I had home made play-dough. It was edible or at least better tasting than the commercial product.

I thought the Sit-N-Spin was OOD and the Big Wheel was modern. I had both. And a matchbox cars airport that would fold up into something that looked like a suitcase... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Don't forget that Conrad's "Heart Of Darkness" was the inspiration behind Coppola's Apocalypse Now Finally, most people never read a Conrad book unless they have to. I tried to get through HOD twice before I got it and was able to make it through.

We have a sit and spin, its better though cause it plays music Music?!?! Kids are so spoiled.... When I was a kid, all we had were some pots and pans and the cat food to play with... and we liked it! If I was really lucky I got a wooden spoon, too. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

My Sit-N-Spin was pretty cool at the time. So were Lawn Darts. then the Safety Nazi's got involved.... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

When they pulled mine they let me watch a movie (with headphones) while the nitrous took effect. I highly reccomend Top Gun. I was eating solid food, popcorn and soda at the movies the next day. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Back in the late 80's early 90's I used to think the video store clerk was the ultimate low stress job. Sit around and watch videos all day. -
Every Man's Dream... Twins. You are truely blessed. In my realm the Leftists refuse to do any work. Sometimes I can get them to play a video game, or pull a reserve handle... but not much else. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

It took you 79 cantos to decide the translation was bad? I can't read Battlefield Earth all the way thru either... Read half... throw it across the room... find the other half a few months later (the paperback binding split) read it to completion... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Walt, I never would have guessed you were a lefty. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

I am always skeptical about installing ANY P2P technology. Crypto/ Anti-virus/ Firewalls all preserve/protect privacy, P2P is the pandora's box of privacy rights on the internet. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

There's just gotta be a way to photoshop that shadow out of the image.... hmmmmm "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken -
That's my point. Start with Kurasawa... then watch Ozu's Good Morning and Floating Weeds.

Uh, 1st?!!!!! I could get my guy card taken away for this, but yeah, I actually prefer the articles to the pictures. I much prefer real women to the contrived images they publish. Walt I agree. I stopped reading Playboy when the frequency of Asa Baber articles decreased. Playboy without Asa Baber has as much value (maybe less value) than the monthly copy of Parachutist I keep in my bathroom.... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

I've seen Paris, Texas and a lot of other movies. Wong Kar-Wai is not for everyone. I personally liked Fallen Angels and In the Mood For Love but I might not reccomend them to someone whose tastes are more conventional. Ebert accurately summarizes Wong Kar Wai as "Wong is more of an art director, playing with the medium itself, taking fractured elements of criss-crossing stories and running them through the blender of pop culture." "...will appeal to the kinds of people you see in the Japanese animation section of the video store, with their sleeves cut off so you can see their tattoos. And to those who subscribe to more than three film magazines. And to members of garage bands. And to art students. It's not for your average moviegoers--unless of course, they want to see something new. " Start out on a healthy diet of Akira Kurasawa, David Lean, Stanley Kubrick types of films before you jump into Fellini's 8 1/2, French New Wave cinema, or Lynch's Eraserhead.

It is the original source for City Of Angels. The basic plot and themes are the same. "Wings" has a certain artistic subtlety being german language and black/ white photography; "Angels" is more appealing to a mainstream american/ hollywood audience. Angels: The Angel falls in love with literally a Heart Surgeon. Wings: The Angel falls in love with a circus acrobat. It also explores the deeper existential themes that City of Angels glosses over to tell the plot/story. Both are good. Wing of Desire won a lot of awards (Cannes, LA and New York Flim Critics, Independent Spirit Award) when it came out in 1987. City of Angels was was nominated a lot for its soundtrack.
