I have a charango. Picked it up in Cusco, Peru, a few years ago after hiking Machu Piccu. It's a 10 string, smallish, guitar-like instrument. The tuning is very different, and the rythems are really cool. I love Andean/Inca music. Really fun, upbeat, etc.

I was going to make my 300th at Rantoul last year a raft dive... but that kinda fell through. Soooo... if you guys let me on one of your fabulous raft dives, it will be a FIRST and i WILL pay up ! I know a few women who've worked in strip clubs. None of them deserve the label "skank", imho. Hey, please don't get me wrong here... I know some strippers that I've been friends with over the years that are NOT skanks. However, performing sexual acts in private shows with people you don't know... that's just sketchy to me. Maybe the word "skank" is a bit harsh, but that's just my opinion. As far as just stripping for entertainment... that's cool... it's a job... and a fun one for some from what I hear. So, to respond to your post, I was NOT calling all strippers skanks... just the ones that go too far. And to Vertifly... Hey bud, my friend wasn't totally devistated by the party... it just wasn't his thing. And you're right... he's not the type that frequents strip clubs to begin with. He had told everyone that he wasn't interested in that kind of entertainment, and then it was more or less shoved down his throat (well, not in the literal sense .) Explaining the whip marks all over his body to his newlywed wife the next day... I hear that was interesting. Oh, well... that's just my story. If a couple has equal understanding and they are not offended by that sort of adventure... well, sweet... more power to em.

Like the rest of these airlines... it's probably an "enjoy it while you can" situation. I'm sure they will eventually have to raise the cost.

Just found out about a new airline. It is called Independence Air, and was formerly the low-cost operation for United Airlines. You can only buy tickets from www.flyi.com (this way the airline can keep fares low by not paying commissions to agents and other websites). My brother-in-law just pointed this out to me. There are one-way tickets for about $59 out of a lot of major hubs.

I know, I know.... And you are TOTALLY right... it's just tough. I guess this girl was just sooooooo different than the rest of our "crew" that it was hard to deal with. She was one of those "all about me" kinda people and she honestly didn't seam to give a damn about Bill's opinion on anything. She just kept telling him "how it was going to be." I'm gonna leave him be and try to find a way to relate to her I guess. Just tough. And I want the best for him. I guess it's hard to stand by and watch because I am the exact opposite of this woman. The thing I love about being in a wonderful relationship, is that second opinion that balances my life out. I would never want to be with someone that was just a "space filler" or as the rest of my friends put it "a pet." And that is what this girl has made my friend. Oh, well.

Liz... and I did a low turn a few weekends ago too rather than land downwind. Was too busy thinkin about the bomb-digity jump i had just done, and making it back to the airport... and, well, I turned a bit too low. The powers that be were on my side, and I was promptly told to go work on my flat turns and smarten up. My bad. Won't happen again. Good thread Dave.

That comment hit home on me...... I agree.....I Beg you, Pray, plead, ask, nobody deserves that..... No sh*t. I tried to say something to him in a nice way. In an email yesterday morning, I had written... "ummm... so karen.... she's cool. but boy does she have your life planned out!!! hahahaha. just hope it's what you want dude. :) " he didn't seam to "get it" I guess. He was definately the topic of whispering that was going on this weekend. Everyone of our mutual friends feels the same way I do... if not stronger. She just wouldn't shut up. I asked her... so, does Bill have anything to do with the planning of the wedding? And with an evil cackle of a laugh, she told me that she's letting him "pick the music" but that she would definatley be editing the list. I was like... gee, great. Oh, well. His life I guess. Hahahaha... so, at the wedding, when they ask "does anyone have a problem with these people getting married"... I'll be the one standing up and objecting.

What can I do??? I met my friend Bill's "fiance" this weekend. I've known Bill for 9 years now. He met this girl 3 months ago, apparently "fell in love", proposed, and she already has planned out the entire wedding and from the sound of it, his whole life. Now, I know Bill well, and so do a few of my friends. He's been kinda desperate to "get laid" over the last couple of years... not the best in social situations... and we all kinda agree that this whole thing is BS. I know it is NONE of my business and there is NOTHING I can do... but it sucks to sit back and watch a friend enter into a life of hell. I feel rather helpless. Plus, in a rather selfish way... I really don't want to deal with this girl being at every social function we have over the next 50 years. Grrrr... whuffos! I guess I just needed to vent. Anyone been in a similar situation?

My 3 year old nephew saw it on opening day and loved it. He told us all about it.

It was excellent. Seeing it for the second time tonight.

It is funny. We saw it on Sunday. This is take 2. And btw... a bubble bath sounds sooooooooo nice right about now.

Wrongway is driving up and we are taking my 5 year old nephew, Kai, to see Shrek2.
