  1. Liar Such a nasty little mouse... What part of No Personal Attacks don't you get? You don't like Shah? Fine, go find someone you do like. Why do you continue to invest all this negative energy? I don't read a lot of these threads. So, have I missed some huge wrong he's done to you? it's not negative, it neutral, I feel nothing for the guy, I’m, just replying to words on a screen, that conflict with other words on a screen that he previously repeated and often has posted. If he never posted again it would not bother me or bring me joy in any way shape or form., same applies to pretty much anyone on here, as I’m sure it would also apply to me for others. try not to sweat the little things in life like the internet, I’m about to leave for work and I assure you once i turn of the computer i will give no further consideration to any thing that is posted here by anyone, until i read the little words on a different screen, and continue my idle entertainment

    Reno Air Races

http://fsims.faa.gov/wdocs/8900.1/v03%20tech%20admin/chapter%2005/03_005_001.pdf I just got home from a long drive. If I'm reading this correctly. They let spectators get awfully close (500 feet) to the "Aerobatic Contest Box." I thought the minimum was 1500 feet. Which still sounds too close for a race. I've never been to one of these races. Those planes do what, 400+MPH? That's >500FPS. I see your point about having to accept some risk to be able to see the event live. These recent tragedies make me wonder if regulations requiring bunkers are in the offing. Thank You for replying w/the pertinent links, & for explaining it to me.

    Reno Air Races

I've got a stupid question. I thought airshows are heavily regulated by the FAA. Those regs include keeping the planes away from the spectators. I haven't watched any video on this, yet. Were the planes running close to the grandstands? Or, was this a freak accident wherein the plane covered A LOT of ground before going in?
  5. I think life has just presented you w/your next avatar (attached), Shah. It's definitely you.
  6. Thanks, An instructor had warned me about that possibility....after I'd already re-jumped it .
  7. Estonia uses the metric system. FWIW, I once cleared a line-over (not packed by me) by pulling down hard on the effected side's toggle. The steering cascade slid off the three choked cells w/a loud fwumph! Disclaimer: Newbie_Newbie_Newbie....
  8. Nice looking ride, Dave. You might like this mini-documentary about your car's dastardly-deeded past: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk52tDKELdQ

  10. I'll add that the Optima allows for adjusting the volume & pitch of the alarms. That has proven to be very useful for me (hearing damage). Disclaimer: Newbie_Newbie_Newbie...

  13. What's missing, Jen? (Aber etwas fehlt) Cute cartoon. Get used to the fear, & make your peace w/it. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. If you can put a string of jumps together within a short time. You'll feel better up there faster. There are some threads about that floating around here. Enjoy the journey.
  14. No personal experience w/portables. 18. Andy, I just finished reading through two more of those supportive PMs you say I'm imagining. One of them slammed the both of you for your abusive ways. We had a good laugh about it. Seeing as how I've never discussed my Audible w/anyone @my current DZ. I'm not sure where this regurgitation you keep mentioning, is coming from. The ideas I put forth in questions are mine. Rather than merely trying to discount them as not being my own? You could have answered them. I think I asked a couple of good ones in this thread. Discrediting the source is one of those kiddy trix you like to cite. Others can disagree w/me. That's fine. A few up-jumpers who sent me some of those imaginary PMs don't agree w/my Audible ideas, either. I respect their opinions. I also give them far more weight than yours, & am rethinking the issues. Why? Because they don't have the arrested development, we_get_to_abuse_the_new_guys mentality you two have displayed. The venom you two have spewed my way goes well beyond mere hazing. There was malice in it. I'm sure I want nothing more to do w/either one of you. Happily, almost everyone where I jump is very friendly & helpful. Plus, there are a few people here @DZ.com I can go to for answers. OK, you can chime up again in rebuttal. I'm done w/this. Carry on...
  19. I'm sorry. Who are you? You talk like you've been around for years, but have a brand new account w/no info filled in. I smell bacon.
  20. What is it w/you, Chuck? He's the guy hangs around the DZ a lot but makes very few jumps (like say, 60 in 2 years), preferring instead to spend most of his time on the ground pointing out everything everyone is doing wrong - according to him - to everyone within earshot. Wrong on every count, except the 60 jumps in two years. I got hurt last year, & couldn't finish the license. I work a lot of hours, & jump whenever I can. It's not nearly as often as I'd like. When I am there. I jump far more than I talk. I never badmouth other peoples' flying. He's the guy that instructors warn their students not to listen to and he knows that, but he continues to tell students what's best for them anyway. You're wrong here, too. I'll occasionally mention what my experiences have been so far. I ALWAYS follow that up by telling them to ask their instructors. He's the guy who takes out the formation and then claims someone flew under him...even though everyone else was in the formation waiting on him. You're wrong again, Chuck. When I screw up. I own it, & ask how not to. Most of my jumps are two-ways, w/an occasional three-way. I try not to impose on others' group dives. I know I'm not very good. I did funnel a three-way, once. I was afraid they'd be mad @me. They were laughing their heads off when I found them
