    I've been to 5 different DZs since my first tandem.I dont hold anything against any of them,I just want to do whats best for me and my personal level of training..I love to travel and meet other people like me.You should do what makes you happy and just hope your DZ understands.

    No trick.I'm just the favorite. Actually,I've had some very serious problems with ill-fitting gear.I'm not talking about being a student and complaining b/c the gear doesnt fit just right.I mean I was put in situations that the gear I was wearing put me in unsafe conditions (I didnt know it until it was too late and I was already in mid-jump when I realized things werent right).It scared the hell out of me and after I landed I was so shook up I swore I'd never jump again.It was that bad. Well,I am living up to that promise to a certain extent....I'm never jumping at that DZ again b/c they dont have gear that will fit me and I dont think its worth it if I have to do it in unsafe conditions. B/c my family knew how much I love this sport,they wanted me to have safe,properly fitting gear.So thats why my family is paying for new gear.     I cant speak for any other jumper,but I chose blue and black simply b/c they are my fav colors. I might find a different color pattern for my future rigs, but I like this one for this rig.

    Well,like I've said earlier,I'm not worried about the $ factor.My family is footing the bill for my gear.I offered to get used and they said they want me to have the whatever I want...even new.Their main issue was that they would only agree to pay for gear if it was cypres-equipted,which was fine by me.

    I know it sounds bad, but I'm not too worried about the price factor.This opportunity for new gear is a Christmas gift from my family. (yeah I know..I'm a spoiled brat.)I have had serious issues with gear not fitting...several of which almost caused me to quit the sport completely due to serious effects of ill-fitting gear.I am going to buy a custom container that I can use for awhile and just rent or buy a used main.With the size container I'm looking at I can jump a canopy that fits my current low-jump abilities and wing-load nicely,yet can later safely downsize to something with a bit more performance.I'm not trying to rush into this either.I've spent hours emailing and calling maunfacturers,dealers and talking to experienced jumpers about gear.Ask Lisa...I'm sure I've bugged her to death by now. I do understand your concerns and appreciate the advice, but I think I'm doing whats right for me personally and I have had several dealers and experienced jumpers agree.

    Well I was struggling to get enough $$ to go when I was under the impression that I'd be sharing expenses with someone.With the situation as it stands now I just cant afford it.I guess I'll just stay home and jump locally.I'll save a little $$ and get more jumps this way.     Well you calculated wrong. Its not just Dave and Pablo taking up space... Dave+ gear+luggage (for clothes and such)+tent/camping stuff. Pablo+gear+luggage (for clothes and such)...and I'm not sure what Pabs is doin for sleeping arrangements,so he might be bringing camping stuff too. Dave's truck is fullsize but as far as I remember from the one time I was in it the only bench seat is in the backseat (where all the gear+tenting stuff+luggage will be). It'd make for a very uncomfortable ride if you added me and my luggage to the equation. "...just an earthbound misfit, I."

Besides, the gear thing is a Christmas gift.I guess I can always go to Eloy next year...with my sexy new Mirage. I *might* still be able to wing this (pardon the pun) thanks to a few people who have offered their extra bunks and hotel slots.I just need to see about the driving/gas $ factor.This might also mean I probably will not have the $$ to jump while at the boogie unless I win the TX lottery between now and Christmas.     ...and since Kris isnt going I am left hangin w/o a ride or roommate. I'm not sure if I can drive the whole 19hrs alone and I dont have a place to stay.
