haha, they asked me the same thing. they said: "you have 10 jumps already, cool. now we can go in tandem i'll be straped to you and you'll open the parachute" i almost died laughing. "George just lucky i guess!"

the lames/stupidest reason for NOT skydive i know is, that the weather is perfect sun i shining no clouds, perfect temperature, no wind, but there simply isn't enough skydivers to fill up the plane so you sit on a dropzone whole day not jumping and watching every car that droves by and hoping that someone will stop on a dropzone to jump... "George just lucky i guess!"

I just give a phone number of our dropzone, to all those kind of whuffos, and tell them to show up at the club, when me and my friends skydivers meet (every monday at 8:00 pm), and he can share his experience there, or signs in for first student jump and theoretical stuff... as expected none of them showed up yet "George just lucky i guess!"

Can anyone explain me how building speed at swooping works and why. I know that if you pull both front risers angle of incidence gets steeper - canopies heading is steeper, that why it goes faster. If you pull only one riser (left or right) only one side of the canopy gets steeper-dives faster and you make a turn. during a turn centrifugal turn is present, because of which, canopy is loaded heavier and is going faster through air and has better lift. My question is: Why does the canopy gain speed? -Is it because of centrifugal force that loads your canopy much heavier than it's already loaded. in that case swooper would probably got more speed if he made sharp turn where centrifugal force is big, and throws canopy pilot even up a little, well at least it looks that way, and while the centrifugal force is big, planes the canopy out. -or is it because in a turn you can keep canopies angle of incidence very steep. in that case it is probably better to start making turns up high and make several spirals, or at least that many to achieve maximum speed you can, and then plane out your canopy. -or is it something in between? I know that this centrifugal force and turning is all mixed together (to have centrifugal force, you have to turn, and vice versa) but which is more important to gain more speed canopies angle of incidence of centrifugal force? any explanation would be appreciated, 10x "George just lucky i guess!"

How to track 90 degree off jump run line?
grega replied to deaffreeflyer's topic in Safety and Training
another advice is to look at the ground while still in plane and waiting, for enough horizontal separation after another group, to jump. and you can see your flight path - where you are going, and then jump. at breakoff altitude you should know where to turn withou thinking too hard. Looks like the flight path is written in your subconcence somehow at exit... It helped me though, maybe it's worth a try. "George just lucky i guess!" -
well sangiro locked that "chit chat" forum, but i'm sure he will come up with something, so that we can continue our quest And another thing... today is friday and the day when we see reborn bluefingers, at least her picture with new hair and all...

same with me. if i won't stop partying because i could use some extra hours of sleep in a week, i'll stop because this parties are requireing toooo much "mirage" money. I spent a fortune last night (i thing it was about: for a whole pilot chute with hackey handle ) "George just lucky i guess!"

Good morning or should i say late night hmm i think that todays choice of weapon for me would be Aspirin (for my headache). Yesterday i was at the opening of a new skydiving school, and of course, we were drinking all night long. Actually i can't remember if slept at all, but i think i have for an hour or two.and i am already at work with this great headache. ell it's not headache yet, but it sure will be, when te screen (actualy everything) stops spining scratch:glad to hear the birdies are in full number again
-
argh... i have to post just a little more posts.... and i'll be happy with you guys, now i'll just have to use my ultra super duper high extra advanced resolution "George just lucky i guess!"
-
Uff, and i thought i'm suffering at work I hope they'll install you some windows in the future (unless you work underground) "George just lucky i guess!"
-
Neither do i.Why would they do that ??? if someone was trying to kill him, there are hundreds of easier ways to do so. I think it was just an accident. We all must be very carful and inspect our own gear before the jump. And i think that packing your gear by yourself is best way of avoiding accidents like that, and you get to know your canopy (opening) much better that way (unless of course it's rental gear) "George just lucky i guess!"

hmm lets see my reasons of excitement. The weather is great, sun is shining, I made almost enough money to order mirage (only a month more), scratch saved birds a couple of times , and most certanly joe and his pies made my day "George just lucky i guess!"
-
and then you go looking what's happening on forum, and you read everybody is talking about food (pies and stuff ) well look at it from the bright side: at least you didn't send your lunch flying across your desk, like you usualy do "George just lucky i guess!"
-
It sure is/was, the sun is shining through window on my desk, where i am sitting for ehm... 8 hours now , thinging of how great it would be to work on a DZ making money while jumping
-
if you are innocent little angel, where do you hide your wings, i can't see any "George just lucky i guess!"

Why pretending, admit it you heard something about nakedness and you clicked on it instantly... (like we all did ) "George just lucky i guess!"

Please stop, please stop, i can't hold it anymore. the monitor (19") isn't big enough, to hide me laughing behind it. p.s. jraf how much money do you get in US of you score the highest possible in Lotto. Here in slovenia the biggest ever was 2,600,000$ "George just lucky i guess!"
-
MAN you are lucky. I know exactly how it is, did that for about 3 months, but then i desired a new canopy and got to work. I hope you win on a lottery, not needing a job ever ! As i do for all our poor skydiver souls "George just lucky i guess!"
-
Oh is it morning alerady in US? And what the ... are you going to do on a perfect weather like you described in the middle of the week on a DZ ? Weren't you supposed to go to work, and suffer a little like we do "George just lucky i guess!"
-
Good morning, how is it in US, still dark ?? this is cursed, some people die because they ate too much pies, and other because they were laughing at them and couldn't eat any.. "George just lucky i guess!"
