In a similar move to the example you gave about the non-drinking skydiver, the Italian government could have chosen a different location for the press conference. Now, not serving alcohol at the dinners? There is a simple solution to that: don't offer any to the non-drinking guests, and don't make a big show of it. Just have a non-alcoholic alternative already in place. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

I'd prefer to go this way: http://www.ntsb.gov/_layouts/ntsb.aviation/brief.aspx?ev_id=20001212X18632 Wonder how long it took the investigator to draft that phrasing! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Huh. When my alarm goes off, my cat is sitting beside me just looking at me, waiting to get up (if you don't expect it, this sight can be pretty creepy!). If I don't get up, he gently reaches over and strokes my face.

While not the official competition video, here is a version of three of the performances with their music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-40vpUs4ws See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Leonid clearly excelled. But the other two competitors in this video certainly also deserve some recognition! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-40vpUs4ws Format -- thanks for posting. I didn't even realize this happened over the weekend. So sorry I missed this broadcast! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Yes... but almost nothing in the Glory thread is clothed. If yall get that, we get this. xD I'm not trying to take anything away! Just want to be sure what I'm opening before I do so at work. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Whatever helps you sleep at night - I'm sure the protesters think they're helping to save innocent lives. Why does the argument always come back to this? Only a small portion of the services provided by PP have anything do to with terminating a pregnancy. Women and men who consult PP for reproductive health and PLANNING their families deserve to be able to walk into the facility freely (not to mention health screenings). Healthcare providers and counselors deserve to do their jobs and help the public without fear of death or other bodily harm (or, in this described case, emotional abuse) from outsiders. Why do these demonstrators think every person entering a PP facility is planning/performing an abortion? On a separate note (not necessarily at you), why is "pro-choice" automatically equated to "every solution is abortion!"? This is not the case. It means people should have options. Option to determine, with all available resources and information, whether to continue with an unplanned or unsafe pregnancy, and once the decision is made, how to make that happen as safely as possible. Would it be nice if we could keep the number of terminations to a minimum? Yeah, that would be nice. But sometimes people make decisions someone else disagrees with (like never having children, or never getting married, or moving to another country because that's where they want to live). At least they have a choice. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Um, is this SFW? Won't open it if I don't know! FFS girl it's in the NAME THE RACK thread, good chances that it's probably a RACK Agreed, but as this thread started out (the first dozen or so pages), the racks were clothed. And the game was to determine to whom they belonged. They aren't ALL bare at this point (and yes, I totally missed the subdued text in the subject line that said "adult content"), but they also are not all clothed. Actually, even choosing which stories to report, and in which order, illustrates a bias. But I otherwise support your point. Agreed. Also important is to choose which sources to compare. Putting Fox against NPR, for example, is not a fair comparison. Or CNN against BBC. This. However, they do provide some insight into the opinions, point of view, and, indirectly, the level of apathy of the audiences that keep these programs running. The key is to look into what isn't being reported, or how the facts are being presented. Kind of like the other thread where people pointed out that Trump* just spouts off "I'll do this," and "I'll make XX pay for it!" and other vague, unsupported, faulty premised campaign promises, but gains so much support as a legitimate candidate because such a huge portion of our population cares not to look behind the curtain. Just because a report resonates, does not indicate that the reader/listener is actually informed on the topic. I wish the provoked thoughts would lead more often to provoking the desire to research in support of full consideration as well. *I'll submit many other candidates are equally guilty of this tactic -- Trump was just the subject of the discussion in the other thread. I have never looked at it from this perspective and I have to agree. I've been trying to find the news pieces I heard on NPR, to find the country that is holding culture classes for the refugees they're taking in. They're sitting these folks down and explaining what behavior is acceptable and what is not, in particular when it comes to the interactions between men and women in that country. They're also providing language lessons, escorted (read: assisted) trips to markets, covering rules of driving, and various other things. I've also heard reporting on communities here in the US doing that same thing. It's like a refugee sponsorship. Taking people into their homes at first, then helping them find housing, navigate the city, get their kids into schools -- basically a one-on-one to help them get settled and feel comfortable in their new homes. Very simple ways to get newcomers to join the community, instead of all but forcing the formation of refugee cities. Of course, this can all only be done on the smaller scales that the US and some smaller countries are taking in refugees. While I appreciate the good intent of taking in more than a million refugees, I think we all have seen some of the unintended consequences of some of these details falling to the wayside. I was trying to get the link to the Christopher Titus podcast from earlier this month, but he doesn't have it posted to his webpage yet. Title: Punk-Ass Patriots. He goes off on these knuckleheads in a similar way as you. See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump! -

I don't mind the fixed visor so much, but have since not been able to get replacement visors. One I did get was destroyed after one tunnel session in cold weather. The other is tinted, which I like, but I'm afraid to use it much for fear it will also pucker and shed. As NWFlyer said, not sure whether anyone has since picked up the manufacturing of said helmets and parts. Otherwise, for me it was an excellent fit and extremely comfortable. But as others have mentioned, you definitely also should be sure it is the right fit for you. Example: a lot of skydivers are loving the new Cookie G3. Plenty of others absolutely hate the fit. Good luck! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

+1 I had a choice when I went to Okinawa in 1999 whether to keep flying or learn to SCUBA. I chose the latter, and am glad I did! Of course, you'll be spoiled for pretty much any other dive destination the rest of your life. Okinawa has a huge variety for SCUBA -- depth, access (shore or boat), what to see (flora or fauna). Just something to consider! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

I presume then that everyone is okay? So sorry to hear about that experience, but yeah, the 10-yr-old will be a hero at school this week! See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
