  1. I've got a few from the 90's...the straps wear out with age.. $0.49 each to fix at jo-ann fabrics for some new elastic. Brings them back to like new.
  2. I had a similar question about a used canopy fitting into my new Javelin... I just contacted Sunpath and got word that it would.... who would really know best? ;)
  3. something > nothing my reserve does not have the loading my main does, I'd say my reserve.. but how whould you know? letting the AAD do it's thing?... not everyone has one do something is the right choice IMHO
  4. lol.. been there done that. when I started, main and reserves both had ripcords.. I was looking through my logbook the other day.. noticed my transition from rip cord to throw out class and jump.. it went well. then next jump however I read in my notes: (~) "...pulled, didn't feel anything, no slowing down, no line stretch...nothing.. looked left, nothing; looked right ...and there the pilot chute was, right there in my hand.. let go and an otherwise uneventful deployment.." back then, throwing the ripcord away cost some money! haven't had a problem getting rid of one since ;)
  5. I didn't go to 'em, but they were often talked about back then.. I had forgotten all about them till I saw this thread :)
  6. in the 90's, jumping an F111 9 cell.. I thought nothing of a throwning at 2k. that was with an RSL. AAD? ha!, at that time, a very pricey option. FFD to today, Sabre2, AAD and Cypress; pull by 3k, there is about 1k of snivil (~), so I'm open by 2k and have time to deal with any malf.
  7. this came up today, I thought para-gear would have them for sure.. no dice.. Square 1 has them in their catalog quiet an assortment keywords: RW stamps, Box man, freefly, canopy and wingsuit page 167 of the 08-09 catalog
  8. 1992 World Freefall Convention, Quincy, IL first pass, trial run. Boeing 727 due to a signal mixup in the aircraft, we left with the airplane doing 205 MPH! people lost altimeters, helmets, goggles..anything not fully secured.. one person did not make our 4 way, but it was a blast. we landed a couple miles away from the airport. locals were great and gave us a ride back. eta: have a special certificate for it and everything. DB Cooper #41
