odds of being on a hijacked plane? That's already happened to me. Maybe I should play the lottery. (I know I know. The little balls don't care what flight I was on.) (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

No, it's definitely him. He talks all this trash about Kira being his future girlfriend, then he doesn't even come to see her. She's already a week old, for heaven's sake! (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

Kira's hematocrit has dropped to the point where it no longer requires close observation. The girls are coming home!

Why, thank you all so much for the warm fuzzy feelings. I now understand why some people have such strong belief in God or some other higher power. I'm not sure it's God, but after this, there are some things that are just bigger and more powerful than any of us. To be there when a human is born... Wow. At one point, I felt a presence. To me it was the presence of departed friends - TimmyD and JohnnyLuv. Possibly others, but I know Timmy and Johnny really wish they could be here to touch Kira and Karen T's baby, and of course Timmy's own. In a way, having a child, at least for a father, is like skydiving - words can't really describe adequately; you have to experience it. I've never felt love like this before. I'll let Steph describe how it was - is - for her. Oh, and yes Kira is our first. And yes, there is beer, but you might have to come over to get it. Oh, and you can check her out, too. As far as her jumping and what training method she'll use, that's up to her, but she'll probably have a ton of tunnel time before she's old enough to jump!! If she decides to jump it will be AFF, because that's what Daddy does. Mommy won't let him do tandems any more! Anyhoo, it's way past bedtime. The girls are getting streeted tomorrow, so I gotta get some sleep. Love you all. Peter (>o|-< If you don't believe me, ask me.

When I run D-license events, I don't always require the actual license. The number is usually necessary for the FAA/FSDO-mandated manifest. If your app with valid payment info has been received by USPA, i.e. we know the fax went through, that is usually enough. If you can get them to email you your number, print that and bring it.
