    Telling students/newbies to watch videos to learn how to flare under canopy to land, that can get someone hurt, is dumb. Not a question about beer dues out of respect for my instructors and other jumpers that go out of their way to teach me how not to kill myself. To everyone else who posted, thanks for wit and wisdom.

    Started jumping as a sophomore in college... Sold my laptop, iPod, $700 road bike (traded one passion for another), most my rock climbing gear, some snowboarding gear, anything I could throw on craigslist... 'Course once I got my license, took 4 months off jumping to work 75 hour weeks and save up for a rig, now I'm a packer at the DZ and have been able to jump mostly for free and been able to replace most of what I sold.

They're calling it like DRX or something, Direct Reserve Extraction, maybe, IIRC....They used to have a news update on their website but it disappeared a while ago.
