Although I have not sold, I have bought all of my equipment over the net. For payments, I have always insisted in PayPal. I know some don't like it, but they usually offer some protection to the buyer. I think it is up to $500. As well, I have heard many people use escrows. They can be either a rigger, or there are actual escrow services out there... of course for a fee. One thing that really helps out is talking to the person that is buying the item. Buying and selling over the internet is a unique experience. It is much easier to sell to someone who is sitting across from you because if they don't pay, you can take your stuff back. Talking to the buyer builds trust in for both parties involved. One thing that you MUST watch out for is the scam artists. I don't mean to scare you, but if the person says they will send you a cashier's cheque, more than what you want, and they ask you to send the difference... DONT. Where to sell? I have bought stuff from both here on the DZ classifieds and on E-bay. E-bay will charge you a fee. I believe the DZ classifieds are free. I can keep talking about this all night... but I think you probably get the gist. One last thing. Trust your gut. If it seems fishy, it probably is. Make sure you get as much info as they are wanting. Anything else... ask away. Jason

Well, there are actually 2 up there right now. One I think is legit, and one that I believe is not. The one I believe is legit is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7108455627&rd=1 and the one I believe may be bogus is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7108576613&rd=1 I believe the second one is bogus because the person has no feedback, and they are not listing PayPal as an option. Also the title is just a bit... well... fishy :) Once again, if it is legit, and I have accused otherwise, I do appologize in advance.

Um, not sure where you are checking, but it is still on E-bay, and people are still bidding on it.

Ok, here is the posting I saw before, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=7102517074&rd=1 and here is the one that I think is a fraud: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7106455000&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT Now someone, tell me that this is not VERY SUSPICIOUS? Earlier today I saw a set that 'was in a car that a guy bought' Was it that set? All that I can remember was that it was red.

It could be... however this seller was registered on October 7th. That is today. I last saw a listing like this 2-3 weeks ago. I originally thought it was the guy who bought the gear, but like I said, he would have had feedback. It it were the seller from before, he would have had been a member for a few weeks at least. I have sent him an additional e-mail asking for more pics. If he can provide other pics... then it is probably legit. Otherwise, who knows.

I guess I misspoke... I don't think it is stolen gear, I do however think that this ad is an exact copy (word for word) of another set of gear that was sold a few weeks ago. I am still trying to search for that listing, but I can't find it. I also find it suspect when the guy just had the account set up today, and just says I need money. I know we all do, but come on. On top of that, the original posting was sold for around $1800 (if i remember right) and if it was the same person, they would have had atleast one comment on their name. That is why I think it is suspect.

I am a newbie, so I have been watching for gear quite some time. I just saw this on e-bay, and I think it is questionable. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7106455000 I saw the exact same stuff about 2 weeks ago. The description and the pics are the exact same. I contacted the seller, "Dear mug00new, Why are you selling your gear? Have you gotten out of the sport?" He replied: "i need money, let me knwo if you want to buy it?" So... buyer beware! Jason p.s. if this is legit, and I just got spooked, I do appologize to the seller.

Skydive South Sask, in Moose Jaw, SK, Canada. Why? because even though it is run by volunteers, they will jump at any time that there is enough interest. Just get 4 or 5 guys together, and come for a jump. Yah, there is only a 182... but just think about the dollar. Right now, the $1cdn = $.75usd. The only bad thing right now is the weather. Unfortunately the weather has been the shits this year. Ahh well. As for the staff (all volunteers) they make everyone feel welcome... including both students and regulars.

Hello, I was at our Club's AGM the other day and a question was raised: Do we have an emergency response procedures manual? The answer suprisingly was no we do not. As such, I was asked to look around to see if there are any out there and, well is there and can you help us? Things that we are looking for is what if there is an injury, what do we do? What do we do if a student blows 10 miles away? Of course, we use common sense, but what we want to do is look, especially to the new students, that we are safety first. Thank you in advance, Jason Warren

I live here in Southern Saskatchewan (yes I can spell it and pronounce it), and the weather is nice today. We had rain the other day, but from what I can see, the sky is clear today.

What's the most vivid memory about your first jump?
colossus replied to prepheckt's topic in The Bonfire
For my first jump, I was in the C-182 and 2nd to jump. I see the first guy fall away and I am thinking to myself what the heck am I doing here? Of course the first guy was an idiot (a first jump as well) and did not listen to the instructors. As a result, he broke his ankle. Twas a great day other wise! -
All I have to say about calling someone a baby to "encourage" them to jump it that it is not right. If they don't feel good about the jump, bad stuff will happen. I am still learing to jump. One day, I was out at the DZ and I was sitting around all day waiting for a ride. I was about to leave and I was told to get on the next load. I was not ready for the jump and I went reserve. That scared the shit out of me, and I have been back only once since then. I AM going to go back, but, I have to get in the right frame of mind before that. Jumping out of a plane is not a natural thing. I do love it, but again, I have to be ready to do it.

I was watching it last night as well... other than scaring the shit outa my wife that this MAY, how ever unlikely happen, what would you have done to get out of this situation. I think that something like this is extremely unlikely, and if my foot did get caught, I am sure the suit would have ripped. I am sure that this guy who got caught takes up a knife with him from now on!
