Ok, so the college Halloween bonfire was cancelled b/c its too windy and I'm not going to an awsome concert tomorrow b/c I have no one to go with me.So here starts my weekend of sitting home and doin' nothing. I've met Kim Fuller.Hes a cool,very hilarious guy to hang around with at the DZ. My first tandem was at Eagle Flight.I don't know if the gear belonged to Kim, but the guy I was engaged to at the time jumped a PC at Eagle Flight the weekend before my first jump. I've always thought of the people in my life as either a "true friend" or just a "casual associate". I interact with people every day at school,social functions,etc. although I am friendly towards them and can enjoy hanging out or being around these people, they are not necessarily friends.They are people I associate myself with. My true friends are dear and few in number. If I know I am willing to drop everything to help this person b/c I care about them and know they would do the same for me, then I know they are true friends through the good and bad. I agree with lawrocket about the companion issue. A companion is a higher form of friendship. I feel this is the person that not necessarily completes my life, but rather compliments my life.My companion will be the person that makes my life more fulfilling and allows me to reciprocate that by complimenting their life with the relationship they have with me.I don't have a companion nor do I know if I will ever have such a person in my life, but I am open to the possibilities. If I go,I can't leave til the morning of the 26th. Buncha family stuff/tradition and I would be burned at the stake or disowned if I skip out on them. I don't mind driving or taking my truck.I just don't want to do it alone in case of an emergency or if I get tired of driving etc...not to mention its just not safe for a young female to travel alone (I don't trust anyone) and my family would have a cow worrying about me on the road alone.Plus it'd just be nice to have a travel buddy. You might just try going to a convenience store or something like that where they sell cigars individually rather than by the box. My grandfather owned/operated a convenience store for 37 yrs before he passed away.If people were nice about it and weren't just total mooches he wouldn't mind giving away stuff like boxes etc. when he had 'em piled up in back waiting to be thrown out.Just my experience and $.02. I agree. I've had offers for relationships,dates and even 2 engagements, but I don't want to settle. I want to be happy with someone that I can't wait to rush home to and vice versa. Even though I have a prob w/hating being alone I still won't settle just to be in a relationship and not be alone.It is a bit on the hopeless romantic side and I know some of those feelings/ideas fade after you've been with someone long enough but its still there.Will I find that person?
