It all goes back to the definition of each of those values. The mean is the average: all values added together, then divided by the numbers in the set (n). You add 20 to the total because it's the difference of the incorrect value from the correct (higher) one. If you need the extra step, essentially once you get the sum of all the scores (65.5x40), you "take out" the incorrect value (-70) and replace it with the correct one (+90). With the information given, you would not be able to find the new median. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

You have entered a search term that is likely to return adult content. OK, I don't want to know. I was curious, but not that curious. The Howard Stern book, huh? Okay, I know this post was from 9 years ago, but it was never answered. Chuck's post comes from "Howard Sterns' Tips for a Healthy Rectum" from his book "Private Parts." [paraphrase] Don't wipe more than three times. If it still isn't clean, get in the shower. [/paraphrase] Howard is obviously with the "look" crowd! How sad is it that I remember that more than 16 years after reading! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

I got my first jumpsuit while still in AFF -- we were going to the tunnel, so one of my coaches loaned me a jumpsuit that his girlfriend received that didn't fit her (she's a bit taller than me). It fit me perfectly, so they offered it to me at a REALLY good price. Two years later I designed my rig to match that jumpsuit! I solved the "can you see me on FS video" dilemma by using more of the blue and adding a neon color for the stitching on the rig (although that was totally unintentional -- just happened to notice that particular perk the next time I jumped 4-way)

Same here. Made one for my nephew once he started AFF. He about fell over when we gave it to him. He's finishing HS, so he wears it quite a bit (so I'm told). See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Because she considered your attack on her man to be worse than his attack on her. Not terribly uncommon. Ask any cop why they fear domestic distrubances the worst. And why they try really. really hard to keep everyone out of the kitchen during the call. In addition, by this time she has been conditioned to expect another/worse beating once you're gone, just because he's pissed he couldn't finish the first one. By now, she feels she deserves the beating (or at least that she can't counter his justification, warped as it may be), and that he will have something else to blame her for if she accepts your help. I would vote for the three-way. It's one of the most fun things to do ... oh, wait. You must mean skydiving. Never mind. Hey, Jen! Congratulations. You're now qualified to wear this (I have a few of these -- some even say "girlfriend") See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Woo hoo! Enjoy the moment. Congratulations. Then again, I also thought my last degree was going to be that: my LAST degree. I've decided to pursue another. Just a glutton for punishment, I guess! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Most Tandem jumps in one day by a single instructor
TriGirl replied to pinkskyvan's topic in Tandem Skydiving
I was wondering whether that record attempt was going to stick, since according to the Parachutist article, Angela had only an A license (therefore, not USPA-legal to jump at night). Then again, when Chip & Kristine established the first record, Guinness only designated it a record for the TI, not for the team. Or did the article list Angela's license incorrectly? That never inspired her to try it for herself just once? I'm a bit surprised by that. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump! -
I did when I was in college. Living in Detroit had its advantages, esp for music. Detroit, Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis -- all easy drives. I even made it to Eden Music Fest outside Toronto right after graduation (yeah, I'm dating myself here -- Eden ended up running only once, but it was EPIC!). Although it played three years in London, actually having seen "Chess" in the US is pretty rare. It only played two months on Broadway and sporadically elsewhere. It's not horribly "popular," "safe" accessible like an "Oklahoma" or some other standard, so it doesn't get done a lot. I believe it was a small road company that blew through town where I saw it. Where'd you see it? We did the entire score in HS, and I saw some bits of it on some TV program (entertainment or some sort) a LONG time ago. My school actually did it as the big spring production some time after I graduated, but I had since moved and didn't get to see it. Awesome link, thanks! Great pics they have there. I've asked one of my British friends if he can look for the book and a Bing plush toy while he's home.

I got to see "Cabaret" last summer. Too bad I wasn't prepared for the end! (this production did the morose, tragic ending). I will agree with you on "Tommy," plus I noticed a couple 2006 posts had "Chess" (my vote). And if we're including movies, how about "The Wall"? That one left me feeling emotionally violated. Not what I expected, and I wouldn't turn to it for entertainment, but it was a brilliant use of imagery and sound to get the audience into the mind of Pink. Absolute art IMHO.
