Really? I`m dying to see some skydiving action on tv (I have a few videos, but those don`t count)... I want to see the teams compete in all disciplines... TELEVISED LIKE OTHER X-SPORTS LiquidSky @(^_^)@
-
I just saw on tv a commercial for the OLN (Canadian Network), about the X-Games they have called: Gravity Games. I don`t t have that channel in Puerto Rico, but does someone know if there`s Skydiving involved? And/Or if, who`s competing? LiquidSky @(^_^)@

I'm going to try to give up meat....need advice
mirochristie replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
And I hope you don`t, since they are too greasy and you don`t need that. Why don`t you like tofu? It`s not that bad. You just have to season it loke you season a piece of meat, cook it like a stake or whatever, and eat it. Or scramble it and have scrambled tofu in the morning. Remember to season it.. maybe that`s the problem Soy meat is great also, and nowadays you`ll find many veggan produce in the supermarkets. Vegetarian Info: http://www.vrg.org/ Tofu recipies: http://www.tofu.com/recipes.html Tofu Info: http://soyfoods.com/soyfoodsdescriptions/tofu.html Good luck! and eat well! LiquidSky @(^_^)@ -

I know exactly what you mean! I lost a good friend of mine, once under a low turn. He bounced pretty nasty on the runway, right in front of me and a group of the local skydivers on that Dz. He was my AFF JM also, so you must understand how much I loved and worshiped him. He was my coach, good friend, and mentor and suddenly, of out the blue BAM! That feeling I felt that day, I no longer wish to feel ever again! I held his hand, I even spoke to him telling him to his face that he was going to be ok, that the ambulance was coming...when deep down I knew he was already dead. I couldn`t sleep for months, that feeling kept hunting me, I felt like this huge black shadow was right behing me. Quite disturbing. I saw death that night when my friend passed away. I had only 50 jumps, but I kept skydiving. When you said: I understand what you mean. 2 years later, a guy died at our annual boogie. He hit the ground right in front of every single person at the Dz that day. Like a 100 tandems that day! W/ family members, etc. That guy had a loose toggle, and instead of cutting away, he deployed his reserve. Well, he tried to cutaway but he was so nervous he had his thumb inside the webbing (where the cutaway handle and velcro meet). He was pulling his webbing, not his cutaway handle! (he had his camera on, that`s how we got the datails) So he had 2 canopies opened. He had a downplane, and SPLAT! I was worried, I felt strange, sick to my stomach, nervous, but I never felt what I felt the day I saw my friend died. So when you said: I know. Been there. So, thanx for sharing, for taking all that weight off your shoulder, and I totaly agree w/ you in many parts of this thread. Thanx, I hope many many dz.com users read this too. Good luck, safe swoops and blue skies! -Christie LiquidSky @(^_^)@

Thanx Yeah, I did!... Landing my reserve First of all, on Thursday you remember the the weather sucked at WFFC, right? And they were doing 2x1 Hop & Pops from the Sikorsky S-58, well I went for it (and deep down I really didn`t feel like it A $30. hop & pop... from 3,000ft??!!...) But I went! I jumped, had my pic taken on exit. Really cool! and tracked away from my friends... Deployed, and the pilot chute got wrapped in a KNOT! around my right arm! So, I was low, not much time to deal w/ it right? I tried twice to remove it, and went straight for my reserve handle. And as I was about to land (my feet were like 2 or 3ft from touching the ground, my reserve colapsed. I felt the ground was pulled from underneath me, I was going to hit the ground flat on my back (you could see on my video my feet coming up) so I guess it was natural, like an instinct almost, that I opened my arms to the sides, and my left elbow recieved all the pressure on the fall I am healing ok, so I`m guessing in 2 more weeks I`ll be ok to skydive some more! LiquidSky @(^_^)@

Hmmmmmm... I wonder what they taste like????? LiquidSky @(^_^)@

Sounds too tempting ... I`ll have to talk to Julio now! Dr. Adam??!!! LOL I call him Dr. Adam too! Well, he`s been the only Dr. intrested, and I even scaned my Xrays and send him an e-mail so he could see how bad it was. Good for me, it`s not broken or fractured... we are guessing ligaments! So, I have a Dr. appointment on Sept. 20, till then I have to deal w/ it. LiquidSky @(^_^)@

OMG Nooooooo!.... not you too! (I busted my elbow landing my reserve @ wffc this year), I guess we can team up now Didn`t you know that rollerblading is a dangerous sport? Well, heal quickly, November is close now, and the Keys Boogie needs you! Take care, ok? See you soon, -Christie LiquidSky @(^_^)@

Invite him for a Tandem, and get the TM to really scare him .. I mean really scare him, from the ride up, to the landing. That guy deserves worst, I know, ... Oooooh I have an idea,.... try to infect his computer w/ a virus, punch a whole in his tires (all 4 of them), make crank calls to his wife, ... Or do nothing at all, because you only get what you give, right LiquidSky @(^_^)@ -
Oh,...I`m sorry LiquidSky @(^_^)@
