A Safire2 119 isn't much bigger or dosile. If your not farmiliar with how it opens, it would be good to make some jumps on it before jumping it with a wingsuit.

I would not consider a Katana WL 1.6+ a right choice of canopy for wingsuit flights. I have over 1500 on a Nitron 98 loaded at 1.96 with only 1 cutaway, and another 600 on a 108. If it's the canopy he regularly jumps and knows the limitations the wingsuit puts on you after deployment, there is nothing wrong with them, but thats his choice. Jumping a canopy your comfortable with and knowing exactly what the canopy does during deployment is essential, and that you are going to need to take care of a few things after you throw the pilot chute before you can reach up the the steering toggles. Everyone should know what they are flying 100% before adding the complications of a wingsuit, and it's also good to get some good wingsuit instuction before jumping one.
