I couldn't agree more with this. I work in DC and the amount of fencing around is ridiculous. The double fencing in some parts remided me of the double fencing around the old prison near by without the barbed wire (surprisingly). I was thinking of going with a sign that says - these fences sure don't make me feel free - but then I read that letter that the secret service wrote banning all sorts of stuff like animals and sign supports from the inaguration. Would they take my sign support? How is it a security risk? Or did they not want my sign to be seen? Now I was really feeling free... And Ron, one thing that you are forgetting that IS costing the taxpayers money is that every federal employee that works in the district gets today off PAID. Thats a lot of money... I don't know about city employees... http://www.gopusa.com/news/2005/january/0106_cross_inauguration.shtml I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

Like? Anyone? Bueler? The first 10 amendments known as The Bill of Rights?? I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

This is an old email. You must not be checking very well. The first one is not correct. What they are talking about is on the east side of the building, the steps going up are on the west. More here: http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/capital.asp I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

He is still on the city council though... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

In the first sentence from the above quote: Replace "Democratic party" with "American colonies" Then replace "America" with "England" Sounds similar to what the British said during Revolutionary times. I find that funny. Remember that this country was founded by people who wanted to change the way things were so that all could come here and be happy. You know, the pursuit of happiness. Freedom. Not what the "ruling" party thought was right... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

Disaffected Americans look north to 'better government'
wzettler replied to PhillyKev's topic in Speakers Corner
Could you clarify as to what country you are talking about? If you are talking about America then I believe you are wrong. There were more deserters when there was a war on American soil (back in the day) than when on foreign soil simply because it was easier to run. I've specifically studied the revolutionary war and there were plenty. There have always been deserters and there always will be deserters. Fight or flight (for whatever reason), some people choose not to fight and will risk running even if there was/is a death penalty for it... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them. -
Its all coming together now. Notice the thread funks posted yesterday. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1327209;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread Wanna confess anything funks?? I know you took your daughter trick-or-treating last year. Share the wealth!! I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

That tells me he wasn't getting the proper help. Find someone else. This seems like a defeatist attitude to me and that you are giving up to easily. I hope you don't give up that easily on your own life if you ever find yourself under a malfunctioning reserve... I also feel for any future patients you may have in physical therapy or whatever profession you said you were going to get into. Never give up! For the record, I have a BS in psychology and I do not agree with your position. Every life is worth saving. Just think, one day it may be your kid... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

I had the honor of riding with Stane for the 5 hour road trip to bridge day and from what I gathered from talking with him, I got the impression that that was a direction he was exploring. (I don't want to put words in his mouth so I'll keep it as speculative on my part right now.) General: Being very new to BASE it was a real treat to pick his brain for 5 hours about BASE canopies and their flight dynamics. From what we discussed it seemed that there were many variables to canopy flight and there is somewhat of a give-and-take with maximizing performance for specific flight characteristics (ie ability to sink, glide and forward speed, etc.) with regard to specific parameters of the canopy's construction (like curve of the wing and line length)(I don't know if that makes sense the way I said it). Not just with BASE canopies but with paragliders and hang gliders as well. When we got to bridge day I felt 800 times smarter.

Hey check out the Gargoyle page on the Morpheus site. http://www.baserigs.com/gargoyle.html Is that a belly reserve on the front of the jumper in the "high speed" picture? Could you take something like that? I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

funks does not own a bike, so I wouldn't take anything he says to heart. Just because he used to be obnoxious on his (that he wrecked because he sucks) doesn't mean he speaks for the community. I happen to own a VERY loud (old) sport bike and I have always tried to leave my neighborhood as quietly as possible. So I do agree with funks that doing it repeatedly for anything longer than it takes to get out of the neighborhood is ridiculous. From the your story, I would talk to that neighbor and tell him that he is creating a disturbance and ceasing would be his best alternative... I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

I couldn't agree more with this. Travelling to other parts of the world is great life experience as well as educational in many aspects, IMO. I believe it makes you more of a World citizen, which I also believe is a good thing... I can't wait to travel again outside my country and see other lands and cultures.

Shane, Is the chopper going to be there Saturday and Sunday too? I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

I don't usually get into anything in this forum but, Are you saying they could have defeated them? Also: Just to clarify, Japan also was with Germany and Italy in that declaration. The countries had signed a pact prior to US involvment. So what one did, they all did, I would think. http://www.ibiblio.org/pha/policy/pre-war/361125a.html#1 Agreed.
