Can anything be learned from this video?
jumpsalot-2 replied to -ftp-'s topic in General Skydiving Discussions
As far as letting other people pack your rig, at least do a line check and stow the brakes yourself, before giving your rig to the packer....It looked to me like she had little penetration into the wind heading toward the airport, then turned around to land....maybe a downwind landing, speeding her up some on landing. I could just be seeing things.... Life is short ... jump often. -
Maybe she should be suing the asphault company who laid the asphault down. She was on the asphault wasn't she ? Life is short ... jump often.

Exit Order Safety Article
jumpsalot-2 replied to BrianSGermain's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Brain Germain, human. Although the 45 deg. rule is proven in-appropriate to judge exit seperation. One thing to point out, that we all see on jump runs. Jumpers who don't even watch the group ahead of them in freefall. Stick you damn head out the door and WATCH how they fall in relation to the plane, while also noting the planes speed or progress across the ground. Take the few seconds (7, 10, 15 etc.) to assess this info......yes in the mean time others will be yelling GO, GO, GO......but we need to make sure first before exiting...... try this on a night jump
jumpsalot-2 replied to bodypilot90's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Too much light in the plane or on the jump, affects everyone's eyes. The pilot, you, and your friends. Would make for a cool BASE jump, but your eyes would still be affected......maybe wear sunglasses during freefall.... Life is short ... jump often. -

why doesnt everyone use an AAD?
jumpsalot-2 replied to eyeinthesky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
QuoteGotta ask...Which is the better part of a BASE rig ? If you just get the container, you won't be jumping off more than a 5 ft. exit point...If you just buy the canopy....well, I guess you could just hold on to the connector links, and try to kite it.....while standing on the ground. I'd say they are both the better part....when used and attached together.........Don't forget to bring your pilot chute and bridle along.... Life is short ... jump often. -
I would drive 1000 miles to Oklahoma City for:
jumpsalot-2 replied to decompresion's topic in The Bonfire
I'm actually here, in Oklahoma right now. Driving from California to Nogales Arizona, to Oklahoma City, to Missouri, to Illinois, back to Missouri, and into Oklahoma again.....How about 100 jump tickets at Lodi Parachute Center for my efforts, or 75 at Lincoln CA Airport.....Hi Pat.....I'd jump Lincoln anyday.....it's home to me...... He did it without a wing-suit or a box catcher or a fancy runway :)
jumpsalot-2 replied to jeb's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Do you think there is video/film of this still around? Would be exciting to see the double PLF as the guy left the horse. If only they had a horsey head helmet GoPro faced back at the action..... Life is short ... jump often. -
Redbull 60k foot test jump
jumpsalot-2 replied to PhreeZone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Wow, I drove right by the drop zone (Roswell) that day and didn't even know it was going on. I bet he goes big for the record, with that suit. Nothing to rip HIS glove in that exit point.... -
Redbull 60k foot test jump
jumpsalot-2 replied to PhreeZone's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Will he be the only jumper (famous) going out at 60K, or will he be with a video (support crew) person? My point of course, they both have an equal share of the fame........I do like Felix's jump vids by the way. Always going for first to get to the exit point... -
One thing that has not changed for the years you have been gone........the new guy must buy beer......still......sorry, that's just the way it is...... Life is short ... jump often.

Heads up to AFF-I's in Virginia

It just dawned on me that once we're out the door, we are ALL deaf, and use sign language to communicate with each other....... -
Heads up to AFF-I's in Virginia
jumpsalot-2 replied to BillyVance's topic in Skydivers with Disabilities
My best friend growing up was deaf, as were many of his friends from school. I found them very aware of their surrounding thru neccesity. Let this guy know and understand the rules and method of a landing pattern, using a qualified sign language interpreter to explain the pattern, and he will be fine. I didn't use a radio in my training in 1999. I just did what I was told, and hit the center of the field at the barn in Davis......He's not a moran.....he's deaf. Life is short ... jump often. -
Maybe smoke a Blunt or two, DD. Then get back to the project.... Editted for clarity..... Life is short ... jump often.

QuoteNow THAT is a guy who needs a GoPro ( with window suction attachment )........as long as he has more than 200 train surfs, of course........

It was just stated you need a "lighter" wingload on F111. Example: 1.0/1 on z-po or .09/1 or less on F111, of the same canopy size. Example: exit weight = 180lbs = 190 sq ft F111 canopy. Life is short ... jump often.

They couldn't of changed it too much, or it wouldn't be a Phantom anymore. Hard to change from perfection to a "better" perfection. Life is short ... jump often.

Well, at least he didn't hit the road.......or the road crew would have had to fix the divot his broken bone gouged out...... Life is short ... jump often. -
Good to see a bush landing at the end instead of another rock. Hate to see it at all.....but better a bush than a rock..... Life is short ... jump often.
