  2. What the heck happened to their aircraft that night? That I know of: Both fire bottles pulled. It's suspected that the same person(s) also wrecked a couple gliders. Basically by trying to tear the ailerons off. Can someone explain what fire bottles are? Sounds like those portable fire extinguishers, but I'm assuming its not since that would be a simple fix to put the pins back in.... assumption is something to do with the engines? 4. That ^ I myself am a social smoker and very rarely smoke during weekdays. At a DZ I think it should be standard that NO ONE smoke on the LANDING area or anywhere near open containers/canopies or wingsuits. Personally if it's a closed rig in an open area I generally give a 20ft rule or so if I'm smoking and make sure I'm downwind of them. Unfortunately I have seen the effects of a DZM smoking near canopies and the AFF-I with his newly purchased main canopy that had just landed (also a smoker) ended up getting a small hole from the DZM's cherry. This is simply unacceptable. Just common sense people For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  6. That is a great stunt, but not really practical for everyday jumping. If I'm not mistaken this is the smallest canopy that I know of jumped 'regularly' http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/detail_page.cgi?ID=132605 For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  7. 1 month later guess you forgot haha. Could you still post the navigate/altitude/heart rate picture? Many thanks! Trying to decide between Suunto Ambit and Garmin Fenix For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  8. I purchase a DeepSeed Deluxe Weightbelt.......super comfy and exceptionally well built. Only problem I have was that I could only max it out at 12lbs. While for now is more than enough, but for future competition I'll need as much as I can get without having to use 2 weight belts. Smaller lead shot vs size = more weight per pouch correct? Might just have too large size of lead shot as well. edit to add: Found out best ratio is to mix and match different sizes for highest density. Any mathematics wiz like to please calculate that for me?
  9. Please do explain. This I have to hear. So my brand new Sabre2 needs new brake lines every few jumps then I suppose For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  11. 19 sq ft round jump, took a 3 second delay from 480 ft. I literally could not count any further/longer no matter how hard i tried to yell out "four one thousand" and pulled....dirty high puller i know or Balloon jump with skydiving rig and tracksuit, exit from 3k and intentionally pulled at 1k with 21 sec of free fall & 22 sec of canopy time For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  13. Implementation of dimples similar to those in golf balls therefore creating less drag/friction with the airflow. Even proven to save gas when used on a car (at least according to mythbusters) by a whopping 11% For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  14. Almost exactly 2 yrs later haha Simple answer is yes a OP 143 will fit along with your 135. BUT your more complex answer now comes down to it depends what you're willing to deal with and your patience and skill Is your Sabre2 135 brand spanking new canopy or is it a few years old with a couple hundred jumps on it? How are your packing skills at the moment? What kind of weather does your DZ usually have....more on the humid or dry side? How long has your rigger been packing reserves for and how patient is he/does he like you? Couple of things ya might want to consider Naturally if your Sabre2 has a few hundred jumps on it and your packing skills are good and you are usually in more humid conditions it should be no problem. Theoretically my pulse did have the pack volume of a 135, but my God it was a damn brick paired with the OP 143 in a V308. I had to pay packers every time until I downsized because I could never pack it myself Although on UPT's sizing chart it will fit they state that "Caution, if you put a full fitting reserve and full fitting main in the same container this may be very hard to pack if bulk distribution is not correct". After having both full fitting canopies in that container I'd reccommend NOT putting BOTH full fitting canopies in a container, but nonetheless it will fit.
  15. Really depends on work for me, but average about 18 a month over the course of 2.5yrs. That includes recently taking few months off not being able to jump as well as doing as many as 70 jumps in 2 weeks during my vacation For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  18. If I'm not mistaken JVX comes in different types of fabric. If you by chance got the all sail fabric expect your 99 to pack up like a 170ish canopy. If you know nick batsch he jumps a 63 prior to his Petra and from the looks of his container it looked like a 135 ish sized rig, but then again he is a smaller guy like myself so may have just looked larger. Choose your reserve first before choosing the container. What are you comfortable with? 19. He's obviously hinting at trusting his rears, what forward thinking! Even though you might not even know it yourself you are wise beyond your years and already trusting your rears! A true Jedi in the making! *Not to be taken lightly or I mean seriously or wait whatever 1) Serious note, go with what the guy above said. 2) It's good to question things, helps push forward development for gear sometimes and make it better/easier to use! 3) later on you might find that spreading the rears might be a better choice as apposed to pulling them down for landing, but that's for you to decide Have fun and be safe! 21. I'm absolutely sold on this BOSS system, absolutely stable and clear as no other. 22. August 5th 1030pm PDT oh and here is a pic of their supersonic deploying parachute http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:20090422MSLtestparachute.jpg More info: "The MSL parachute is the largest parachute ever made for an extraterrestrial mission with a diameter of nearly 16 meters (51 feet). The parachute uses 80 suspension lines and is made mostly of nylon except for a small disk of polyester. Both the MSL parachute and the MSL test parachute were made by Pioneer Aerospace." NASA/JPL-Caltech Taken from Wikipedia....Parachute descent: When the entry phase is complete and the capsule has slowed to Mach 2 and at about 10 km altitude, the heat shield will separate and fall away. The Mars Science Laboratory will then deploy a supersonic parachute,[102] as was done by previous landers such as Viking, Mars Pathfinder and the Mars Exploration Rovers. In March and April 2009, the parachute for the MSL was tested in the world's largest wind tunnel and passed flight-qualification testing.[106] The parachute has 80 suspension lines, is over 165 feet (50 meters) long, and is about 51 feet (16 meters) in diameter.[106] The parachute is capable of being deployed at Mach 2.2 and can generate up to 289 kN (65,000 pounds) of drag force in the Martian atmosphere. What material, size, what choice of line, who worked on designing/developing it, & lastly who the hell is going to pack that? I personally wouldn't want to be responsible for a $2.5 billion dollar project to crash and burn lol Can't even imagine the forces being exerted upon opening with 65,000lbs of force traveling at 1,000 mph For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
