Looking to try/buy a crossbraced canopy. I've got 1600+ Jumps, currently jumping a Samurai 120 for the last 400 jumps. I weigh 160 lbs, 180 w/gear. Want to get to 2:1 ratio this season. I do about 500 jumps a year. Real current. Looking for advice. Should I downsize again before trying a crossbrace.........try a crossbrace at my current size........or downsize into a crossbrace. I'm conservative and don't take big risks, I've been hurt bad, but I don't like the idea of continously changing canopies, and there aren't that many people at my DZ with crossbraced canopie to borrow for a few jumps. I destroyed my L4 veribrate 2 years ago and Have L3 - L5 fused together. I was jumping again in 6 months and doing Tandems in 9 and I'm flying camera now. I still have some discomfort in my back from time to time, but not that much. It just takes time to get use to your injury. Don't let anyone tell you that you Can't skydive again. I just copied and sent your post to a friend of mine who isn't on DZ.com. He has the perfect PC for your needs. Old PC5 which had a riser strike and demolised the lens. Sony said it would cost him $800 to fix, so he just bought a new one. Hopefully he still has it and get's back to you soon. I would agree with you, but Derek doesn't come to Mile Hi anymore, he doesn't like our DZO.

My home DZ recently set up an area for High Performance landings away from the general landing area. This area is an east/west landing area only and is suppose to be for those who intend on doing hook turns and who want to practice swooping. Our DZO has basically put it in a few of the regulars hands to self police this area. Those of us who use it regularly are going to set up a practice airblade swoop course. Our DZ is going to grow rapidly with the addition of an Otter this coming season and I sure there will be a lot of newbies wanting to use the High Performance area. SO ANYWAY......I'm opening my self up here for all you Swoopers opinions. I'm looking for any helpful advice you might have to minimize any problems we might encounter. Please relay stories and solutions to known problems. Looking for the best price for either Fuji or Kodak film 200 ASA 24 exposure, and CR-2 camera batteries, and Sony Premium 60 DV tapes. If anyone knows where to get any or all of these items at a great price in bulk, let us know.
