Thursday, December 11, 2003 OTTAWA -- U.S. President George W. Bush is grateful for help in the war on terrorism and is ''working'' to include Canada in hefty contracts to help rebuild Iraq. I was reading the other day that "The Golden Crescent" (A mountainous area of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan where opium has been grown for hundreds of years) is having it's biggest opium crop since before the Taliban regime. The US State Department gave a $43 million grant to the Taliban government months before the attacks of 9/11 as a reward for curbing opium production. Now that the Taliban have been overthrown and replaced by US-sanctioned government- Afghanistan is bringing in bumper crops of opium. George Bush tells us that we have to cut off funding to terrorists----yet no attempts of destroying the opium fields has been made?? Whatz up with that? SMiles

now that is very impressive!!-especially last Sunday...who took the pic?? I recognize "that river" (it's a small world?) ...a riot had years back when I decided to do demo into Abbotsford d.z. by myself, Dehaviland Dove took off from Pitt -heading back to Chilliwack, dropped load into Pitt, then pilot flew me over Abbotsford. He indicated it was time to go and I could not for the life of me recognize where I was..so waited and waited with pilot freaking....finally I recognized everything and jump run and spot was perfect. abb11- view of fraser river SMiles

People steal and hack because they can. And because so many others join them in what is essentially a hard-to-track-and-prosecute crime (or so they think), the sheer numbers of illegal downloaders make bravado and brazen statements like "so sue me" easier to spout. Unfortunately, trying to rationalize the behavior of Jon Johansen and the millions of people who use KaZaa and eDonkey and earthstation5 and now, his tool, to pirate, and do so via sheer volume is just as stupid as claiming that lynching a black man was OK because the majority of white men in this country felt no misery in doing so. Jon Johansen is enjoying a brief respite from legal sanity. So are all music pirates. SMiles

aint normal if you aint afeared my heart rate is MAX 50 feet from the ground, after 1030 perfect deployments (maybe 4 haven't been so special) but if anything deployment is time to be absolutely "in tune." I take real special care in every pack job so do not have to fear packing mistake. SMiles

I do not feel so alone- very good to hear all opinions...can be positive of the timing here, the boys are adults and raising youngsters is not involved. Unconditional love?......I rebel- and start making boundaries for myself. Realize that I have strongly developed "beliefs" (not religious) and I do not wish to be in a relationship that slams the door shut on my individual thoughts and choice. At the same time neither does he. Separating will give him the freedom to follow what he believes and me the freedom to follow what I believe....(unconditional love) I think I can sleep now...thanks all. SMiles

thanking you- I do wish I had some ground as far as the "bible" goes- (have honestly never read it....but he has been for years) Immediately I am looking for anything negative I can "throw" his way about this religion or cult. It has taken him 2 years to tell me- afraid of my reaction but outa the blue is off to the kingdom hall tomorrow and serious about "joining" what ever that means. He is also serious that this is the only religion that is "right". He also feels this will only change our lives for the good. Geez, my cousin studied Religion in university and became a "born again Christian"... To each their own- but I can absolutely not stand getting preached to or "at"....and I got my first taste of a "preaching" today. I have strong instinct- this is not going to work- infact I just realized how much I do not know him. Separating over religious choice is probably easier than any other basis for separation? On the other side if you ever feel like sliding easy out of a relationship- fake you are a Jehovah's Witness???? I do not plan to "run" as I am not afeared. Have to look ahead at "separation" being a positive step for both of us. SMiles

hey- what would you do if your partner in life has made serious decision to become a jehovah witness (he apparently has taken 2 yrs. to decide this path) He has chosen a path in his life I will not be part of any way- any how- never. Not religious myself- never have been but my reaction besides "shock" is we are on completely different paths and people do change....I love him and have for 22 years....it is time to go our separate ways. My reaction I will stew over but really do not know what so called Jehovah Witness's are about- except from what I've heard around here and there...maybe I am over reacting???.....Merry Xmas!! Spooky. It's like my computer is alive or something... It's totally f*$#ked what these worms can do- the last one I had was got thru kazaa (light). Norton didn't recognize (think it was called W32 Gimili) not serious-low threat Went thru all my html files and picture files(I do not keep address book in outlook either but design websites) searching for urls and sending emails to every address- with message to check out this pic attachments containing worm. Went thru all music files changing extensions- I noticed everytime I went online I was opening at a yahoo page and couldn't understand why. I couldn't change options..anyway there was a counter in my registry counting down everytime I went online and after 10x it corrupted my mouse and keyboard... shit- finally got rid of it- but talk about choked!!!! no more Kazaa for me. My virus definitions are uploaded automatically and it wasn't recognized when I did complete virus scan. Hidden in registry files. Ad-aware didn't recognize........... SMiles good luck
