I'm with the rest of them Luna. You did great it sounds like! I think a lot of us lose altitude awareness, to some point or another, at some time in our skydiving careers. Hey, I was told once that they were going to strap on two altimeters, two dytters (one for each ear) and hook up an LED light to my full face so it flashed across in front of me "PULL!". How scary is that?! You lived, you learned and just be particularly careful about it the next time. Good luck!

A 1971 Hornet. It only took 'regular' gas so it was rough trying to plan ahead to gas it up, it had a cinder block under some padding to make up the driver's side of the seat and would only go 30 mph (I lived in the country...LONG ride to school!). Oh, and the heat didn't work. The blue bomb!! Gawd, I'm so happy to have a real car now!

I think that's probably what it boils down to, Meg....respect for others' beliefs. Some of us would say "go for it, have fun" while others would say "that's SO wrong!". My mother-in-law, for instance, would probably have a heart attack if she heard of such a thing, and isn't even Catholic. I think it would be more out of respect for her and others like her that I wouldn't *obviously* do it. However, I might if I wouldn't get caught...IE: no one around. What they didn't know couldn't hurt them. I also think the idea behind it is the offensive part for some. It's obviously a controversial subject, which is why the point value is be so high. If it weren't wrong on some levels, it wouldn't have been a big deal.

I'm surprised no one has brought this up yet, perhaps because it'll prob'ly end up another locked thread. Maybe I missed it? But, by now you've probably heard of the 'shock jocks' from New York who were kicked off the air for doing a contest where you would get points according to how 'daring' the deed was, and had a list of said deeds with point value. One of the tops in point value was having sex in St. Patrick's in NY. A couple did it (or now are saying the emulated sex, but didn't actually do it) and got arrested. The DJ's are kicked off the air, I'm not sure if fired yet (or will be), and the directors of the show are in trouble also. I read elsewhere a good point that I agreed with. If a 'church' can be anywhere two or more gather in His name, then if you hold services at a lake, can you not get frisky in said lake? I, personally, don't care if someone wants to have sex in a church. The only way I'd have a problem with it is if there were people there at the time that they would/could offend. Or children for Heaven's sake. If it was empty, go for it. That's 'some' of my thoughts on it. (Then again, I've 'done it' any number of places that I mighta got arrested for and actually shocked a toll both guy on purpose once..so maybe I'm a bit off-center). Basically it boils down to 'who cares'. Perhaps a bit much for radio, but whatever. I don't have to listen to the show if I don't approve, or do the deeds for points unless I want to. To each their own. (Then again, I'm a firm believe in that if it's not harming anyone, particularly me or those I love, then it's really none of my business what ANYONE wants to do. Who am I to judge?) Thoughts? (hoping this won't get nasty)

Honestly, I'll prob'ly let everyone here know so if anyone wanted to join me, they could. I'm really pretty excited about trying it...I'm trying to be patient until my 100th (but with winter approaching, maybe I'll just do it sooner!)

Sandals are allowed.... Hmm...the only time I jumped in sandals it was those kind with the thick bottoms, I landed in tall weeds because of "someone" and "someone else" not getting their a**es outta the plane fast enough so we all landed out. I did a face plant cuz I tripped when the sandals got caught up in the weeds. I might just go barefoot

I wonder how many people wear tennies with nothing else on those jumps? I am only concerned about my sometimes crummy landings and breaking a toe or something if I try to go barefoot ...
