those were so cool. I am also reminded of Penny racers. for those that dont remember those... they were little freakishly distorted stubby cars about 5/8" wide and 3/4" long (in other words, barely longer than they were wide) with a little license plate like holder on the back. pull them back and away they went. put a penny in the license plate holder, and they would do wheelies in circles instead. I also had the coolest shooting gallery... it was a handgun and a plexi box full of targets (bells, swinging targets, etc) and ball bearings. the gun had a magnetic tip that when you pulled the trigger, the magnet would slide back from the tip of the barrel (inside the gun) and then release abruptly back to the tip of the barrel. you would turn the box upside down to reset the targets, and make the ball bearings move to the top of the box. you would tilt it back vertically so that the ball bearings would land in a series of pockets at the front of the box at the bottom. you would put the barrel of the gun against the plastic in front of a ball, and slide it up along the glass(the magnet would hold the bearing) when you pulled the trigger, it would do what I call the "croquet effect" and send the ball downrange to the target. if he wont work through an intermediary, drops price too easily, something is wrong. get a photo of the serial#. confirm its not reported stolen. yes, and I did so quite intentionally and totally pre meditative. so my best freind marries a bitch. she cheats on him, tries fooling around with me before they were engaged (she was icky... I avoided it), and after they were married, she totaled both his cars, maxed his CC's and then left him and moved in w/two guys. they divorced shortly afterwards. fast forward a year. she comes back to town. calls me out of the blue (after I drove 16 hours each way the previous year to console him after her leaving) she wants to go out. on comes the proverbial light. suuuure I'd love to. "oh, can we meet somewhere? my boyfreind I am living with doesnt know about this" suuure. meet me about 5 miles from your place at a dept store... we meet, and she brings a tacky leather rose to give me. I accept it and proceed to drive her to my favorite restaurant. one that is all the way across town, coincidentally with no windows. we sit down, and order drinks. about halfway thru drinks, I excuse myself to go to the restroom. I get to the restroom (by the hostess stand) and explain the situation to the hostess.... "you see, I am here on a date with my best freind's ex wife" her jaw drops. " she screwed him over, left him ruined financially and emotionally, and now expects me to forget all that and go out with her." her jaw drops even more. "here is a letter I would like you to give to her in 5 minutes. it explains what jsut happened. Also, here is $20 to cover our our tab (two cokes) and the rest is for your trouble." and with that I walked out (the hostess was beaming at the thought of getting to deliver this letter... or the $17 tip, not sure) Basically the letter read "you ruin my best freind and expect me to go out with you? not a chance. You are a vile creature. go back where you came from, nobody wants you back here in this town. good luck explaining to your BF how you got here." talk about refreshing. I had a guy break into my car to steal my stereo. actually, they didnt break into my car. the pass door was unlocked. my GF broke the auto locks by pulling up on the handle as I hit the power locks, stripping the gears (you could unlock, but not lock them w/the button). I forgot to manually lock that door that nite. funny thing, he only got the faceplate. he gave up on trying to pry out the unit itself. and for some reason when he left the car, he took the damn thing with him. the only annoying part was I actually went to best buy that AM to inquire about what to do about my broken stereo that was covered by a BB warranty. it would freak out and stop responding to the buttons. Hell, when you turned off the car, it would keep on playing. they wanted me to rip it out and bring it in for credit. I didnt have time to take it out that day, and was gonna do it the next day. then most annoying part, was that even though I still had the unit (which was dead and under warranty) they prevented me from getting it fixed (I had to return it with all the parts). I would have to buy a new faceplate, which was almost as much as the unit iteslf... Two wrongs don't make a right, however three lefts DO!

Reminds me of the fun I had in HS, when you could still walk into a drugstore and buy cool stuff like Potassium Nitrate and Potassium Permanganate off the shelf. Smoke bombs made by CAREFULLY melting sugar with Potassium Nitrate (in the right proportions) were a blast. then using a bit of the permanganate and another seemingly harmless liquid substance an aisle or two over to ignite the mix without matches was classic. He gets flamed ALOT by Race Pimps like Sharpton and Jackson who live and breathe off of racism. They dont like his ideas, because if the african american population actually took his advice to heart, it would put those two (and thier ilk) out of business so to speak. Although I have to say, Sharpton isnt quite as bad as the media makes him out to be. When he isnt being selectively quoted or sound bit (bited?), he actually has some coherent ideas. I saw him on the Glenn Beck show where they had a non-charged honest debate where the host wasnt trying to bait or prod him to say inflammatory or outrageous things like mainstream media does. Just remember a basic rule of business that nobody seems to get. "Businesses DONT pay taxes" . For those that arent quick enough to catch onto the theory... any tax you levvy on a business will IMMEDIATELY be passed on to Joe Customer. It wont come out of the corporate bottom line... its a cost of doing business, just the same as if the cost of the raw materials increased. If only more people understood that reality... The school doesnt claim he was on school grounds, only that he was at a school sponsored event. Had he gone to that SAME spot at 5pm on his OWN and this happened, then I'd say the school overstepped thier bounds, but in this case I'm with the school. Unfortunately for the kid, he didnt think it all through. He just thought to himself "gee, we'll be off the school property, I can get away with this since im not IN school, or ON school property." He simply didnt think it through from all angles and forgot it was school sponsored. Same thing should have happened if they bussed the kids across town during school hours. thats a rather subjective statement. Many more feel that performing these "stunts" (your word) are far from safe. Just because he didnt kill anyone doing something risky doesnt mean he was safe... he was lucky. Using your logic , allow me to make the following statement: "Evel Knievel is a safe individua." If go out and juggle chain saws while standing over my infant and nobody gets hurt I am considered a safe person? In your mind do you have to actually get hurt or killed to be "unsafe" even though you were doing things that are considered by the majority to be unsafe? What people fail to realize, is its not always the "victim" that saves himself using a firearm... its usually an armed bystander that is able to step up since the police cant be everywhere at once. Guns in primary schools? Obviously not a good idea. Guns in adult centered education institutions? not so black and white. Its the armed citizens saving the day that generally dont make the news... As I re-read this... its easy. you get a cool 4x6-ish card (or at least you used to) indicating that you passed your exam and when you did so. so producing said "proof" is easy unless you are a total slacker/tard and lost it (or lied about getting one in the first place if thats what you are eluding to). They may make 5-10 revisions of the same drive in its' lifetime, and sometimes it changes the way it writes to the platters between revisions. Could be great, could be "deadly" to the data on the drive. I did that the wrong way once. tried the trick with a board that was 3 revs different. never saw the data again.
