and it all started with the big gang bang. I do believe "Charmed" came first. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Most of the "alternative" stations should re-think their target audiences. The one in Tampa switched to this crazy "vote online for the next song" type of format. They were pretty shocked at all the 35- to 50-yr-old listeners who wrote to complain! Not to mention, the morning show hosts would take so many calls from that age group, then say, "well, you aren't really in our target demographic..." before dismissing a comment. (but would slam the juvenile comments from the 19- to 23-yr-old who couldn't really contribute to the subject). I too loved the music, and even the topics/banter of the different DJs. They could have made so much more money on advertising if they had realized their real target demographic and tried a little harder! I don't know... it's been working fine for me so far. Although I don't think my hair will get that long before I retire next year. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

If You Could Summer Anywhere Where Would You Go?
TriGirl replied to LuckyMcSwervy's topic in The Bonfire
Keep in touch. It would be cool if you would consider a port call to Turkey. I'll be on the coast for Independence Day weekend! We will be in Istanbul but not until the end of July. Drag. I'll be in Belgium by then. Oh well -- have fun! -
Oh, and "pics, or it didn't happen!" That's my way of asking whether anyone would be so kind as to share some? Check Facebook, you silly person... I don't believe she has a facebook account.yes she does. No, I don't! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

If You Could Summer Anywhere Where Would You Go?

As it happens, that sounds like my recent summers. 2014 I will be on a sailboat in the Aegean, cruising the islands. Keep in touch. It would be cool if you would consider a port call to Turkey. DAMN!!! Still pissed I had to miss that. But representation from Turkey did fly in for the event.

This is the reason I was totally taken by surprise when I got one for my 50th/B-license jump! (although I did buy beer after) See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

When I heard the news tease about the kid ("security not as tight at Freedom Tower as is advertised!"), I thought that incident would turn out to be BASE jumpers. Guess the kid was a few months too late! I always figured someone on the building crew would take care of that (get that first BASE from the building out of the way), since they're known to security and definitely know all the ins and outs of the structure. I'm just surprised they didn't jump it while it was still under construction. What would they be charged with in that case, if they were already granted access to the site by virtue of building the thing? (yeah, I know only one of the guys was actually on the crew. Let's assume for the sake of the question that everyone jumping from an unfinished structure was granted access due to being on the work crew) See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

So, your landlord won't actually be "out" any money, since she's going to sell the place, and the new stove with it. Unless you want to take that new stove with you and buy it off of her when you leave/buy your new place, that's something for the new owners to worry about. That's an event though -- seems even like a workshop -- not a boogie. Like I said, they charged appropriate costs for competitions and the like, but not to attend/participate in/enjoy a boogie. And yeah, I was talking about ZHills. I didn't want to seem to be promoting any one DZ in Bonfire! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Hey, I'm kinda busy here, could you run down to medical and grab me about 14 feet of fallopian tube so we can get all this drained? Sure! As soon as I find the keys to the HMMWV. I need to pick up some rotor wash and flight line anyway. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

I never even thought of the woman aspect of his post. That was my very first thought, just reading the title. +1! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

My home DZ (that you have been known to frequent, Mark!) doesn't have a boogie fee at all. Entertainment is arranged some nights, and Stupid Skydiver Tricks (a.k.a. contests/talent shows) organized on other nights. The Cafe plans dinners most nights that you can buy, or not. If a competition is arragned, a fee is determined for participants. That covers things like judges, equipment and video support, as needed. Sometimes it even goes toward prizes. Vendors come to do their own business. Spend money with them or not, as you choose. Camping out? Pay for type of camping support you use, or pay for a hotel room in town. I would like to see them design/arrange for a special t-shirt, but again, I'd be happy if that was just an option to purchase. BTW, this is also a good suggestion for any DZ that hosts Nationals -- create a commemorative t-shirt style for purchase. One that is markedly different from the one you give to competitors, yet still cool enough that I would want to buy it.

Child Sues Parents for Continued Financial Support
TriGirl replied to wildcard451's topic in Speakers Corner
NY is the same, alhtough it stops at age 22. My brother is dealing with this every other month, as his ex-wife keeps taking him to court wanting more and more money (yet she makes more money than he does). See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump! -

44 Then again, I only have a total of 52 lifetime skydives, and 2 of those were tandems! After reading the article, I'm certain that this survey is not for someone like me anyway, with so few skydives to start with. Plus, "52" skydives puts me in the 50-200 group. Also, why would I have done a lot of high hop & pops? I've done a lot of H&Ps specifically to work on canopy skills (more than 5), but none above 5K. My home DZ only offers H&Ps up to 5K anyway (as well as any other DZ I've checked out), so not sure why the survey insists on "above 5K" as a criteria. Really? I have four National ratings, and next year will pursue FAI. My profile info is all correct. I was also a very experienced DZSO before I even had my A license (I bring that up because someone made a comment about it once). Might be surprised who's judging competitions, certifying records, or "pulling dirt!" See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
