There is no evidence, they sold the steel to India and China. But the videos confiscated from the businesses around the Pentagon could show an airliner . The FAA air traffic controller tapes may also contain some evidence . The black box data from all 4 planes may contain evidence . The circumstantial evidence is also to be considered. If they really wanted to put fear in our hearts, simultaneously blowing up major intersections around a large city would completely paralyze it. They could damn near completely shut down Chicago with 6 small to medium sized truck bombs (Cube van sized, not Oklahoma City sized). For a large impact on the economy they could simultaneously blow several rail and interstate bridges at the Missisipi River . For a more "terroristic" impact they could simply bomb schools, movie theatres , restaurants, shopping malls, etc. These soft target attacks would be simple to pull off . The fact that none of these scenarios has occured in the last decade isn't a tribute to the dilligence of our security personelle but rather an indication that the "terr" threat is non existent or at least very insignificant.

I don't know if that 2.4 trillion figure really moves you much but to me that's some considerable cash!!! I built my chicken coup for about 13 dollars and get 3 eggs every day and a half. I set out my garden this year at a total cost of about 58 dollars . I've gorged myself on the harvest and my gal has canned enough food to provide for us through the winter. 2.4 Trillion dollars. That is the amount Donald Rumsfeld announced to the world the Pentagon couldn't account for the day before 9-11. Not exactly pocket change lost in the sofa cushions but I guess it kinda is. No one is investigating where that money went as the accounting department got the wallop on 9-11. Still Rummy announced that the Pentagon couldn't account for 2.4 Trillion. No one has investigated. If you and I decide to not file tax returms this year can we expect the same lack of investigation? Where would the governments' investigative money be better spent? Investigating the evaporization of the 2.4 Trillion at the Pentagon or investigating the shmuck who didn't pay up the $2,000 he might owe?

I don't believe the distinction has to do with quantity but rather purpose. Perhaps first we should agree on a definition of terrorism. In my mind ( and i'm first to admit it has been compromised by hard drugs and wild times ) terrorism is a tactic by which one attempts to achieve political goals by instilling fear of reprisal into those who may stand in the way of those political goals. In other words, if an action ( assasination at the El Al ticket counter) isn't accompanied with political demands and threats of more of the same that action isn't terrorism , it's merely a shooting .
