I have an alternative plan to that congressional spending proposal. I say we offer every congressman $1 million if they'll sign a contract agreeing not to raise government spending during the remainder of their term. Violation of the contract would result in forfeiture of their personal assets to re-pay the $1 million. That would cost us only about half a billion dollars, which is a bargain compared to what they're going to do left unchecked. All we need is for a majority of them to go for the bait. We could get off as cheap as a quarter billion - mere peanuts! It only SOUNDS good. Those guys already get more than that to spend as much as they can. Are compaign contributions really "free speach" or are they bribes. When they come from special interests or outside the confines of the particular district, I call them bribes. But too often people are elected in one area because of the money they get from everywhere else in the entire country. Living in Fla, I had a "glove rule." If it was cold enough to were gloves, it was too cold to jump. The coldest I remember being on a jump was at the 100 way attemps at Pitt Meadows in '86.
