There's no way a packer could miss seeing the slider laying in the pack tray, if it was down on the connector links, and you said you didn't see it. It must have been up or partially up. Life is short ... jump often.

Pack job = $ 5.00...Pack job slider up $ 2.50 extra. Life is short ... jump often.

Wow....People on those threads really do seem passionate about this. Lots to read there for anyone, like me, who had not read them before. Seems like a 50/50 split on how people feel. Very enlightening. Thanks for the "clicky" to the threads. Life is short ... jump often.

Would you explain please, sir. Life is short ... jump often.

The 45 deg seperation rule ( not a rule, but smart ) is very acceptable. For one thing, you have to look out at the jumper who exitted before you, and "watch the seperation". Counting is not the only method. Let's say the two way freefliers just left ahead of you. They did a headdown exit, but were unable to get vertical for what ever reason, and are still tracking along the line of flight. You never looked at them because you only count. You exit, not realizing you have very little horizontal seperation. They are now under you. One of their pitot chutes gets loose and a premature opening happens. You hit this jumper. Think this is an unrealistic senerio ? I use the 45 deg method. Life is short ... jump often.

I saw that too....not even a wrinkle at 110 mph. Do you think all the rest is that tight ? Life is short ... jump often. -
1976- Ted Nugent cracked the walls in Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento. I was there , it was great. Same concert....Rush....Totally great..... Best stage show ever,The Tubes. No Shit........... The worst,The Grateful Dead. I like the music, but on stage, they suck, even with the pot brownies we ate. Life is short ... jump often.

Need help, having doubts.

Hi GP, I've been following your progress for about 6 months. Could you make a list for me on this forum of all the things you have dialed in. The things you can do correctly everytime. I know there are some things that you do best. Like not funneling the exit, being aware of your altitude and when to pull, etc....I know you feel confident about some of these learned aspects of your jumps. Have a beer or two, and let me know which of these things you feel comfortable with. Each thing you list, you can be proud of....... See you at the exit point. Life is short ... jump often. -

I can't believe the blocks of ice got to altitude without melting. Kari Byron is hot enough to melt ice. Life is short ... jump often. -
mjosparky, following your insight to the line of flight from left to right, watch the jumper's head drop in the same direction, which would be typical of a normal cutaway and the reserve comes off his/her back. If the jumper was falling onto his/her back after cutaway, the reserve would have come around one side or the other and flipped the jumper around. You don't see that....I know a CRW girl who jumps a reverse set up sometimes just for fun, and lands it backwards. Don't try that at home. Life is short ... jump often.

Totally agree with sundevil. Find a rigger you can watch, at least attaching your main. In my opinion, every jumper should know how to attach and unattach their main from the container. How to attach the main to their risers. How and why to do a simple line check, and how to do a complete line check. Also, how to properly attach bridles to main canopies, and pilot chutes to bridles. All of this is basic stuff and should be known by every jumper. In my opinion. Most of this is NOT included in a packing course, but will make you a more informed jumper and rig owner. Hi Monkey, By the way, Bill told me, no more "bottled" beer, green, brown, or clear. Time to pick your favorite canned beer at LPC. Life is short ... jump often.

How many jumps in six weeks?
jumpsalot-2 replied to lupinelacuna's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I jump where my Reginal Director jumps. Now while I may be a moron, and apparently, a liar, he is years and years ahead of me with skydive, and Drop Zone knowledge. If he jumps at Lodi, that's good enough for me. I've been jumping there for ten years or so. Life is short ... jump often. -

Don't overlook " Lodi Parachute Center " for the best jump planes, Twin Otters, great instruction, friendly people, and lowest jump ticket prices. Also closest to Yosemite. Life is short ... jump often. -

Did you ever think your main would be your reserve?

Good job by who ever gave him that shove....Get the hell off of this plane ...... Life is short ... jump often. -
Fear of the unknown. What will it be like when you solo out the door into the pitch dark ? Well, you're 2 miles in the air.....nothing to hit.....with good seperation. You see all the lights on the ground during freefall for guidance. You can see the landing area all lit up for you. Everyone, including you, has a visable flashing strobe light that can be seen for miles (Required ). For little ways, you and your friends cover your wrists, ankles, maybe boobies with "snap lights", and your formation looks like a beatiful light show up close. All for the fun, because yes, it is fun. It's a fun jumper party in fact. I'm sorry you are missing this party. It's there for you. Life is short ... jump often.
