The bible has been through a lot of translations. The new testement over 20 and probably more for the old. Lawyers were undoubtably some of the translators, being part of the literate few. And I wouldn't be surprised if the translators added their own "improvements" to the language. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. The universe is so big that the odds say there must be life out there. I say the proof that they're intelligent is the fact they have'nt contacted us. My cynical view is that nothing will change much because the ones voted in are in the same pocket as the ones voted out. It does not matter wheather it's Dem or Rep or Lib or Cons or whatever. There is enough money some where to buy their attention/loyalty/vote. Change whatever labels you want but, "By any other name a turd still smells like shit." Just thought this was worth seeing again.

When was the last election that you DIDN'T hear or make that statement? Ever since I started paying attention I have heard it in every single election. I say, "A plaque on both their houses." I would like to see a candidate who said nothing abut the opponent but only what he/she was indending to do. Even if they said they were going to take all the bribes they could get and all their freinds were going to get rich. As long as they said nothing about their opponent, I would seriously consider voting for them. Ever since I saw "Brewster's Millions" I have looked for the box that said, "None of the Above". But that was just a movie. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

The editor who composed that headline should self-fire himself for un-grammatically using bad grammar. That guy was only filling in for the regular Headline Editor. He usually works in the Department of Redundency Department. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. I have no problem with any of that. I think it's like Ion01 said, it's a contract thing. Now this may be off on a tangent but... When the bible is sighted as a rationale, as in "the bible says", I don't think that is any different than what bring the torches and pitchforks out when someone says, "Sharia law". A society may define its standards of behavior "for the common good" but too often it's just some people imposing THEIR idea of right and wrong on everyone else. My idea is do whatvever you want as long as you don't hurt anyone else. A society may also set up systems to help the less fortunate in that society. It would be good to think that this is done for compassionate reasons but some times I think it's the payoff, or bribe, for putting up with THEIR idea of right and wrong. I don't know what's right for other people, I just know what I think. I try not to export or evangelize what I think and I don't take kindly to others who do whether they agree with me or not. Treat everyone else like you would like to be treated. I think that's all we reallly need. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. I'm not sure "Big Science" is cohesive enough to warrant the epithet. There is probably "Big Science" on all sides of any issue. Big corporations have battalions of scientists to do "research" to prove the businesses point of view. These scientists are like mercenaries. They work for whoever pays them. Cigarette companies have "scientific" reports that say tobacco is not harmful. BP probably have a report that says that crude oil is a naturally occuring substance and therefore should be good for the ecco system of the Gulf. Figures don't lie but liers sure do figure. On all sides. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

I used to wait till the last minute too. You'd be surprised at the selection of gifts at the local truck stop. Not much in the way of wrapping paper, though. I think the name is, "The Ventrolequist". Anthony Hopkins is in it and it scared the bejesus out of me but I had to keep watching. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

Well, it looks like nobody around here knows about macro-economics which was the original question. I can keep my checking account up to date and know I can't spend more than I make. (Even though I have checks left ) This may not have been the best place to ask such an esoteric, academic question. All elected "officials", wheather Democrat or Republican, have one thing in common. They're all politicians. They need each other. There is really no difference in the way they do things. Sucking up money from the special intrests so they can keep their cushy jobs is their number 1 priority. If something good for the country or their constituancy, so much the better but it was probably an accident. Just like a small town lawyer will starve to death if he's the only lawyer in town. But if there are 2 lawyers, they will both get rich. They need each other. They're like the "wrasslers" on TV. They yell and scream and put on a good show. When that act is over, they go out to dinner togerther and compare the size of their "war chests." Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. In the picture with the heros sitting and the crowd standing behind them, the guy kneeling next to the one in the middle looks a lot like Bill Booth. Or a guy from ZZ Top.

Within a few generations there would be new political parties, with just as much division as the old political parties. We are very good at choosing sides - and the sides really aren't all that different. I wouldn't take long for them to ask, "What's in it for me?" And, "If you help me get mine, I'll help you get yours and to hell with everyone else." And now we're back Us verses Them. Politics may be in a specific gene (or in all of them.) Yeah, Colbert's act at the Congressional thing was regretful. I thought he was funny but then I think a fart in church is funny as hell too. This is a story on MSNBC about the rally and comedy news shows. Apparently we remember information from a comedic source more than we do from a serious source. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39857395/ns/politics-decision_2010/ Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Is anyone going to the National Mall this Saturday for Jon Stewarts "Rally to Restore Sanity"? I would if I could afford it. I like to think that the rhetoric and tone could come down several levels and still make a point. No one can hear anyting when everyone is shouting. If anyone's going up I-95 let me know. I'd like to try to be there. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Louis D Brandeis Where are we going and why are we in this basket?

I never ever wanted to get pied and I've never been part of a pieing.. I've helped a few friends get their gear cleaned up afterwards and it's a pain in the butt. Like the guy said after he was tarred and feathered, and being ridden out of town on a rail, "If it wasn't for the honor of the thing, I'd just as soon walk." My best friend was on the Olympic Rings jump in Seoul. They stayed around for a few days after the opening ceromonies to see the city. He and his wife are both vegetarians. When they went through a market and saw some dogs, they said, "Wow, they sell pets here in the market," Then someone told them, "No. This is the livestock area." They left the market. "FAKE" was my first thought, too. I never saw a PC at an angle like that. More than 45 degrees from verticle? Not that people didn't try to kill themselves being stupid. So, take that as an indication of the accuracy of the story. One"at mercy of the winds" Other, "full steering andd motor".....now who hit who? Bad enough they said "glider" "Wow!! That balloon just came out of nowhere!" Ever since I saw a picture of a mass assention at Albequerque I've wanted to fly a canopy down the balloon stream. I think it would be like flying past multi-colored clouds. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done.
