    in order to set the ip address I have to be able to bring up www.nas I'm going to try a crossover cable and see if I can connect directly to my laptop, Cable is at work so I'll try it monday

    Gave it a few hours , reset the NAS back to defaults, it's a linksys router VRT56G v5. The books says it should be detected by xp and vista w/o drivers. Guy I got it says it worked fine on his network so I assue it's a router setting.

    nas- network attached storage like a external hard dive, only on network.

    I have a 650 bt nas enclosure w/ a 1 tb hd. I can see it if I hook it up via a usb connection but not on my network. Tried 2 network cables and the indicator light on my wireless router lights up when I turn it on. Help!
