Hehehe Actually I am hoping there will be so many ppl there they will be flying both planes full time (at least during the weekend), so I can get some jumps off the skyvan. I havent jumped the van since I got off AFF!!!! Also so we can jump during the late evenings, so i can get some in after class. FYI: That was about a month ago (graduating AFF), I hit 50 jumps this weekend. I guess I should get my B or something... By the end of $12 time, I want to have 75 or so jumps... First of all, my condolences to the deceased, there family and friends. Second: (ALL) Aircraft are on routine maintence schedules, they are NOT treated like our cars (run till they wont any longer). There are 100 hour inspections (i.e. every 100 hours of use they are inspected), annual inspections, preventivie maintence, AD's, service bulletines, etc. That plane may have been made in the 40s, but in all likely hood it has had more rebuilds, major overhauls and teardowns that you would nto believe. But the fact remains these aircraft are HIGHLY stressed everytime they are put into use. So no matter how much you do, no matter what you do, failures will happen, and they do happen, all the time. Failures are nearly routine (not to scare you) but most aircraft (and ALL that carry passengers for hire) are built with reduntant systems, many 2 or 3. But you dont hear about those failures. But every now and then, that small single failure is or becomes something catastrophic. Did you know the 747 was first flown in 1969? MANY of them still flying are nearly that old. Without major problems and a great safety record I might add. I wouldnt look at the aircraft as much as i would look at this companies inspections/overhaul procedures - but the FAA/NTSB is probably already on top of that. So again, my condolences to the families. The pilots who do this high risk flying, they are heros in my book (they know the risk they face). Derek

Lets see: Number of round reserve rides I saw this weekend 1:4:0 :) So my sit is coming along damn well, I am working on sit to sit transitions, can do front flips, back flips, and L/R cartwheels. ;) Now I need someone to jump with to get some proof (and see how relative i can stay). So I guess I blew right by the A license, and am at B license territory now, with 43 jumps now. *MUWAHAHA* Wasnt but a few weeks ago I was just off AFF.

Im ADD/HyperActive. I used to take the evil ritalin. But it seriously screwed with my stomach, turned me into a zombie, I was miserable inside, but hell my mom and everyone else was happy. Needless to say, I took myself off ritalin. I have been off of it for a while. I was an Honor student Pre, I was post too (in HS). Going off caused a slight drop in my grades, but I dont care, numbers arent everyrhing, it is a little more difficult for me to function socially, I dont quite fit into the square whole anymore. But thats for the better, I love being different. I am me. So yeah, thats the short of it. Derek P.S. Check it, if its nice, I will be at the DZ sunday (Ill be there sat too probably but since I have to work Im not going to be there long enought to jump). I have a few firsts that are being repayed, plus I jacked about $250 from my tuition acct to jump. I plan on using that and all the $$$ I have in my pocket to jump my ass off. Obviously there will be many firsts in there. (first solo, first RW i suspect, hopefully some nice first creative exits *long live the skyvan*, first jump on my own packjob if all goes by plan). Agree with Aggie. We can check out software from our library. XP, Visual studio, 2000, office, those are the PC titles tho... I think many schools do that kinda thing, Have to check into it. Also, find other ppl who have macs and bum a copy of there software. (the 800mhz system comes with a burner.)
