Now how could that be confusing?

I'll give you that. I have a problem without a cure that I am currently treating. So take me down a peg to just "healthy" Currently, I'd be phugged. No way in hell I myself could afford treatment. My family? They'd try every way they could I'm sure. But they understand why I currently don't want to spend $ on insurance. I don't wanna grow up, I wanna be a toys r' us kid....seriously, I don't plan on NEVER (double neg?) having insurance...but right now, as a young, very healt....sorry, just healthy kid, I would like to wait. I don't know how to say this nicely over the internet . . . (Compassionate Star Wars Emperor Voice) My guess is that you should have rallied your young friends to vote against Obama then.[/voice] I know it's not funny. I can see where the next election is going to be interesting, though; when the youngish voter crowd and the previously young and naive Obama voters go to the polls with an extra bill they have to pay of about 200/Month. Should be VERY interesting. You guys ready to kill me? See my other thread...I don't vote

This is why I'm here... To have my young, apolitical, silly mind molded by my elders...speak your wisdom upon me

It seems you don't quite understand what "insurance" means? I guess I dont.

Colorado?

Yes ETA: I'm a turd...I want health insurance, but not yet. I own the bulk of my equipment outright now, and replace the filter every so often (about $20 a pack). That being my only medical condition at the moment, and costs being very low, I don't want to be shelling out $132 a month when I don't anticipate a DR's visit. "But Johnny, you could have an unforeseen accident with tons of medical bills!" Of course I can, so can anyone...but for now, I'm 23, fit and active, live a fairly low risk lifestyle, don't smoke, and consider myself very healthy. So for now, I don't want to be forced to pay for something I don't CURRENTLY use or be forced to pay a fine because of that choice.

Welp, I gave up on skydiving a little bit ago... And my last doctor's visit was for my CPAP machine, which was when I was still on my parents' plan. I now own the machine outright and have only needed supplies for it a few times, nothing too expensive. Going back to what normiss said, I'm young, healthy, and haven't been to the doctor since my high school sports physical.... My plan WAS to move out on my own, which I did, start paying all my own bills, which I have, and get off my parents health insurance plan and get my own once I found a job that helps with the costs, which I have not. My plans are changing.

This thread was started 24 minutes prior to that thread. It's hard to convey 'smartassery' over the interwebz...I was just bustin your...you know

There's already a thread about this is the Bonfire......

BUT I DONT WANT HEALTH INSURANCE YET
-
Well, don't wonder anymore . . . KNOW that the price will go up significantly. Medical devices and supplies are being given their own special taxes. Fuck me........I really need to do my research...
-
Oh and I wonder how all this is going to affect my CPAP and my supplies
-
Sorry, fixed it..

I went to see what I'd be paying...didn't sign up...I need to figure out how the hell to pay for it first. Did you have to give them a bunch of personal info before you could get to the point where you would know the cost? Not sure how everywhere else works, but I live in Colorado so I went through the CO health website as directed by the main site, looked up prices, gave them some info, and prices didn't change much... I was just asking you this to see if your experience lined up with what the guy in the OP is saying Not so much. I've been weening myself off my parents teets over the past year and a half and health insurance is the only thing I have left to take my lips off. I'm ETA: contract labor, so no employer coverage. Looks like I'm crawling back to mommy and daddy til I turn 26

Because contrary to popular belief, the conservatives DO care about the country and its wealthiest citizens. FIFY Doooooooes that mean liberals are only concerned about the poorest? There is no logical way to make that inference from my statement. So NOOOOO. George Bush does not care about black people.... Barack Obama doesn't care about white people...
