  1. Ah ok I see. but since theres as many web sites saying either it is rather hard to figure out. I read the book by Prof David Ray Griffin, it seemed to make sense to me. It was a very well researched book. Wiki isn't the tell all of accurate information. Neither you or I know exactly nor are we likely too anytime soon. Check out Griffin's book, cant hurt. http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=18923 Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 3. Let’s not forget, Bin Laden, a past ally and militant trainee of the American government, NEVER publicly confessed to having any involvement in the 9/11 attacks. In fact, on two occasions he publicly denied all knowledge. Given his hate of all things American and the kudos gained in orchestrating such a master plan – surely he would have been proud to shout about it from every roof top? 4. That doesnt bother me as bad as this. http://oregonshout.ning.com/profiles/blogs/irsdepartment-of-education I guess junior high kids have gotten meaner since I was there. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”
  5. Not to be mean but that one sentence is a lot of your problem, IMO. It has nothing to do with picking up girls but more that you assume you have no chance. A persons confidence is not only sexy to the opposite sex but it shows to others around you. Be confident, try being a bit bold. A big drop zone is hectic and fast paced, you can be as noticeable to others as you choose to be. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 8. I'm curious as I'v seen it taught both ways. When I took my first class the instructor said to flare at 15 feet and gave land marks around as a way to judge your altitude. When I went to this DZ which I love I retook the class. It had been several months. There I was taught to flare in stages as in 1-bring toggles to shoulder level, 2-bring toggles to chest level and 3-full flare. My question is which way would you teach and which way do you flare? Is it a matter of preference or is there a specific reason for doing it one way. The flaring in steps works fine for me. I was curious. 11. Supposed to be and being are often different things. Soldiers are human, some bad, some good. It does seem like the military actually seeks the ones that are bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQ2VXJpQ2Uw Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 16. Actually its easy. First lay the smokes down and walk off. Well that parts very hard. Weight is easy part, have friend weighed over 400 and started this and now hes 183 and no longer takes the 24 meds he used to. And he did it in year and half. its called diet but when can eat as much as you want hard call it diet. Anyway its healthy and free. http://www.drmcdougall.com/free.html I feel great, better than I did even in my thirties, not sure if its because im getting lighter or not smoking. 18. Today is one year of non smoking!!!! I am down 58 pounds and I actually jumped from a perfectly good plane. OK perfectly good part is debatable. I just turned 53 and I am happy healthy and I'm going to go buy me a new toy to celebrate. No not a rig yet, I'll jump my student rig for a while cause I'm not done with weight thing yet. 19. Ok I admit I'm tad confused here, are you supposed to double wrap the lines with rubber bands or not? Derek's gear tips say "Use the proper size rubber bands, 'Sky Bands', or 'Tube Stows' and do not double wrap them". However Nick Grillet of Performance Designs double wraps in this video, or is this not double wrapping? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyM_LkW8DVI&feature=relmfu So why the difference? is there a reason or just preference? 21. John the chambers were intentionally made sloppy to aid in the battle field,so the brass tends to distort a bit. The locking lugs or their abutments in the receiver can get beaten back, causing excess head space. They don't have locking lugs like a modern bolt action, they do not like hot loaded ammo and its not safe, if they are reloads back off powder. If its surplus ammo try to find a bolt, or swap one from different rifle to see if results are the same. And for the record, 7.62x51mm and 308 are not the same cartridge, quit interchanging them. But on cool trivia side, the British discovered cool fact about the rifle ammo. The 303 if you pull the slug and set it backwards, its armor piercing. Soldiers would keep a handful of rounds like that as they would penetrate light armor. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. 22. You have such a way with words. Brian the guy teaches about fear said this, I'm paraphrasing so its not exact. If I have a 100 acre square landing area and theres a single tree in the middle. I can tell every student to avoid the tree, theres a 100 acres to land in. Theres no reason to be any where near the tree. Yet a lot will land near the tree, some will land in it, students ,minds are untrained and they tend to fixate on something and ignore what they are taught. We all do it to a degree, if I say don't look, your first instinct is to look. It seems to be common sense, don't go adding things into the mix before a jumper is ready to do it. Skydiving is an extreme sport, it can be safe and for most part it is but theres not much room for errors. In my younger days I raced a Bultaco on flat tracks, my dad told me when I got to the point I thought I was good,, Thats when you crash. Different sport but principle is the same, being good and thinking your good are two separate things. On cold mornings my thinking I was good sure makes getting up hard. Slow down and enjoy jumping, your being safe is not your instructors job once your off student status, its your job. Its your ass on the line. 23. Heres great site help with this. As a marine mechanic ethanol plays havoc on boats. Main things to avoid, don't add anything to ethanol based fuels designed to clean the fuel system of water. since most of these products are alcohol, the added alcohol will absorb more water in form of condensation. Gasoline with ethanol added shelf life is 3 months, it can absorb massive amounts of water. Staybil will not stop the moisture from being absorbed so it wont prolong the life of fuel very long. Staybil's purpose is to prevent oxidation, on non ethanol fuels its very helpful. Switching back and forth causes no harm except on older cars, as was said its hell on seals and hoses. http://www.fuel-testers.com/expiration_of_ethanol_gas.html Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
