I'm watching the same thing. I'm so sad. I didn't know anyone personally, but a lot of people I know did. And I can see the skyline from my work. It's just not the same anymore. I thought I had put all this behind me, but all those sad feelings came back to me today. I didn't really think it would affect me this much. I just still can't believe something like this could ever happen. Soooo many innocent people!!!! It's just so wrong. Well, the sun will rise again tomorrow and maybe I'll feel better. Here in NJ we are so close to downtown NYC that we could smell the smoke. I knew many in the WTC, but luckily they all made it out. Too many were not so fortunate. I wish peace & comfort to all those who lost a loved one. Thank you so much for posting your sympathy & compassion. It really means a lot to everyone. I know many families who lost sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, etc. last Sept & I'm sure I speak for them when I say knowing other countries are thinking of us in this hard time is such a huge help.

Tomorrow morning my office is giving us some time to go up the hill near our office where we can see the NY skyline. It seems so strange to not see the towers, they have been there for as long as I can remember and I remember not being able to take my eyes off them when I was on the train, or driving home from NY. As I look out to where the towers used to be, I will definitely remember and say a prayer for all of the heros who are fighting for us in the middle east. Thanks for mentioning them. I agree with you that it is so easy to lose sight of the fact there there is a real war going on over there. Out of sight--out of mind , right? I haven't hit the big 30 yet. I still have 8 months until I'm not in my 'twenties' anymore. I jst bought a 2002 Hyundai Accent. They are cheap and you can't find a better warranty anywhere. My last car was also a Hyndai (Excel) and I drove that car up and down the east coast many times. It had about 180K miles on it & was still running fine. The problem I had was it was going to need a new transmission & it was too old to put all that money into it. I never had any other problems though. The Accents are about $10,500 to $11,000 and have a 100,000 mile warranty. Very comfy, roomy, cute, & good gas mileage. And fits in ANY little parking spot! Wow, what a fun thread! 1. Two different public bathroon that happened to be in bars (I suppose you could call those alcohol induced...) 2. Cemetary 3. Big grassy field in the middle of a rain shower (VERY cool!) 4. Neighbors bed while I was supposed to be 'watching' their house. 5. Beach (duh, of course!) 6. Tent @ Delaware Water Gap (Awesome!) 7. In a bar on a REALLY crowded dancefloor--in a skirt, standing up (OK, LOTS of alcohol involved, but I don't think anybody knew!) 8. In a car at a park at about 3:00 in the afternoon---people were playing tennis about 100 feet away. 9. On a basketball court (ok, it was at night...) Sometimes when I have a lot going on, it helps to make a list of everything I need to do or everything that's on my mind. It gives me a different perspective & sometimes I find it doesn't seem like quite as much when I can see it all on paper. At least I don't have to worry about forgetting anything....one less worry!
