The airports airspace contains "air planes". It's not all your own just because there are jumpers being dropped. Jumpers are responsible for looking for aircraft in the area before they jump. The pilot flying below you is not required to communicate in uncontrolled airspace, and may not have even have been on the same frequency. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

If the rig didn't fit as well as they would have like, enough for them NOT to buy it, then they shouldn't have jumped it. If they have a mal and have to use YOUR reserve, then hell yes they should have to pay extra for using it. Would one expect to take money off of a main, per jump, if they were buying it? Would someone think of paying the same price for a reserve that had 5 uses on it vs zero? Or offer less because of how many times it was used? www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
The break offs for the formations will be controlled and safe. The ones who make it unsafe will be quickly removed from the formations, and have the chance to watch from the ground. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

You have a whole 2 jumps and think this is for the rest of your life? Tell them the average skydiver only stays in the sport jumping actively for maybe 2-3yrs, then they spend the rest of the time posting in this forum. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

question about making a living

Last time I checked (sometime last year) Lodi paid only $20 or maybe $25 per tandem and $5 per tandem pack job. But then again with their sheer volume you are still making more than most dzs. The TI's also make good tips with the gratuity packs the student gets when they pay for the $100 tandem. With the tips it's more like $35-$40, now add the volume. They aren't hurtin' www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com -
Actually I never use radios for my private students. The 2 working tandems allows them canopy control and input if needed. What I meant was, how ever the student lands, good or bad, it should be noted in the log book, on every jump. What is the correct fix for the feet? That is what should be noted. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Shit, I want to read it before that, and bull shit over a bottle of wine, Buddy. Your instructors input was worthles though, you right. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

Why would an instructor assume that they will be the students only in instructor they jump with? Though I teach privately, and take my students through all the levels until I sign them off for solo, I still write in the log book as though another instructor were taking them on their next jump. So your saying after you do 2 good exits, a student will always do a great exit, so there is no need to write how the exit was? Sure, why not? Again, why assume they are not going to jump with another instructor? I know, they always do perfect landing after they do a couple of good ones....... There should be no belittling in any log book entry A Sky God entry is "Welcome to my world", short worthless notes that ONLY that AFF-I can understand is lazy and unproductive to the student. www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
-
I'd hope that wouldnt be the case. With jumpers inside it might be fun, but with jumpers on the outside as well, I'd say that pretty stupid. And if that were the case, he'd probably be spitting his teeth out like Chicklets, if it were me hanging on the outside when he did that intentionally...... www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
-
Really? So he gets handed to another AFF-I. The student comes back 3 weeks later and doesn't remeber the jump well, or goes to another dz for training. How was the climb out and solo exit? How was the practice touch? What was causing the spin? And what needs to be done to correct it for the repeat jump? If he was spinning without control, did he redock or do a solo pull in a flip flop spin? Was his landing stand up. No need to write a book, but this is poor log book input, IMO..... www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

You kidding, right? www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com

This will probably be moved from the Incident forum to Safty/Training, but I'd suspect you lost stability and rolled over while looking at your pilot chute as it trailed above you. Use just a turn of the head and your perifial vision to see it behind you, while remianing stable works best. Did you make sure the pc was cocked, if its a kill line pc? www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
