  1. no cocaine effect... tried it a few years ago, and Red Bull/Vodka does'nt make it the same... but if you drink more... maybe you'll get something... try 2 red bull, then start with vodka shots... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  2. reminds me of this famous french stuntman who trained for a SUPER SCARY stunt, climbing down a rope ladder from a glider to another one... every practice he made with a chute on his back went fine... when he demoed it without the parachute... he fell... the other stuntmen with parachutes on didn't manage to catch him before impact.. I think it was Remy Julienne... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  3. if you have to jump right away after your flight, ask at th echeck in desk if you can take it as hand luggage... if you can afford a delay with your rig put it with normal luggage in the hold... especially in the US with piece concept (2 pces of luggage at 32 kg each)... here in europe we have weight concept (20kg in economy...) If somebody asks me, I defend my point of view by saying that I need this device to save my life, and that if anything happens (Cypres broken, lines frozen ;-) etc...) while it is in the hold, my life might be endangered... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  4. Looks easier than it is! ************* always the problem with these videos... everything looks sooooooo easy, but when you try anything... seems more complicated everytime... ;-) ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  5. in switz we sometimes use them in flight to get info about weather down on the groud or other stuff during special jumps... knock on wood, never affect our plane... Pilatus Porter... Swiss Plane... ;-) ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  6. I think it helps to remember it's much more about aerodynamics than momentum. You don't have to swing around very fast to make it happen. Front loops are just the opposite. Leave your legs alone and just bend the top half of your body down. Use your hands to push. *************************** pilot dave is right IMO... backloop is aerodynamic, frontloop is dynamic/momentum... what I do for frontloops is like throwing your upper body and try to eat your balls... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  7. What I do is hang my helmet to the chest strap when I go to the plane (and check it), then check it again when I put my helmet on before take off, when I hang it on again after my pro track gave a sign of life and again before putting my helmet on again before jumping... I know it seems ridiculous to check it Min. 4 times... but I don't want to : -fall out of my rig -get busted and have to pay for beer at my DZ ;-) -get busted and be grounded on other DZ's ;-) but now the question is... who never arrived rushing at the plane cause they didn't hear the call, without checking the gear etc etc etc... I'm only human, of flesh and blood I'm maaaade ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  8. never had any problems, ladies at security even thought I was very courageous... except passing through Paris (France) with Air France, they consider it as a Cat.4 Weapon... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579

  17. The less-graceful technique (after a botched approach) involves trying to do a horizontal PLF. Like a PLF, you are trying to absorb the landing shock with your leg muscles. The only difference is that all your excess speed is in the horizontal direction. The trick is to lean your head back, get your feet out in front and tighten your as cheek muscles, so your spine approaches horizontal. That way your leg muscles absorb most of the bumps. Again, you are trying to avoid vertically compressing your spine. ***************************** beware if you land horizontal on hour back... your rig is basically quite solid and the reserve might injure your spine too... Seen people impacting after a low turn finishing on the back with a spine broken (apparently by the reserve) and which are now in a wheelchair... the general tendancy apparently says PLF with low horizontal speed, whatever you can (depending of your experience) with high speed ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  18. right, considering the altitude... there was still a good safety margin... but I was taught these emergency situations shouldn't be dealt with too long... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  19. sure, if you want it to open the way you want, pack it yourself... ;-) more seriously, I think that if you pay a packer, you deserve a good pack job... and the packer has a great responsability in the fact that you do a nice landing or just an impact, and everything in between. but 7 secs for a hard pull is long... maybe should you have gone for your reserve handle earlier ??? in french we say : on n'est jamais si bien servi que par soi-même ciel bleu to everybody ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579

Did a few FF jumps with FF (Fred Fugen), the young guy rocks... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
  21. just DO it... even if your external signs of virility are not at their best... who cares... you are just becoming a bird... does a bird need a RW suit or freefly pants ??? nope... and you don't even really feel the cold (it was -5 degrees C at exit), the only thing is the sweat in your back with the nylon of the rig... but actually I was'nt really naked, was wearing alti, helmet, goggles and sandals... ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT 579
