Hey, I bet that I would be comfortably with you as a pilot. Where are you flying in AK? I've been working out of Dutch harbor For almost ten yrs. But lived and worked all over SE AK. We all know that there are so many pilots at all skill levels. There are some pilots that I am very comfortable with and others that I am more concerned about. The bottom line for me is that we have to work togather. It may be his ticket, But, It's also my life, my safety and my gear.. That is where my responsibility lies. As well as the people often behind me. AKjmpilot is probably a great pilot. I lived in AK off and on for ten yrs and know that the bar for flying is raised there + He's a jumper. I'm not talking about punching clouds, or avoiding them within peramiters. I'm talking about just plain BAD (pilot) spots , We all know that they happen from time to time for whatever reason I travel the land, Work in the ocean, Play in the sky

Yup did tht one too with my heatwave in the dark.. Lesson gladly learned! I will never take that chance again When I just got off student status I was trained with a ripchord on the right side. My new transitional gear was BOC. I did a really intense jump with my sister which ended up in one of those "oh shit! I have to pull" moments of altitude awareness and pulled the handle that was where my ripchord was formally (the cutaway). When I pulled that cutaway I even went to throw it like a BOC PC. I quickly realized my mistake and went for silver (probably at the same time that my reserve was deploying because of the RSL). I learned that when your learning new things (equiptment or maneuvers) to take it easy. Your mind will respond differently under high pressure situations. My ego got spanked that day! Get real! You pilots amaze me! Whenever theres something wrong with the spot it's never your responsibility, it's the jumpers. But now it's the pilots responsibility to spot for a jumper??? Over my dead body!! I call bullshit on that one, If a pilot doesn't make the corrections that I ask for (and I'm not unreasonable) then I would not jump.. When I jump, I am the jumpmaster and I have to land my own wings. I travel the land, Work in the ocean, Play in the sky

Although these threads have put me in a mood lately because it seems like there are sooo many of them, I enjoy actual conversations on the subjects above. The key is Actual conversations, Implying that people are actually exchanging information with each other. Who knows, Maybe I'm jaded. These threads seem to be repetitive at best with mostly the same avitars barking at each other over and over about the same things. I rarely click on them anymore because of this. Exactly, thanks for throwing out that link.. which says what I said in the first place that this cypress is actually worth 166.00 ... A bad deal @ 400. who buys this crap? There are so many people out there willing to help people make good smart buys, it's a shame that more people don't ask for advice before making mistakes like this.
