Not Making It Into the Pattern
bodypilot1 replied to MagicGuy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
First, who spotted? You? If you weren't spotting, always be ready to pull higher. On a Cessna it's easy to take a second, when climbing out, and look at where the spot is to see it's off, if it is, pull higher. Same goes for anyother plane. Glance down during your freefall. Since you were wearing weights, I assume you were doing RW with other people? Never be afraid to track off early and pull either, you can explain why when the other get back from their long walk...... As for the wrong pattern, you landed safe without doing a low turn. If the wrong pattern put you over things you shouldn't have been over and you had clear landing area other then that, maybe you shouldn't make that mistake again...... Dont be so hard on yourself, shit happens. You landed safe, and thats what matters. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
This is exactly why alot of flockers, that have been flying wingsuits for a few years, are not wanting to do larger formations. Too many zoomies....... Staying in smaller groups and flying cleaner formations is what I'm hearing alot of people want. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Here. BS... Here is his what he clearly posted: "This site is in no way associated with Bird-Man, Inc or bird-man.com © 2003-2005 Flybirdman.com - All Rights Reserved" Kevin website is in no way bias. He tries to have all wingsuit information available and he has some very informative information there about all wingsuits. He just may have chosen the wrong name, but then again, Birdman was the only wingsuit maker when he started the website. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

I dout it scared them any, but most other jumpers that don't fly a wingsuit think wingsuit flocking is just zooming around the sky. Unfortunatly, there are alot of flockers that do. Having these setup's, cross referencing, leaving slot's open for another flyer to fit into, and holding steady in your slot when you get there, are all part of making a beautiful formation. But, after one formation is complete, it fun to transition to a second or third too. Flying just one formation for the entire skydive can be very boring, but flying clean multi point wingsuit formations are alot of fun. Most wingsuit flyers I've seen these days have no idea what relative work is, and it would be a great improvement to their flocking knowledge if they studied the dynamics of how large RW formations are built, and flown aswell.

New AFF students take a look...
bodypilot1 replied to floridadiver81's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What you have is common for the beginning student. Student gear is made for alot of different body type. Let the AFF nstructors adjust the students gear for the first jump, unless you feel your ready to take up first jump students? Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -

Congrats on the A license, but if you hurt your ankle on a 190, what will your landing be like on your 175 reserve? Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -

It isn't a freefall discipline issue. There are alot of RW jumpers flying fast canopies. Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Bit of a layoff + new canopy. Quick question...
bodypilot1 replied to grue's topic in Safety and Training
Oh NO, you'll probably forget to pull too!....... Shit, just go jump. You'll probably wont even notice a difference....... Be safe Ed www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
IMO, USPA can do nothing. If they think educating people, who already think they know everything, is going to help prevent this from happening, they are wasting their time. And banning swooping from their DZ's will only make them go to non USPA DZ's to do it. Jumpers that do other then a standard pattern need to understand when it's the right time to, and it is safe to do so, and also when it's not, and do a straight in approach.
