    Spam Irony

Got tired of spam ? I hate it as well. Yahoo has a good spam filter, btw. Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  2. In the eighties, Fa, a (european?) soap brand, had a whole series of commercials featuring nice topless women (yes, broadcasted on the public channels ). Now, they combined this concept with skydiving, making it even better. You can download the commercial here. Most of the commercial is in dutch (and I apologise for the little english they use ), but that doesn't really matter, I figure Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  3. And perhaps a cutter, if nessecary ? Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  4. I was at archway today, staying on the ground because of the wind/rain/thunder. Guess what we talked about..., yep, THE Tornado. Yesterday, however, was much better, with lots of jumping
  5. Wow, it's hard to find the right words for this, amazing! If only a small portion of the people on the world were like this, what a nice place would it be! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  6. The one song which I associate with skydiving most is Backerman by Laidback. I was told that they jump with all kind of instruments in the clip. Never saw it though . Anyone any idea where I can find it? Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  7. As a small kid I saw a parachutist land in a tree on a demo . That got me interested, and many, years later, I decided I wanted to have a fun holiday, so I went skydiving. After my first jump, I knew I was hooked
  8. Sorry to hear your rig was stolen . Apart from posting it here on dz.com, it probably doesn't hurt to post it on www.itsbeenstolen.com They do have a skydiving section as well! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  9. We rock, we're in the top 100!!!!! Take a look here. Oke, still at the bottom of the page, but nevertheless!! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  10. Lucky you! I smelled gas on at least (I lost the count) four of the eight plane rides I had last weekend. Today, it wasn't a jumper, but the pilot . How many people were in the plane, only you and the pilot?? Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  11. On very, very windy days, a backwards main can come in handy, the flair would be interesting though! As for sideways, you need a smart person to do that without disconnecting the main from the risers. More seriously, I hope his reserve was hooked up the right way! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  12. Yep, and knowing the direction of the wind in relation to the sun can turn out to be useful in case you have to land out. Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  13. I always have a pull-up cord, some money and even some rubber bands in my rig. This is a habit learned at a dz where we had to land in a field a couple of miles from the airfield. We all packed while waiting for a van to bring us back! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  14. I'm very happy with my barigo. I have no experience with the Alti. Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  15. Well, if you don't expect it, it's a nice surprise... Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  16. Yeah what he said.............. I think he's just teasing us, and having a very good laugh. I wouldn't mind being wrong though... Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  17. I'd say, regulation need not always be a bad thing. In the dutch regulations, there's a simple rule that the jump/gear need to be in accordance with your experience level. Using this rule along, an instructor can ground somebody (recently, they added new regulations, restricting both wingloading & type of canopies based on jumpnumbers). Now the problem is of course that if you're told you can't a certain canopy, there's always another DZ around. I guess it's at least partly the DZs responsibility to prevent these kind of people from killing themselves. If they don't, rules will be enforced upon us. However, I'm afraid that if people really want to do this, they'll find a way, at least for one, or a couple of jumps... Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!

    Eddy

So, what's wrong with that? I kinnov like that name. Now, 'Eddie' is a completely different story I'd say, EddyRules (is stil available)! Of course, you can always change your name if you feel like it Bye the way, I got my nickname during my first jump course. One night, a drunk chief instructor said: it's gonna be bad weather tomorrow, cause EddytheEagle flies low. I guess it turned out to be a perfect day! Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  19. licenses (probably it's better to start with those ) ratings Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  20. Well, I learned from it, so it served a purpose
  21. I haven't seen the Talon FS in real life yet, but I'm interested in it, as I'm about to buy new gear. The Talon 3 is based very much on the Talon2, and has the same look. The TalonFS is based on the VooDoo, with all the extra protection for the pins and the risers. Also, it has the cut-in back strap (like on the Odyssey), which looks really comfortable. Probably there's much more to say. The only info I've seen online is from Parachutes Australia. There, they also have info on the Talon3. Bye the way, the TalonFS comes fully loaded, the `only' option is stainless-steel (that is, if you buy in the states, in Australia, stainless steel seems to be included?). Has anyone more info, on how it fits in an actual skydive? Don't underestimate your ability to screw up!
  22. Rare Vos (strange fox, for those who haven't masterd the art of speaking dutch yet
