    popcorn

Now that you mentioned, would you mind explaining it to us, who don't know that yet? "George just lucky i guess!"

The right one is L-410 Turbolet and the one on the left (two winged) is AN-2 Antonov. "George just lucky i guess!"

    More MIRAGE G4

I have some new pictures of my rig from this weekend, so here they are: "George just lucky i guess!"
  6. Where is the choice: -I don't do coffein, i jump from the airplanes! "George just lucky i guess!"
  7. WOW, you misunderstood. Of course learning to swoop upwind is almost a must. Especially in the early phases of learning. i just said that everyone should try downwind landing so they wouldn't be so scared of it that they rather make a snapping 180 turn into the wind when they're too low... about that "downwind landing is preferable to an upwind landing" was meant for those who know how to swoop and/or are competing in swoop distance... And i'm by far not among them, so i'll be quiet now and let the PRO's speak "George just lucky i guess!"
  8. Why didn't you ask: -Pro-Earth -Anti-Earth Off course those that live in america are pro-americans, and those that don't are anti-americans. At least for most of the cases... Everyone loves the country where he was born, and it doesn't matter which country is that. "George just lucky i guess!"
  9. I'm not sure i understood you, but how much is a S/L jump for student there? "George just lucky i guess!"
  10. I don't know either, but i think it has to do more with control range (bigger canopy, bigger control range), than lift. "George just lucky i guess!"
  11. another good thing for s/l progression: In a course of 100 jumps you'll spend a lot lees money if you do a s/l course. I heard you can spend a fortune on AFF jumps "George just lucky i guess!"
  12. Actually you could say "Downwind landing is preferable to an upwind landing" especially if you want to swoop thought you have to have the experience and knowledge to do it, or if you're brainless helps with decision too Seriously i think it's quite important to do an intentional downwind landing from time to time, just to see that it's actually "no big deal" while low turn is a big deal! actually this practice could save your life once... By saying this, i'm not saying that a student with 30 jumps should do a downwind landing at 20mph wind! All i'm saying is that there is another way to land your canopy if you're too low and turned downwind, and we should know that. just put a smile on your face and swoop like you never swooped before, and watch for obstacles like sheeps and cows "George just lucky i guess!"
  13. 462:1 severe line twist... "George just lucky i guess!"
  14. So how is life with shaved ass, haven't tried that one yet "George just lucky i guess!"
  15. I looked closely into it and you're totaly right. i can't even remember where i read what i was claiming before. But obviously i misunderstood something when i read that... Anyway hooknswoop is right. The internal pressure is higher. "George just lucky i guess!"
  16. I don't know, but i'd like to find out. "George just lucky i guess!"

    X-Fest video

The x-fest film festival is over. so is there any video out yet, or trailer maybe? "George just lucky i guess!"
  18. Hmm actually the pressure inside the canopy is never higher than the pressure of the air at that altitude temperature and humidity. The air pressurises at speeds waaay higher than you could fly with any canopy (more than 300mph) What changes is the pressure that is around the canopy, which get's even less, so the canopy is even more "tight" (streched apart). it's the same think why the canopy is pressurised. because the pressure outside is less than the pressure inside the canopy. and inside the canopy pressure is always same as the pressure that is at the stagnation point (few inches infront of the canopy) But nevertheless, the faster you go, the bigger the difference in pressures, more rigid the wing is. "George just lucky i guess!"
  19. it's not the point about the rock, but about what the wind avtually is and what it does. it doesn't matter if it's a rock, a fork, remote control, a boat, or canopy if you will. I was trying to make an example what wind is and that it does not effect your movement in the constant wind (moving aquarium) at all. everything in constant wind moves the same like there was no wind. relative to the wind itself not the ground of course... "George just lucky i guess!"
  20. No the altitude loss is the same. I have a great example explaining this: Take small aquarium full of water. then take a small rock (representing a skydiver making a turn) Put it in the aquarium. Count the time that it needs to get to the bottom of aquarium full of water Now lift the aquarium with your hands and move it over the ground with constant speed. this is impossible with bare hands, you'll probably make waves and water will be moving forward and backward. but let's say that you somehow manage to move that aquarium with constant speed. now this movement of water inside the aquarium presents the wind (water is liquid just like air only more dense, and the wind is nothing else but moving air over the ground). now put the rock again in the moving aquarium. the time that it needs to get to the bottom will be exactly the same. If you look at the rock away from the aquarium it won't fall straight down, because it was moved sideways with the water (wind). if you look at the rock within the aquarium. it will move exactly the same as if the aquarium wasn't moving (no wind), but through the bottom of the aquarium you can see the ground moving, but the rock is still moving the same as the aquarium would be still (no wind)... Hope that makes any sense... again, we are talking about wind with constant speed, if wind changes speed (accelerations, decelerations) like in turbulence, then we have a lot more to say about different masses (skydiver-heavy, parachute-light)... But this is for another thread "George just lucky i guess!"
  21. I think i missunderstood you... It definetely is more than just accuracy, control imo too is what you do through whole your aproach. From when you start the patter, till you are walking away from landing area. (sorry about the grammar) I was asking what is the sign at landing, that would tell us that we landed better than previously. is it speed, full stop at the end, having more % of the canopy under control,... ? p.s.: Jerry how are we supposed to have anything under control, we are "No Control" team after all "George just lucky i guess!"

    Hot or Not?

How do you know she was sliding down, mabe she was pullin her up "George just lucky i guess!"
  23. Hmm first what did you mean by "learning progression"? To learn how to stood up every landing, learn how to fly straight in every swoop, learn how to avoid traps like pulling one toggle down more than the other,... ? Even pro swoopers are learning all the time, So everybody is actually in learning progression, it's just that they are at level 50 and we are at 20 for example. I personally am not focusing on distance. i'm more focusing on accuracy of my landing and to flare the canopy so it actually stops at the end so i don't have to do even one step in no wind conditions. so far i managed to flare it to a full stop only a couple of times. at the same time lenghts of those "swoops" were also the longest. Is this what we should be focused on our landing, or is it something completely different? "George just lucky i guess!"

    Hot or Not?

I agree with Tonto. everyone has it's own taste. But i still think this girl is hot. nervously booking a flight to eloy christmass boogie "George just lucky i guess!"
