  1. Bruce I plan to go to the Museum DB Cooper display. I was hoping to get a photo of the chute from Norm Hayden that the Museum now owns, but it looks like they will not have the chute displayed out of the carrier. What is important is that the chute that DB used is exactly like what is in the Museum carrier. All the talk about DB selected the wrong chute is for nothing as both chutes supplied were alike and purchased by Norm Hayden at the same time from a Surplus store on Marginal Way by the Boeing Developmental Center. Bruce you were able to take a photo (attached) of the chute slightly pulled out of the carrier and it can be determined from that photo that the chute that DB used was also white rip-stop material. That means the non-rip-stop and colored Amboy chute was NOT THE ONE DB USED. The four letters sent to the newspapers just after Norjak by DB are probably the real thing and from him. I noted the saying at the bottom of letter three "system that beats the system" was a mantra that I heard over and over from Sheridan while at my place for a month. That is why I believe him to be DB as you know and makes the DNA from under the stamps/envelope flaps the smoking gun in the case that blow Sheridan's alibi wide open. This is the last piece of evidence the FBI has and has not investagated. What a shame to drop the case when so close to solving it. Comparing the DNA from the envelopes with what the FBI has from Sheridan will prove to be a match. Easy and will not cost much to do. In fact I will pay for the DNA tests up to $1,000. 2. skyjack71: Jo you say "Why go to the extreme of COLORED contacts only to wear Wrap-a-round sun Glasses? " I say the sun-glasses were to let his eyes be ready to see outside the plane and during the jump. The brightness of the cabin would have been a disadvantage to his eyes but the sun-glasses would have prevented that. We use low light and red light (down below) aboard racing sailing boats at night to accomplish the same protection so our eyes can see better at night when on deck. Sun-glasses were a good choice to improve DB's night vision. His showing his brown eye color to the Flight Attendants at first (disguising the blue eyes) and then using the sun-glasses makes me think he wanted his eyes to be declared brown and cover up that they were actually blue. Just a thought of why and ect... He could have removed the brown contacts before the jump and as you say while in the lavatory. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  3. skyjack71: Jo, you say: "Well, My dear YOU do NOT have a very good eye! For someone who is promoting a man whose eyes are not the right color" I say: "Sheridan's eye were brown when at my house for a month and ten years before Norjak. Now he proudly shows off his blue eyes in present photos. This perplexes me a lot." Could it have been that he had brown contact lens when at my place and for Norjak? That would explain why he so proudly shows off his blue eye color now. He is a very clever guy and thought of everything and possibly the eye color was his way of having an ID of eye color to cover his looks for the crime. Color contacts were used in those days in the movies so actors could change their eye color for their special parts. My wife did have contacts in those days but not colored. They were available however for extra dollars. This could explain why DB showed his eyes off to the Flight Attendants (with the brown contacts on) then spent the remaining time with his eyes covered by sun glasses. This may sound like a stretch to cover the different eye color, but there has to be an explanation for two different eye colors. Sheridan does fit all the other requirements of height, age, olive skin, skydiving skills, etc... Could he have been so clever to disguise himself by just the eye color? That is just how clever he was but he did not know or plan for DNA detection as it was not used in those days. The DNA under the stamps/envelope flaps on the four letters sent to the news papers is still the best and quickest way that this crime can finally be solved and comparing that DNA with what the FBI has on Sheridan. I hate to sound like other posters pushing their candidates, but I feel this is the only way we can push forward in the case. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  4. skyjack71 Jo you say: "Everyone who has seen the picture along with the before and afters believes Duane and the composite is a pretty good likeness." I say: Sorry but the jail picture show how much Duane's ears stick out and is not at all like the FBI sketch. So rather than prove anything, the photo actually shows he does not match the sketch. See attached jail photo. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  5. skyjack71: Jo you say: "DAN COOPER ID MAKE IT AND I KNOW THIS WITH ALL OF MY HEART AND SOUL! HE TRIED TO TELL ME, BUT DUMB ME DIDN'T GET IT! I JUST DID NOT GET IT." I say: 'All you have to do is look at the prison photo (attached) of Duane and compare to the FBI sketch, and you can easily conclude that he was not DB or Dan Cooper ever. He was just pulling your leg at a bad time and has given you cause to thinks he was good for something (first time in his life he did not get caught)." Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  6. mrshutter45 You say: "unfortunately the tie in the photo is not a clip on. you can see the tie starting to go around the collar of the neck. the knot also appears to be smaller. I didn't show it in this pic, but he is not wearing a tie clip either." You are correct and the photo I was using was not the one of Sheridan's tie. You correctly point out that the tie can be seen continuing around his neck and under the shirt collar. So it was not a clip-on. I am waiting for more photo's from the Boeing News of Sheridan and the possibility he might be wearing the clip-on tie. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  7. IN ADDITION The tie Sheridan was wearing in the Boeing News photo (Nov 1, 1962)) looks like it could be a clip-on tie. Some of you Citizen Slewths might be able to determine if it is a clip-on. In the three photos you can compare the Boeing News photo with the FBI photo of DB's tie and the Sheridan knot/clip-on by its self. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  8. Blevins: You say: "Amboy chute: Yeah...chances are it isn't Cooper's. I just want to know HOW they came to that determination. I mean beyond Cossey's 'silk not nylon' statements, and one agent's 'a totality of the information'. You know. Like the next question you want to ask is: What information?" I say: We need to look at the chute that Norn Hayden sold to the Tacoma Museum and is due to be on display August 24 to Jan 5th 2014. Possibly a photo of its manufacturing label could be compared with what we have of the Amboy chute (see attached). Norm Hayden told me the two back chutes he provided were exactly the same and were purchased by him at the same time from a surplus place on Marginal Way in Seattle. By comparing the two photos of the labels, we could determine if the Amboy chute was or was not the one used by DB. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  9. Mrshuttr45 You say: "what about someone claiming to be a "consultant" for Boeing. what capacity of security would this person carry. it's kind of a dead end anyway given that fact the brothers cut ties in 58." I say: Anyone as a consultant could have a special pass or be with a Boeing escort while on company property. Upon leaving, they could put drawings and documents in their briefcase and pass through the guarded gate without having to open their briefcase. They may have to hide their escort badge to blend in with all the others passing through the gate. Otherwise a smart guard might ask to see in the briefcase. Some foreign companies would spend hours copying documents and drawings at the copy machines (illegal copies) and got away with a lot of good Boeing information. On real Top Secret projects this was not too possible and Secret material was signed out to each person with the need to know and it could never be left on a desk top or removed from the Black project areas. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  10. Robert99 You say: " Would you be gracious enough to explain to Jo Weber what the future would hold for any Boeing employee who was caught trying to remove plans from the Boeing facilities of Boeing aircraft that were under development." I say: If caught, it would be bad for the employee without a proper letter, possibly from a Boss, that would authorize the removal from company property. However, when leaving the company property in those days, only the lunch pails were opened and searched by the guards at the gate. Brief Cases were not required to be opened and drawings could have been taken home without a chance of being caught. In addition, anyone with a car pass could have taken a trunk load of drawings. The security was really just what was done with the drawings while in plant and there were vaults to lock-up drawings and documents that needed to be secure. So what Jo is saying might be true of drawings or sketches of a new airplane being developed. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  11. Bleivin: The Amboy chute could be compared with the chute returned to Norn Hayden by the FBI. Norm told me he bought the two chutes at the same time from a surplus place on Marginal Way in Seattle and they were exactly alike. That returned chute is now in the hands of the Tacoma Museum who will put it on display in the DB part of the Museum in October when the display is finished. We have a photo of the Mfg. label that was on the Amboy chute and so could compare it with the Museum chute. A match would prove the Amboy chute was DB's and no match would set the Amboy chute to rest. Another thing to look at is the Boeing News photo of Sheridan's head/face attached. If you look closely in the area about one inch from his mouth in the direction of his left ear you can see a possible ID scar that looks like a dimple. If the FBI used that ID as part of a hold back for future candidate proof of ID, then we might have something to go on about Sheridan. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  12. Skyjack71 Jo your point 1) is very biased and if you were truthful, your Duane does not look like the sketches nor does his hair. Sheridan does look like the sketch and had the olive skin color too (not a sun tan). Your point 2) on shoes you are trying to discredit the "loafers" Sheridan is wearing as not being loafers but in the Nordstrom catalog under loafers you can find them with laces too. Wish we could show the photo of Sheridan's loafers to Tina and she could shed some light on if they are a match. They are loafers to me and what I would expect Nordstrom to call them. What is really interesting is Sheridan making his demo jump for the Boeing Skydiving Club in the Suit, shirt, narrow black tie and loafers just like DB used and before NORJAK. Jo, Duane never jumped dressed like that!!! Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  13. Attached Photo of Sheridan from Boeing News Nov. 1, 1962 Had trouble because the photo was too large (greater than the limit allowed) So I have cut the picture down Upper Half and Lower Half. That way the resolution is still very good for details. Note that Sheridan was dressed this way "Just like DB did for NORJAK" Dark suit, white shirt, narrow black tie, and loffers. And this was all way before NORJAK. He actually did a demonstration jump for the Boeing Skydiving Club and dressed this way. Also, Robbert99 says: "Don't be like one of the current posters whose candidate for D.B. Cooper is a fellow who stiffed him out of $5 rent more than 50 years ago. That poster remembers ever single "slight" and there is no forgiveness as far as he is concerned. " I Say: Robbert, get your facts at least correct before you attempt to make your pitiful personal attacks. Sheridan failed to pay his $35 room rent for his first month at my place and was asked to leave when he did not pay by the end of the month That is why we had no receipt for Sheridan when the FBI stopped by to talk with my wife./b] Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  14. Having trouble with attaching the photo of Sheridan from the Boeing News. Possibly too large a file for Dropzone to handle. It is 2.1 MB and Dropzone only excepts 1.00 MB so if anyone wants the photo, send me an e-mail and I will e-mail the photo back to you. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  15. mrshutter45: You say: "correct, this always makes me wonder about the knowledge. would a smoke jumper who is trained to protect himself in a drop wear a suit for a night jump? those guys wore heavy duty stuff. I understand some might parts of the gear is not needed, but a suit vs smoke jumpers gear?" I say: Sheridan had already jumped in a demo for the Boeing Skydiving Club dressed in the dark suit, white shirt, black tie, and loafers in 1962. The addition of the rain coat that had a large collar to flip-up and button, just like the Smoke Jumper's large collar, would have provided protection to his face if he landed in the trees. He had practice landing in trees and found them to be no problem. Would he have jumped dress the same way? Why not, it was his MO and he knew it would work. Why did he leave the tie behind? He did not need it and who wants to keep a clip-on tie anyway. It was kind of like "have gun will travel" calling card. Most of you are too young to understand "Palidan's" calling card. A TV program from the past that Sheridan would have know about. The actual photo Boeing News used for making the double image used in their newspaper is attached and is very good resolution. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  16. Georger: You ask: "Nice photos. Is that loafer on Sheridan? " My answer is yes, he was wearing the whole thing (suit, white shirt. black tie, and loafers) in the Boeing News article Nov 1, 1962. Blevins believes you can tell eye color in a black and white photo. Attached is Sheridan's eyes in black and white. I don't agree with Blevins but I know Sheridan had brown eyes. Also, Sheridon's tie knot looks like it could be a clip-on and in attachment. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  17. Robert99 You say: "Did you, or any of your relatives, serve in the US Military at any point or did you just sit on you lazy ass and live off the efforts of other people?" I say: I served four years in the Millitary (1952 to 1956) during the Korean War and was not sitting on my lazy ass as you state. Possibly, you are talking about your own lack of serving our country during war time. I used my G.I. Bill to get a BSEE from the UofW following my service time and post graduate at UCLA thanks to Boeing. All Marines are trained to kill the enemy and remember their slogan in Boot Camp while holding their riffle with one hand and their crotch with their other hand) "this is my riffle, this is my gun, one is for killing and the other is for fun". They are trained killers whether it is politically correct to say so in present days. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  18. Blevins: You say: "Of course he could. Now you must prove that he did, right? You have zip on this so far. People slam on Christiansen sometimes because he had 'hazel' eyes and Cooper's were reported as brown. Sheridan's are BLUE." I say: "I don't have to prove anything. All we need is for the FBI to look at the last remaining evidence (stamps/envelope flaps for Cooper DNA from the four letters t the newspapers) and compare to what they have already on Sheridan. Case could be closed very quickly. It is the smoking gun and all that. However, it is interesting that Sheridan shows up on his facebook page with the picture you reference and it looks like his eyes have changed to blue or is that blue contacts to make his brown eyes look blue? He seems to be flaunting his eyes in the photo as if he wants us to think the eyes are actually blue. Why is he doing that? Are we too close to him being the top candidate? His eyes were BROWN the whole month he stayed at my home in Seattle. Interesting that he put that photo on his facebook page. