Yesterday when I awoke...for some reason it just crossed my mind that if I could give someone only 3 pieces of advice about wing suiting what would they be. Kind of like how in relation to landing I often hear: "Open area, Wings Level, Flare" or in relation to a skydive: "Pull, Pull on Time, Pull Stable". What would it be in wing suiting...maybe: "Exit closed, Fly off jump run, open high"? I felt a hypothetical approach would get better answers as I already took the guess work out of it being a beginner suit and the person having 200 jumps. It's just an exercise to see what people think are the top priorities. What I hear is get coaching. Fully agreed. So then from that coach what are the top 3 things if they could give only 3 pieces of advice. I have said all along that it isn't advertising. The purpose is and always has been to give our customers a place to go to find local coaches\mentors. Sure, if someone has a coach to go to then I can rent them an Intro or T can't I?....but it isn't the other way around, I am not using the list to create customers. I have had to turn too many customers away this year because they had no access to a FFC....I solved that problem now...or at least I am working on it. Do you make sure someone has a coach to go to before you sell them a Prodigy or P2Z? I don't care that you don't believe me, obviously your head is in the commercial side of things more than mine. I just want people to have someone to go to. My present to the world today will be to remove the word "Independent" from the list. I am a bit anxious about what to rename it because I already used the letters IWCDB in the database....that commits me to using an "I" otherwise it would break the SOE I built. I am thinking Ingenious....or maybe Immature....or even Inbred....all are more fitting than the misuse of the word Independent on a list of coaches that might be biased towards those that hold the TS Wingsuit Training Rating. In the interest of full disclosure I am also biased toward large dogs as opposed to small dogs, sake over wine, campers over time shares and certainly flying first class over economy. I will try and keep these biases out of the list by having some advisors keep me sane. Joking aside....at least I thought I was funny you can forget the word Independent as it relates to the list.