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  19. Blevins: You say: "My opinion is that he's as innocent as the Virgin Mary on this one. Prove he ditched his new family and flew from Nepal to frickin' Portland and put on a suit to hijack a plane. Just try. Ain't going to be easy, my friend. Smile" : I say: "You are not a very good one to make your claim as you have been totally out to lunch with your candidate (KC) who is too short, wrong color of eyes, and white skin." Yes the case can be closed very quickly if the FBI would test the DNA from under the stamps/envelope flaps of the four letters sent to the Newspapers and compare with what they have of Sheridans DNA. They will find a match and the whole case will be blown open and solved. The Nepal alibi will be blown apart and the DNA is the "smoking gun" as it was the only thing that Sheridan could not have planned for as it was not used in those old days. It is that easy, my friend (smile), but the FBI will never move to do it as they didn't think of how to solve the crime. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  20. Robert: Yes and Sheridan also jumped in his suit, tie and loafers for a Boeing Skydiving Club demonstration all before Norjak. You have as closed a mind as the FBI and that is why they have not figured out the case. They came close but failed to follow through. Remember DB was only exposed to the elements for less than 3-4 minutes before he was on the ground. He did not need all the sports diving gear to make the jump and was used to night and bad weather jumping. Landing in the trees would have been no problem either as he was a trained Smoke Jumper. In the Marines in WWII he was a machine gunner (a trained killer) however he has a nice guy side also (especialy with the women). Could have Sheridan done the caper? I am sure he could and did it after planning it for ten years. Nepal was his "perfect alibi" and the FBI fell for it. Many things were done to cover the caper and that is why he could pull it off with out being caught. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  21. georger: Notice in your attached pictures the jumper is facing forward while on the stairs as Blevin predicted DB must have backed down the stairs. That would have given DB the best view of where to jump and clear of windows etc... Attached is a photo of Sheridan from one of two articles in the Boeing News prior to Norjak in November 1st 1962 issue. He was dressed just like DB including black suit, white shirt, black tie, and loafers. He was promoting the Boeing Skydiving Club. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  22. mrshutter You ask why DB needed help with the door for the airstairs. I have a good friend that was a Flight Attendant in those days and she says a slight pressure differential between the cabin and outside pressure could have given DB a problem, but when the Flight Attendant helped, it was no problem. The Attendants work with those things daily and and know what to do even if it is not covered by the flight manual. This was probably the first time DB had used an actual airstair even though he worked in the Manuals and Handbooks group at Boeing. He did have access to the actual designers of the airstairs and that helped him to know they could be opened in flight. As far as Sheridan not being able to indanger people, he was a machine gunner in the Marines during WWII and was a trained killer. He had a very polite personality and was a real charmer with the ladies. He had all the capabilities and the "perfect alibi" that he was in Nepal. Too perfect and the FBI should have seen through it. The DNA the FBI has of DB's is not at all good and they know it. However, the DNA under the stamps/envelope flaps of the four letters sent by DB after Norjak could quickly solve this crime. However, the FBI is like the rest of our government (fixed mind sets and not willing to do the obvious thing to solve the crime). Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  23. Adding to Sheridan description: Notice in my Avitar that Sheridan skin color even shows in his half of the photo. Compare his skin color to the white shirt he is wearing. It is not a tan but an olive completion like the description of the witnesses. He is probably of Greek family history. Yes Jo I copied your use of the Avitar as a good reminder of the suspect you support. I don't support your Duane Weber as he does not fit the description or dose he have the smarts to do this crime. I think, Duane just pulled a last minute joke on you and did not understand the trouble it would give you in your future. I think you we're good for Duane and straitened out the last part of his life. You deserved better but life is not fair to us all the time. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
  24. 377 How were those Euerka girls? Sounds fishey to me. Note that my Avitar has changes from the 70 year old Sheridan Peterson to the Nov. 1, 1962 picture in the Boeing News. In the article in the Boeing News, Sheridan is dressed in the Suit/Tie/Loafers Shoes just like for NORJAK. Bob Sailshaw sailshaw@aol.com
